monty and harper chose to wake bellamy and clarke first because 

1. they share a bond with monty and brought down the mountain together. some bonds don’t break and that’s one of them. monty was the first person that clarke said goodbye to in the s2 finale and that means something. 

2. harper and bellamy have had a relationship since s1. she’s one of his gunners, one of the people that trained with him in s3. they’re a team, he’s always trusted harper and vice-versa. 

3. bellamy and clarke have proven multiple times that they’d do anything for their family. bellamy with octavia and clarke with madi. it seems like the most logical choice that they’d want that parental instinct when looking out for jordan. it’s not that they don’t trust the rest of their friends, but there’s no denying.

4. bellarke are natural leaders, and i think it’s just natural for them to choose them to find out about the news first because they trusted them to go where’s best from there. 

5. they’re a good team that have proven that despite what happens they always navigate back to one another and what’s best for their people. they trust that they’ll continue to work together and be “the good guys”.

6. they’re the main characters guys, come on already.

the whole spacekru vs clarke situation from clarke’s perspective

i love spacekru don’t get me wrong. they’re amazing and i have no hate towards them. but spacekru is literally willing to put the one (1) person that clarke had contact with over the last six (6!!!!!!) years in danger and sacrifice her. clarke was someone who was willing to die for them before, yes, and she still would, yes, but she was not willing to lose her daughter. (she still isn’t, but she’s giving madi more of her own say in it, which i mean, she’s 12 so kudos to her, my parents weren’t letting me go to parties then nevermind lead a war but okay) she’s someone who’s felt she owed something to her people for a really long time, and lost her father, wells, finn, lexa, and so many of her friends and allies for the cause of her people. 

i have an entirely other meta on how madi has softened clarke into being able to love again, cause let’s be real she’s associated love with goodbye for a really long time, but here’s this kid she tells she loves her every episode it seems. but that’s a huge thing. she loves madi, she’s desperate to keep her safe, she’s her family and that means something because she also thinks spacekru is her family until they come back and everything is different.

she then finally gets her family back, and her mother leaves her almost immediately to save kane. there’s an entire episode where spacekru plans around what to do without her present or even telling her, and then bellamy promises to protect madi and ultimately puts her in danger for “his family”; which she takes as not including her because she’s sacrificing her family for “his” family. it’s not our family, it’s “my” family. it hits her hard. she’s been wanting them to come home for years, talking to him every day, they’re still apart of her life and her hopes for the future and it all crumbles at once. and not only does it crumble, but it involves something that made her lose one of her great loves, something she fears because lexa died in her arms.

when she leaves the bunker with madi and goes back to the valley, it’s because she thinks that the only person she has is madi. she already “died” for her people once, she’s not going to make madi do it too. and then spacekru is literally willing to steal her daughter from her and take her to war, and i get their motives, trust me i do, but it seems unempathetic that no one understands clarke’s? 

she almost killed herself after praimfaya when she was alone. she screamed and pounded on the bunker doors for them to let her in. she wasn’t in the ring or the bunker and literally the only human touch she had for over six years was madi. she’s her daughter, and people asking if “bellamy will forgive clarke?” or think that the others shouldn’t seem to have lost a lot of compassion.
