A 24-year-old pro-choice Democrat, Keishan Scott of Bishopville, just won a South Carolina state representative special election by a massive 41-point lead over his Republican opponent.

He outperformed Kamala Harris's results in the same county in the 2024 presidential elections by over 37 points.

That underperformance by Republicans is probably not gonna be to the same degree everywhere in the country, but I believe this is a testament to just how unpopular they are.

I hope this is a good sign for things to come.

As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.  It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms 

As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.  As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.

Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.

www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.

http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.

www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.

www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.

www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free

so the trevor project has done some really shady shit over the last year to their employees— transphobia going unaddressed WITHIN the company, poc quitting due to racism and no recourse, no communication or transparency from leadership, turning off public channels making it harder for people to reach out, hiring unqualified individuals in powerful leadership positions, unfair expectations for workers and pushes for productivity (for a suicide hotline!!), and much more.

the workers at trevor worked hard to become a union a few months prior due to the emotional and physical toll the job was taking on them and NOW trevor is talking about huge layoffs within the company for sudden, mysterious financial reasons— even tho they just received a government grant and started hiring for 988 (and even tried to layoff brand new hires for this) and it’s pride month in which they get the highest donations of the year.

so now on top of all the bullshit the workers have been dealing with prior to this— trevor is trying to union bust by pushing for layoffs and then posting NON-UNION jobs directly after ‘discussing the layoffs’

—this is completely unacceptable and actual bullshit for a place that is supposed to be safe for lgbtq+ individuals with the intent to help suicidal teens/adults. It’s not possible to support lgbtq+ youth while feeling attacked, hated, oppressed, and siloed. It’s unsafe and unhealthy and trevor should be ashamed for allowing all of this to happen and then trying to scare people away from the union.

but I found a post that was if you struggle with hygeine, taking care of yourself, cleaning the house, etc, able-bodied and mentally stable people have no right to comment on how you live your life and I completely agree, 100%, no notes, just wanna add something.

This is an alum stone aka a sheba stone. When I tell you this is a GAME CHANGER. Greasy, oily, and BO are all major sensory icks for me and I was somewhat skeptical about how useful this was because I've had the saltstick deodorant things before and they did Nothing, but one day I applied it directly to my armpits when they smelt pretty bad and within like 10 or so minutes the smell had been completely neutralized. I don't mean nose blindness I mean I got a second opinion and they didn't smell.

Unlike my current deodorants - which I've been using for several years in place of my Wolfthorn Old Spice - it isn't greasy and I don't need a sleeved shirt as a buffer. You just get the stone wet, rub it on there, I go until it needs to be re-wet, let it dry, and et voila you can go about your day
