THINGS HAD CHANGED FOR KATE. Billy hadn't known her from the before, but he'd been brought into the fold, almost, of all of her friends - and they never stopped pretending that she was exactly who she was before everything had happened. He didn't know her, whether it was the old one or the new one, but that almost made it easier to be around him rather than the friends she'd had for years. "Maybe I just wanted to get away from class," she hummed, slim shoulders lifting in half of a shrug. "But I didn't want to be alone." She couldn't handle being alone anymore. Her chin inclines at the cigarette, one of her eyebrows lifting. "Are you going to share, or am I going to become really unattractive when I go digging through my bag for my lighter, because it's definitely at the bottom and I'll probably have to upend the entire thing to find it?"
