Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday!

After several weeks working to finish this year's quilt along pattern, I'm so excited to finally be sharing it with all of you!

This new pattern is called Blackwork Roads! The design of the pattern was inspired by modern blackwork embroidery, but uses traditional quiltwork methods!

September is the first month of this quilt along project, and includes both fabric selection and piecing instructions for the first chunk of the quilt!

as a huge lover of birds, 90% of the concern against wind turbines being used for energy is literally just pro fossil fuel propaganda. birds ARE at a risk however there is a lot of strategies even as simple as painting one of the blades that reduces a lot of accidental deaths. additionally renewable energy sources will do more in favor of the environment that would positively impact birds (and all of us). one study found over one million bird deaths from wind turbines. while that is a shockingly high number and we should work to drastically shrink it, at least 1.3 billion birds die to outdoor cats on a yearly basis. it was never about caring about birds

They are olive eggers! About 14 weeks old now, from tractor supply. I think Plum is an ameraucana/copper maran cross because she's got the fluffy cheeks, and I'd assume that's what the rest are, but the other 3 weren't blessed with the cheeks

I tried to take a picture of my barred rock roo, but instead, turkey

Barred rock roo needs a name if y'all got suggestions! I've been going with plant names for my birds; Burr, Doc, Rhu, Barb (oldest birdies) my sweet barred hen is named Rosemary, turkeys are named Moss and Fern (pictured) and then Olive, Cherry, Peach and Plum (my youngest, olive eggers)

A wild Bellsprout has appeared!

I crocheted a new friend! He was a bit tricky, the smaller the pieces the worse they are to make (those feet and legs took forever) my first time using wire in crochet, he is posable!

So my stand in grandma/mom/best friend/literally saved me so many times wonder woman has cancer again, and I am not taking it well. I just figured I'd speak this into existence wherever I could. She sounded so tired and ready when she told me. Apparently a years survival rate average, but hers has a gene that could mean it's treatable. Idk I'm in shambles again

My partner bought us a wood burning kit!! My first thing besides little doodles to test it out :) I'm not such a fan of the grass shit I added at the bottom, but it does help disguise the wonky legs a bit

I forgot to update that Whalliam has been able to see for a couple of weeks now!! He is not impressed by what he's seen

This bad boy took probably like 16ish hours, at least half a bag of poly-fil, and an $8 pattern but I'm soooooo happy with it. Apparently the white yarn is slightly smaller than the blue yarn so it's a bit wonky, and needs some eyes, but I love
