The Nintendo Top will be launching with a brand new social feature Miiverse 2. According to Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa

On Nintendo Switch, sharing video and images to social media sites was deemed an important feature. Previously we had a more insulated platform in Miiverse on Wii U and 3DS. Moving to the Switch, we felt it was an important step forward to allow sharing on wider platforms. With the ways platforms such as X and Facebook have been handled in recent years, we now realize this was a mistake. The Nintendo Top will have its social media of choice in Miiverse 2, which will shield families who enjoy Nintendo products from AI generated lies, targeted hatespeech, and the whims of divorced men.

The upcoming Legend of Zelda movie is a loose adaptation of Ocarina of Time. Rather than casting for younger versions of the charaters, producer Avi Arad is confident that the cast can be digitally de-aged for any sections in the child portion of the story.

Star Fox: Gambit is currently slated to be announced at the end of the year for Nintendo Switch. One executive we spoke to had this to say:

Like with Star Fox: Zero on Wii U, we feel the perfect time to release a new Star Fox game is about a year before we launch our new console. Star Fox: Gambit will retell the original Star Fox story in an exciting new way that you can only experience on Nintendo Switch. As players are feeling excited for the upcoming Nintendo Top, we hope they will also feel excited for this iteration of a Star Fox adventure.

What is it like developing games for Nintendo Top? We interviewed developers who have been working with Top dev kits, and this is what one had to say:

It's... a lot less powerful than we had hoped. Like, less powerful than the Switch is now. It really forces you to think about what's essential to your game. Do you need 60 frames every second? Probably not. Is it necessary to display at at least 1080p? Not really. Will it hinder your game if the screen goes blank every five seconds? I like to think that players will imagine it as a special enhancement.

Limitation breeds innovation, so logically this system will lead to a whole lot of innovation.

Nintendo's next mobile venture uses the working title of Duck Hunt 2. The game is a reaction-based tapping rhythm game which tasks players with shooting ducks in time with classic Nintendo tunes.

The working title for Mario Kart on the Nintendo Top is Mario Kart Shift. The main design idea for this entry seems to be gear shifting, as all karts are now in manual transmission. Drifting is no longer mapped to a button, instead requiring strategic down shifting on sharp turns.

Super Smash Bros. is in the early stages of development for Nintendo Top. The game is targeting release during the Top's fourth year.

Early planning documents suggest the title will be a reboot of the franchise with a roster of only 24 fighters. The main design goal of the roster is to "focus on the current core Nintendo properties."

Kid Icarus Uprising: Second Wind is in development for Nintendo Top. The game is a complete remake of the original Kid Icarus Uprising. This includes complete redubbing of all dialogue. Early rumors claim Pit is set to be voiced by Nolan North in the English dub.
