Grammar: a vs ac
They both mean and!
However there's a catch.
So in general, if the next word begins with a vowel, you'd use 'ac'. If it begins with a consonant, you use 'a'.
Examples: Dw i'n hoffi coffi a te (I like coffee and tea)
Dw i'n hoffi coffi ac oren (I like coffee and oranges)

Today's phrase: Dydd Llun
Translation: Monday
Pronunciation: Deeth (basically dd is th but softer, like th in the) lleen (it's the Welsh ll and idk how to show it in familiar sounds but if you just say leen people will know what you're on about)
Mind you, you can't just shorten it to Llun! It has to be Dydd Llun.
Apologies that I missed yesterday, I've been quite busy recently!

Today's word: boeth
Translation: hot
Pronunciation: boyth (basically boy but with th at the end)
Examples:
Dw i'n casau ci poeth
(I hate hot dogs)
Also, the reason boeth becomes poeth is because of mutations in Welsh. I'll do a little section on mutations soon!

Grammar: ✨cwestiwns✨
Translation: questions
Here are the basic question words:
Beth: What?
Pronunciation: like the name Beth but the e is similar to the ai in air
Ble: Where?
Pronunciation: blai (ai in air)
Pwy: Who?
Pronunciation: poi (like oi)
Pam: Why?
Pronunciation: pam (basically ham with a p)
Pa: Which?
Pronunciation: par (like ar in argon)
Sut: How?
Pronunciation: sit
You'd usually say wyt ti/wyt ti'n afterwards. There's the formal/plural version (dych chi) but you wouldn't use it much. They translate to do you/are you.
Examples:
Sut wyt ti? (How are you?)
Pa lliw wyt ti'n hoffi?
(What colour do you like?)
Pam wyt ti'n casau siocled?
(Why do you hate chocolate)
Pwy wyt ti'n caru?
(Who do you love?)
Ble wyt ti'n byw?
(Where do you live?)
Beth wyt ti'n hoffi?
(What do you like?)

Today's phrase: llawer o
Translation: lots of
Pronunciatio: this is where it gets really Welsh. Ll is like a chluh sound. The ch here is like you're trying to do a gas mask breathing impression. I don't know if there's a similar sound in English but basically the Welsh ch is the one I'm using in this example. It should be placed near the front of your mouth but it's ok if not!
chl-ower (like shower) o (like in of but not the œf some uk say, make sure it's a proper o!
I hope you guys are doing well. Thank you SO MUCH for all the support. I love you guys 🫶
