Watching TFA made me realize that this version of Megatron is kinda goofy fr, especially when he was pretending to be an Autobot 😭 so just crank that up by a million cuz he’s young 💔 watch out Optimus we’ve got a cougar hunter here

Are sentinel and elita swapped as well?

They are older in the TFA age swap au, same as Optimus! Idk who they would age swap with tho, maybe Kup? But he’s really old 😭 I want them to be in their late 30s here. I’ve decided to make them all Primes here too, really show off how they are all the perfect soldiers for the war in their own ways.

They are all close friends, but throughout the Great War their differences in what’s best for Cybertron and their soldiers really start to shine through.

Sentinel wants to follow everything by the book, and rarely ever takes the opinions of others into consideration. If Ultra Magnus orders him to do something, he makes it happen no matter the cost. If not, he takes action without asking for advice or logistics, and if he fails he usually puts the blame on others. He thinks that because he means well he should suffer no consequences.

Elita is headstrong and calculating, always aware of how her actions affect everyone. When executing an order from Ultra Magnus, she takes the liberty of keeping everything in order and lose as little as possible, even if it comes at the cost of the mission/goal. This causes her to argue with Sentinel a lot, as he doesn’t really care for other bots other than himself most of the time. She also has a bit of a dark side however, as she uses her copy ability to copy the abilities of Decepticons and tests them on POWs to see how she can use them for the Autobot cause (alludes to her descent into evil and her actions as Blackarachnia).

Optimus is caring and loyal to his allies, always lending a hand to help those around him. Ultra Magnus tends to underestimate Optimus due to his (mostly) calm personality, but he always does his best in missions and knows when it’s best to retreat. He’ll help Sentinel if he got in over his head and assists Elita in her research of how to use Decepticon abilities to their advantage. He’s a bit of a pushover as well, as he’ll sometimes take the blame for the actions of others and would hardly intervene whenever Sentinel and Elita argue. He means well though, and his earnest attempts to make others happy even during the Great War makes him a favorite amongst the troops.

What is Bumblebee and bulkheads relationship in the age swap au? Just curious,also Arcee and Ratchet as well

I answered what Bumblebee’s and Bulkhead’s relationship is like here, so let’s go with Arcee and Ratchet!

In this au Arcee is a mechanic in training instead of an intelligence officer to help her fit in better with the whole Omega Supreme situation. She is here by convenience, as she wants to gain some credits (money?) to fund her true passion of becoming a teacher. As such, she doesn’t really take her work seriously which goes against Ratchet’s personality initially.

I know her personality here differs a lot from the og series, but to be fair she didn’t even have that much of a personality there to begin with due to all that memory erasing stuff 💀 imma just give her some of her bubbly yet deadpan personality.

Ratchet always had a bit of a short fuse, he had little patience with anyone. Which made his choice of career a shock to those who knew him because why would such a rude and impatient bot become a medic? Nevertheless, Ratchet was determined to become the best medic he could become, as within that persona of his he has a soft spark that cares deeply for the wellbeing of those around him. Arcee certainly put him to the test in the beginnings of their friendship however, as she was just as insistent on butting helms with Ratchet as he was to her.

But they managed to grow close during their time at the academy, and have even teamed up to catch a Decepticon stealing important Autobot medical records and blueprints 👀 It was during this escapade that Ratchet became aware of Arcee’s true passion of becoming a teacher and he sees that she cares for the safety of other bots just as much as he does. Arcee sees that Ratchet’s seemingly angry personality is just him being worried for others but doesn’t show it in a proper way.

Their newfound understanding of one another leads to them having a tight bond that can defeat any adversary in their way! Both Bumblebee and Optimus agree that the pair is a perfect inclusion for the team while stuck on Earth, even if they need practice fighting against the Decepticons.

What is Bumblebee and Bulkheads relationship?

Their friendship goes way back from before the war, before their codenames even. Bee used to deliver packages for the energon farm Bulkhead worked at, but most of them were heavy and Bulk felt bad that Bee had to carry them from long distances. He would invite Bee to take a break and refuel and they hit it off from there.

They became even closer when they were drafted and Bee decided to follow Bulk’s career as a spacebridge technician. Since the space bridges were an advantage the Autobots had over Decepticons, their work was crucial and dangerous. They would watch each other’s backs, take hits meant for the other, and overall are extremely dependent on one another. Hopefully nothing happens that forces them to separate!!

I love the awkward baby Prowl!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I have angst. What if Lockdown heard about the last protoform that he missed and came looking for him? This is probably the replacement for Rachet since he’s never met this doctor until now.

Lockdown is such a petty old bitch in this au tbh 😭 when he finds out about Prowl being Yoketron’s student he’s gonna go crazy 💀 he’s also still gonna go after Ratchet’s EMP generator since he doesn’t have that here in this au so he’s gonna have a lot of fun on Earth

The age swap au is so interesting, I love it! Do side characters swap as well to follow the original character they were involved with? Like Lockdown for Ratchet and Wasp for Bumblebee?

Their beefs pretty much stay the same, just in different contexts! For OP and Blackarachnia, Elita was considered MIA towards the end of the Great War, so they both have a lot of time spent together before then fighting for their lives. As for Lockdown, he’s an antagonist for Ratchet and Prowl in the original series, so here he would be interested in seeing the protoform he accidentally left behind and getting Ratchet’s rare EMP generator. Bee and Wasp were enemies from long ago, basically towards the start of the Great War, so their conflict (at least on Wasp’s side) has been ongoing for millions of years.

Ok big optimus fella here. the ageswap au is very exciting and love optimus kinda sad and banged up from his time at war. he's had more time to grieve his friends and internalized years of sorrow from the war. I can imagine him as a more "conventional" optimus, very paternal of his team and tries to impart the wisdom he has(it is pretty biased and has an arc to unlearn the war time mindset he was raised with). I love a fan optimus design with a gresom scar behind his face mask dus wearing it permanently. And finally i'd love if he had an affinity for books and human stories in the way prowl became attached to earth's nature, loves the library and reads alot on this enormous kindle sumdac builds. idk with the current dynamic he and prowl don't have to trade the earth lover trait but i was just inspired

I love this take! Optimus would have a hard time adapting to times of “peace” and this extends to him struggling to connect with those under his command. Luckily he gets better at this over time!

I think in the TFA Age Swap AU he would be a better leader and fighter, but at the cost of him being able to get close with the other bots. He would exhibit a detached and commanding presence that was great for the war but not so much here with young bots who need guidance from a firm yet kind teacher.

in canon Ratchet has a history with Lockdown so who would Bee have beef with in the age swap?

He would (unknowingly) have beef with Wasp! I kinda want Wasp to age swap with Blackarachnia, but Wasp would be a little older for the plot to make sense

Idk how the whole false incarceration thing would go over, especially since Shockwave wouldn’t be there to plant the false evidence as he would come in later.

Wasp, Bee, and Bulk would’ve been part of the same platoon during the Great War that’s for sure, although they would not get along (Ironhide too ig). Maybe since tensions were high and the Autobots were actively fighting the Decepticons, Wasp was accused by Bee of holding pro-Decepticon sentiment and thrown to prison (like the Red Scare)? Or maybe he was caught by Decepticons during a battle and Bee decided it wasn’t worth it to save him (his story has some parallels to Elita’s, as they were both left behind and abandoned), leaving him to be a POW of the Decepticons?

Bee and Wasp already didn’t get along, so when it came down to it Bee would choose to save his own helm over Wasp’s (something he would gladly do for Bulkhead). Wasp was still a bully before his imprisonment, so he didn’t exactly make it a hard decision for Bee to make. The bot was already an afthole, so it makes sense that he would be a Decepticon sympathizer/not worth the effort of saving when his own life and mission are at stake.

Either way it’s Bee’s fault for his descent into madness, I suppose. Later in his life when Wasp became a Decepticon and found out where Bee was he made Blackarachnia turn him into a techno-organic so he had the strength to fight Bee without the limits of his rusty old body. Just for him to find a just-as-old bot with a deteriorating processor who forgot him entirely. Is revenge worth it if the bot you were planning to offline doesn’t even know what they did to you?

Here’s Soundwave, his responsible older sister syndrome cybercat-daughter, his unemployed music nerd twins, and his annoying yapper virtualbird-son whom he would offline for

Notes for Transformers: Redemption (context: TF au that uses TFO as a setting + elements of TFA later on, look at the tag for more info)

- R + F were minibots that were hidden by Cybertronian society along with all the other minibots

- They managed to escape their abusive caretaker facility by sneaking into the disposal system but were a bit hurt by the process

- Unlike B-127 they were able to keep their T-Cogs as Cassettes were a new addition to alt-modes and older bots wanted to research their capabilities

- Rumble was given his piledrivers by these researchers, which was a very painful procedure as his arms were destroyed then rebuilt, would hide behind Frenzy’s back all the time since then

- Frenzy is the older split-spark of the two and despite her young age manages to protect Rumble from corrupted cyberanimals when they were in hiding

- They were found by Soundwave when he was in an espionage mission and hid at an abandoned warehouse where they were resting

- Since they had nowhere else to go R + F decided to take their chances and go with Soundwave, who raised them to eventually become Minicons after Megatron killed Sentinel

- Ravage has been with Soundwave shortly after the High Guard went into hiding, she is eventually able to have a Cassette alt-mode thanks to Shockwave and R + F’s coding, the most level-headed in her family next to Soundwave

- Laserbeak is the newest addition to the family, he goes through the same operation as Ravage to get a Cassette alt-mode, very clingy to Soundwave and Ravage

- The Cassetticons get along as normal siblings do: always trying to bully each other and goof around whenever possible (very unserious, especially R + F and Laserbeak)

- Soundwave is very proud of their abilities and always tries to give them gifts, so they’re a little spoiled, he also encourages their pranks and jokes as he wants them to be happy while at war

- R + F formed a Metal band (SUPERIOR CASSETTES) to rival Rewind and Eject’s Rock n’ Roll band (The Cruising Cassettes) when they land on Earth, currently teaching Laserbeak the art of rap to make a diss track

TF AU ramble:

As a twin I HAD to make Cliff and B twin-adjacent, and in my convoluted TFO + TFA AU (which I have decided to name Transformers: Redemption FINALLY IT HAS A NAME!!!) they were split-sparks and separated at birth

Basically at the time they were born, new protoforms went from being born as fully-grown bots to literal toddlers (sparklings), and no one knew how to deal with them. This resulted in the protoforms (now known as minibots) to be hidden by all cogged and non-cogged bots, except for Sentinel and his associates. They basically just hid the minibots in a secluded area and prayed to Primus that they would eventually grow and mature to adulthood and pretend that they were never sparkling to begin with.

Cliffjumper and B were born at the same time in the same place, but Cliff took most of the spark-energy (or something like that idk) from their emergence and thus B was very weak. The bots who found them assumed that B wouldn’t make it, so they dumped him down the garbage chute so that no one would see him and took Cliff. This is how B ends up in Sub-Level 50, as he woke up on the conveyor belt and stayed there as he knew nothing else.

Since Cliff took most of the spark-energy, he has a very strong spark and resulted in him being able to lift objects he definitely should not be able to lift. I wanted him to be like an ant to match B being like a bee, so he can lift objects multiple times his own weight and it’s how he’s able to hold that massive gun without trouble.

They meet each other in Autobot Boot Camp and immediately became brothers again. The Autobots took in all the minibot sparklings after the Decepticons were kicked out of Iacon and placed in the camp to be taken cared of. They come as one unit, with B being focused on close combat and precision while Cliff is a long-range combatant and causing destructive damage.

Infantilizing bumblebee, a grown ass man is crazy.

This is actually something I’ve been thinking about in my AU! I thought I implied that B-127 doesn’t like being treated like a youngling, with him being angry that Elita won’t let him try and join the Elite Guard, but I guess not 😭 my bad 💀

In my AU, B-127 was a sparkling during the events in TFO, along with other bots who were part of the Last Generation like Cliffjumper. When the war between Autobots and Decepticons began, the AllSpark slowed down on creating any new life, so the Last Generation bots were protected by the adult bots.

B does tend to act immature and bratty at times, but that’s cuz I based his personality off of his TFA iteration. His story for this AU is that he’s the equivalent of a young adult who’s still figuring out what he wants to do with his life. He wants to be an Elite Guard so that he can be close with his friends, but they still view him as the sparkling he was when they first met him. B needs to find his own path in life, which eventually leads to him going from an Autobot delivery bot to Optimus’ personal scout.
