Leap & Bound Academy is an academic-focused preschool that sets up students to take on later challenges. We are located in the California South Bay, with two schools in Torrance and one in Redondo Beach. Our mission as professionals is to prepare children for long-term success, beginning in a setting that is safe, healthy, and engaging. Taking care of children is a position of great trust and of responsibility, so we make safety our #1 priority. Within a safe environment, bringing fun into the curriculum helps children understand the lessons and become eager to come to class. Our academic focus gives our students a passion for lifelong learning and the skills to thrive.

Cannonball! Summer Splash Days are Back!
It’s mid July – the heart of summer – and LBA kids know exactly what that means. It’s time for summer Splash Days! Today our students got dropped off in the morning packed and ready for a day of water fun: bathing suits, beach towels, sunscreen, and a dry change of clothes. In the sunny yard of our Medical Center location, we filled up plastic pools with water and set the kids loose to play —…

Disney All Day!

Summer is here, but LBA’s 2017-18 class of kindergarteners weren’t ready to part ways just yet. Before they said goodbye to LBA and looked ahead to their new schools and the prospects of first grade, we organized one final trip for our kindergarteners and their families. What better lasting memory to have of kindergarten than a trip to Disneyland?!

No Flies Here — Just Swatter Paint!

It’s already the first day of June! The warm summer months are fast approaching, and we all know that with warm weather comes the familiar buzzing of flies. But for the time being it’s still a little cloudy in the South Bay and Ms. Djoni’s class put their fly swatters to use in a more creative way: painting!

Hooray for bubble day!
Hooray for bubble day!

Our students always look forward to Fridays because it’s the one day a week when they can bring toys from home to share with their classmates. The children have come to expect it, so it’s always fun to randomly surprise them with special days like bubble day. Bubble festivities started bright and early during morning outside play. Some children came with bubbles, while others were able to share…

Cake day!

Keeping our students healthy is one of or main priorities here at LBA. We provide balanced, nutritious meals and snacks, and encourage our students to make healthy choices and to try new foods. In addition, we serve lots of protein, whole grains, and no fried foods. While a wholesome diet is of great importance to us, we all want to enjoy a cheat day every now and then. Last month, we decided a…

Easter on Hawthorne Blvd
Easter on Hawthorne Blvd

Easter has come and gone, but the memories of running around the playground to find eggs, will forever be in the minds of our students. If not forever, at least until the next exciting thing happens here at LBA. Luckily, we have plenty of pictures to keep the memory alive.
The Easter bunny must have been really busy because the playground was full of bright, colorful eggs in every nook and…

LBA PIZZA DAY!!!

In the words of chef Auguste Gusteau, “anyone can cook”. Yesterday, our students had the opportunity to showcase their inner little chef. With pizza on the menu for lunch, it was up to the students to help make dough from scratch, and cover it with sauce and toppings. Ms. Kathryn’s, Ms. Inoka’s, Ms. Alexis’, and Ms. Taregus’ classes merged together essentially creating their very own in house…

LBA tea party!

New experiences are always exciting! We know most kids love juice and milk, but what about tea? Today, our students had a party. Not just any kind of party…a tea party! To most, if not all of them, tea was a foreign drink. They looked on with bright curiosity as their teacher steeped the tea packet in their cup of water. It was a fruit flavored tea, so it made the water turn red. The color was…

It may not be Christmas eve yet, but for the students of LBA, Santa Claus was already in town. Santa Claus made a special trip from the North Pole just to spread some early Christmas joy to LBA. For many of the students, it wasn’t a surprise that Santa was coming. The anticipation of meeting him had been building since they heard the news that he was coming weeks prior.
