2018 Sign Ups

Welcome to the fifth annual WIP Big Bang! If you’re interested in signing up, make sure you have first read all our FAQs. There are a couple of changes this year, so please give it (and this post) at least a skim even if you’re a returning participant. Sign ups will be through one of the google forms listed below. If you are planning to do multiple fics, please fill out a separate form for each one just to help us keep organized. If you may want to do art for the bang, please fill out the artist interest form. The way this works is that artists interested in possibly doing art will fill out the form and we will contact them with art claims details a day or two before the post goes up. That means artist are not technically signed up for the bang until they’ve claimed a fic for art. We’re hoping this will help get fics claimed more quickly, as well as prevent those who are a little hesitant from not filling out the form in fear that they’re going to lock themselves into something. The only required sections on the forms are username, platform, and email, but please fill out as much of the form as you can. It will really help us to keep track of everything. You can contact a mod later if you change your mind on the details of your story, or if you put a few options on the sign up you can narrow it down later. After you sign up, you should receive a confirmation email to the email you put on the form. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours, please email a mod at wipbigbang@gmail.com. “You don’t do a lot of SNS, do you?” Yuri asks him as they wait for slots to be drawn for Skate America and Seung-gil frowns.

He’d flopped down into the chair next to Seung-gil and hadn’t said anything for the first hour but it hadn’t been that awkward. Seung-gil debates answering then figures he doesn’t hate Yuri; he wants to win and it’s frustrating that Yuri ends up on the podium more often than he does.

An interesting prompt for two of my most loved ladies in the Yuri!!! on Ice universe. Thank you @lazyblizzarddefendor for requesting this. I was planning to go for pure fluff but the story decided differently. 

One Joyous Occasion

The photo albums were strewn all through the family room. All of their lives, captured in moments, so many forgotten events, and so many treasured memories. There were baby photo’s, holiday trips both as children and when they were adults, school events, family occasions, that one day no one talks about except when the album is out, and there was that photo.

Two teenage girls, not even the focal point of the picture, sitting under a tree a bottle of sake between them, sakura blossoms all around them, kissing as if they were alone in the world.

Minako lifts the photo from the album, having her finger slowly caress the edge, a soft smile on her lips. She takes a quick swig from the cup of sake Hiroko put in front of her when they had decided to go through this album.

Happy Birthday, Sorry I’m Late.

Minami looks up from his phone to the building he is in front of. He really hopes he hadn’t misunderstood the conversation they had had. He had wondered to ask somebody at first, but it had felt as if he would be showing something to private to share.

He checks his phone a second time, feeling jitters in his stomach about accidentally being at the wrong place, before opening the message app to send a request for a face-time. Soon enough his phone tells him he has an incoming face-time call.

“Hiya Guang-Hong,” Minami smiles a bit bashfully when he sees the other’s sleepy face “I know it’s a bit early but I hoped to catch you before you made any plans for the day.”

Bless your soul I'm going to cry -dyslexia prompt anon

Original prompt 

Couple things first anon, this is probably going to be a series (I also posted this on my ao3, same name as my tumblr).

Two, I actually had undiagnosed mild dyslexia in school so before anyone says anything about how Viktor is with dealing with it, I actually pulled from personal experiences… so yeah. :S 

I hope it’s the kind of thing you were looking for, maybe anon?

Whoever said high school is the best time of your life, is an idiot. 

Viktor hated school. He hated the pressure of tests and assignments. He hated the pop quizzes and the arseholes that called him stupid. Viktor knew he wasn’t stupid. He actually knew a lot about a lot of things and he was a decent dancer if anyone took the time to watch him but most didn’t.

At school he stayed quiet, hide in oversized hoodies, his long silver hair draped around his face and shoulders, mumbled sentence fragments and hanging out with his minimal friends. Viktor actually liked to learn things, he found documentaries fascinating, old books, like the ones in his own library at home were breathtaking but whenever he read them they all seemed mumbled and he felt himself tripping over words until he became so frustrated he would throw it down and go dance in his room until he felt better.

This technique of hiding, retreating in on himself, was working, he wasn’t getting fantastic grades but he was passing everything and that was enough, it’s not like his parents actually gave a flying fuck what he did anyway. It was working, until they got a new Psych teacher. She was lovely, very friendly and open about questions, changes and chance to redo things, however, she was also big on questions. She loved calling on people, singling them out, she probably thought she was being nice, giving everyone an opportunity to answer questions or write on the board.

Another prompt given to me by @lazyblizzarddefendor Asking for a story about 2 of my favorite people in the Yuri on Ice universe. So how could I ever refuse.  I’d write a dozen more of these, if people simply asked. :}

A Touch of Cold

The stares are maybe colder than the howling wind outside of the motel room they ended up getting stranded in. Why they are sharing is just a matter of dumb luck, and the being stranded sheer bad luck all wrapped into one unpleasant situation.

“I don’t care, as I’m the youngest it’s only fair if I get the bed. I know the ground is dirty but you can take the bloody chair if you think you are too good for it.” Yuri snarls out, still shivering from the melting snow that had gotten down his hoody earlier.

“I mind neither the chair nor the floor, but common rules state that if I take up either one it does mean that the bedding is mine.” His voice is forced through clenched teeth, he wishes the heating will soon start warming the room but he fears it greatly.

A Serious Deposition

“Oh, wait Ji. Let me handle that.” Leo takes the boxes from Guang-Hong’s hands and goes into the cabin the group is renting for the week. Guang-Hong shrugs and returns to the car to get the next box of groceries, only to have Chris take them from his hands.

“Do not worry ami, I’ve got this.” The cheerful wink makes Guang-Hong blush a bit. Chris though already turned to the cabin and doesn’t even see the result of his empty flirt.

In the end all Guang-Hong was allowed to carry into the house was his carry on bag, and he was fairly certain that if it hadn’t been a backpack and he hadn’t closed the chest strep they would have taken it from him as well.
