Round 7 - Newbie

Kids next door

-Hey, daddy? - Brandi creeped behind her father, scaring him a little. - Whoah, hi there, Brandi! What is it? - Say, when you travel for work, do you look for Cassandra? - Not exactly, but if I found her, I'd bring her back with my team. - Will you look for me if I got kidnapped?

Bob turned.

-What are you talking about, baby girl? Of course, I'll be looking for you. I don't have to be working to do that. - Do you think the aliens will come for me too? - ...aliens? - They kidnapped Cassandra. Maybe they love kidnapping girls? I am a girl, are they going to take me too? - No-o-o, Brandi, it's not that. Besides, me and mom will protect you from them.

Brandi turned back home, sulking. - I kinda want to be abducted, though... Aliens are cool.

Later that same night, the boys had a similar converation.

-So-o, that's basically it. - Daniel whispered. - My parents are all and up on this whole kidnapping thing. You know my pops. But my mom! She said she actually found them one night! Imagine that! - So-o cool! - Yeah, but y'know. Now we're stuck as kids, and sometimes get very sick. That sucks. - Hey, you met Lunar, right? I think he knows something too. We should, like, gather up and have, I dunno, a secret society. No grown-ups! - Ye-e-es! So, just come to my backyard anytime. Just say you came to play with me or something.

Happy that they came up with some crazy idea to do things none of their parents wanted to do, the boys turned each to their homes.

-Oh hey, Dan. - Brandon called out. - What about girls? Can i bring my sister? She is a fan for alien stuff. Daniel made a disgusted face. - No-no-no. The situation is serious, so... I don't mind girls joining for the brainstorm. But your sister? Hell naw, she creeps me out! Please don't.

Round 6 - Mashuga

Genie, genie of the baths. Show me answers, show me paths.

-Oh, I'm sorry, I can clean this tub later... - the maid stumbled into the red master-bathroom. -No worries, Brigit. I'm sure you've seen weirder things in other houses. You don't mind, purple mister, right? -No-no, to the contrary, I am always ready for some unexpected conversations. Or wishes. -How true this is... about weird things... - Brigit mumbled to herself, not really surprised by anything in her life anymore.

As usual, Sylvia Marie was focused on magic and otherwordly aspects of their lives in this neighborhood. Her current goals were to find a way to pop the timeless bubble, but she had her suspicions that it might unravel many more undesirable consequences, perhaps even more dangerous than their current predicament.

Genie, while he couldn't answer all Sylvia's questions outright, hinted that, indeed, the situation is way more complex.

Round 6 - Bachelor

House of tensions

Due to constant disturbances from Chris' team and other protestors, Michael and Shelan decided to "run away" on a little vacation to rest and calm down, and to try out this new spot that was discovered (and apparently "allowed") under the timeless cap.

While they were away, yet another burglary attempt was made, but thanks to Michael's inventions, the protection system went off and a young criminal was quickly apprehended.

-How was the trip? - Mortimer inquired when he visited the household after both Michael and Shelan were back. -It's alright. The coastline is quite lovely, I do recommend you take your vacations there too. -And what about work? -I... managed to get something.

Shelan passed over an interesting figurine of a unicorn.

-I couldn't find anything else for the time being. Not like I would be able to dig around with Michael somewhere near me. But this statue... is kind of peculiar in its own way. -I agree, we could work with this. But I wanted to know how was your "actual" work? -Oh, I'm... editing videos. -No progress in finding anything about your relatives? -I'm afraid not...

Mortimer sighed. -You've helped around so much, Shelan, especially with anything that has to do with our children, that I am kind of embarassed our community is unable to return the favor. But finally, I might have met someone who looks like you a lot, and I thought... just maybe... you and this person could be related?

Shelan perked up. -Whoever this person is, I'd like to meet them.

Round 6 - Roomies

My job is to sabotage

-And so... if I could ask you to stop interrupting my work? Inexchange for the "cure", of course? - Michael inquired during dinner in the Roomies household. -Not in a million years, Michael Bachelor. You sneaky-sneaky little bastard. We don't need no help from the likes of you. - Chris cut him off rudely. -But... aren't you worried about-- -Lunar is perfectly fine. Besides, Lunar did get a present from a friend, right, my man? -Oh, you mean my new bracelet? - the boy looked up. - Yeah...

A couple days ago, Sionna sneaked out on a mission and quietly knocked on Lunar's window. Brianna has weaved a hand-made bracelet with the help of her mother and wanted to give it to Lunar as a gift. But fell ill with simple cold and couldn't present it herself.

The bracelet "was meant to drive bad spirits away", as Sylvia Marie told her, and Sionna passed down the same information to her sister's best friend.

-Yeah, so, no. Get outta here, Michael. Try something new, bargaining with the best bargain-master wouldn't work now, would it?

Chris made it her mission to bother Michael Bachelor, her and her goons and followers were trying every possible prank or crime on him almost each night. They hacked, broke into his labs, stole data... Michael came to negotiate peace, but unfortunately for him, both Chris and Melissa were on the opposing team - the team that wanted their time back. And Melissa allowed Chris to run rampant as long as other folks from the neighborhood weren't affected.

-Look, then I'll just have to take some dangerous precautionary measures... Just saying. -What are you gonna do, cry to your sister about it? -How about yes? You don't know her contact list... -Actually, you both can go and fuck off with those aliens, I don't care and I'm not scared. -We... wait, what?! -I've been there myself, Michael. You know, though I hit my butt hard while landing, even so I still felt so-o much better than what your crazy family is dealing with right now... Better luck negotiating with your patrons next time, I guess? At least my kids are not getting kidnapped for nothing. Just sayin.

Round 6 - Pleasants

Not_So Pleasant

-Thanks, Luther! You didn't have to wash the dishes... - said Diane. -No worries. Thank you for the delicious dinner.

Jeff was very uncomfortable. What was on Diane's mind, he did not know, but this boy! The audacity. Clearly, he was trying to hit on his wife right in front of his eyes.

-Do you know who I am? - men quietly argued over the game of checkers. -I don't know, obviously a relative of the Pleasants? - sarcastically responded Luther. -I am Diane's husband! -Sorry, mate, you look more like her grandfather to me. -You will respect me, boy! I am from the military too, so don't you dare, unless you are that stupid to insult our family like that. -Aw, boo-hoo, I am so sorry mister commander. It was so-o-o bold of me to disrespect a bald man like that.

Later that night, Pleasant spouses argued.

-Diane, you understand me, don't you? You know how I feel. Can't you see why I might be worried? - But I can't just go to my boss and tell him just that, that Luther and I can no longer be partners because what, my husband is jealous? Besides, is that how you think of me? That I'll just... go with it as is? -I would prefer if you stayed at home, actually. As a homemaker. -What now? Now you tell me to quit? -Not exactly, but... - You know what, Jeff? I think I was a very good wife. Maybe too good for you. I raised two kids, brought the most beautiful human beings into this world. I kept our house clean and everyone fed. I supported your dreams, Jeff. While you were obsessed with aliens and other childish stuff, I stayed behind your back. Looks like the appreciation is one sided though. So I don't see why I should keep accommodating you and your feelings anymore.

Diane slammed the bedroom door in front of Jeff's face, indicating he was going to sleep on the couch today.

-Besides, - she opened the door again. - You spent what, 15 years chasing clouds? And you haven't proved aliens' existence even still. Well, guess what, husband, it took me and Luther one night of investigations and one article to do exactly that. Who exactly should quit their job now, huh?

And she slammed the door shut once more. Leaving Jeff absolutely flabbergasted.

Round 6 - Goths

Extra-terrestrial communications

-Father, play another one! -Yeah-yeah, can you play Twinkle again? -Alright, children! But only until Bella comes home.

Over the next several days Bella's head was almost exploding in excrusiating pain. She was hearing familiar voices, calling out to her, but refused to aknowledge them, in fear. Her family didn't know that, though, so everyone just tried their best to keep quiet and help Bella out with chores and other stuff.

-I wonder if doctors can help our mother. - wondered Cassandra one night, chasing stars with her beloved telescope, and she wasn't alone. The little girl has befriended ghosts of the past, now that she was almost like them. Her ancestors liked her back. -It won't stop until she meets "them" again. - one of the apparitions replied. -Whom? -Aliens. They've been waiting for her for too long.

One night Bella broke down and sneaked out deep into the night. -Fine! I have nothing substantional to report to you, but fine! Take me. - she spoke towards the sky. Soon, a glimmering light surrounded her, and her body was lifted up.

What she did not expect is that her daughter happened to see this happening out her bedroom window.

-Oh no, mom?! No! - little girl ran down outside. - Give her back, stupid aliens! I can't believe Uncle and Bratty were right about you- woah!

And the little girl was thrown upwards, immediately after her mother.

The next morning in the Goth household was eerily silent. Mortimer found no one, except Alex, to wake up. As soon as the sun rays hit their roof, with a clapping sound, Bella found herself on the ground again, lying in the grass.

-I will not accept this... Not when you have my girl! - she screamed towards the sky.

I kid you not!?

I just got Bella AND Cassandra abducted by aliens?? On the same day (night?) Bella wasn't even back on the lot yet!!

Jesus, probabilities in this game are simply too crazy sometimes. You try roleplaying in this game, and it roleplays you back HARD.

Round 6 - Newbies

Picture-perfect family

To celebrate Betty's promotion further down the Politician ladder, the family organised a small dinner between closest households: them, Goths and Roomies. Later the same evening, Mortimer quietly revealed to the new City Council that the timelessness influence is expanding, and soon several other regions in this world are going to be affected. And although Betty was initially supporting the idea of eternal life, she changed her opinion and started to agree with her husband and Mortimer.

Bob had this idea of spending their weekend in the forest camp near the sites where he has been working all this time as a ranger. He thought this experience would be very good for the kids. As soon as cabins and entertainment spots were prepared, he proposed going there. Betty accepted, but only with the condition that they were going to sleep somewhere warn and under the roof, with working showers and such.

They also burned their breakfast, distracted by this talk and their rekindling romance.

Children took their lessons about the great outdoors to hearts, it seems. Everybody had a great time, played games and explored around.

-Wow, mom! I didn't know you could use bows! - Brandon was very impressed when he saw Betty shooting away at targets. - I didn't know, either! - Betty replied. - But feels like I do enjoy unusual activities once in a while.

Round 5 - Mashuga

Pink is flamingos

Sylvia Marie had to quit her job to take care of young Sionna, although she kept helping out other folks around the neighborhood unofficially, like Bella Goth, for example. Other than that, everything was fine and quiet in the Mashuga family.

Brianna adored her little sister and they shared many common interests. Sionna aspired to be like Brianna, and Brianna was also too happy to have a girlie by her side. They spent lots of time playing and gossiping, while their parents lounged outside by the pool.

It was also quite obvious that Brianna and Lunar, by pure chance, became close friends as well. They often visited each other's homes, and Brianna was just oversharing to her sister afterwards.

Though none talked to their parents about it, Frankie and Sylvia Marie kind of picked up on everything and quietly enjoyed watching how young relationship started blooming from afar, reminiscing about their own old days. _____

IF ONLY kids could grow up in the Sims 1! There is just too much potential for high school sweetheart romance development, I'd DEFINITELY match those two up if I had any means to make them teenagers or smth. My heart, god, they're just too cute not to end up together, I ship it hard.

Can't stop posting about my kids, last round was apparently some kind of a baby-boom run. And since I took about half a year off playing, I already forgot a lot. So, hey again, that's Sionna Mashuga, and she is the happiest little cloud. She looks so much like Bob Ross, I literally can not! You go girl.

Round 5 - Bachelor

Or for worse

-Brother, I am desperate, please do something! One day, Bella rushed to Michael's house with Cassandra and Sylvia-Marie. Her daughter's consition was worsening despite her best effort, hence Sylvia's introduction to the scene - as a paranormal researcher, she also tried her best to stabilize the little girl.

What they all did not account for, was that Shelan was at home as well. The overall scene and their discussions have disturbed her greatly.

-I can't take it anymore, Michael, - she told him after a screaming match ensued. - This is very wrong, children are affected, we all are affected. And me, stuck in this mess with you all? Do something and help me get out of this cursed town. I have to find my father no matter what, and who knows how much time has passed out there.

It took several weeks for Shelan to calm down. Her relationship with the Goths / Bachelors felt like a roller-coaster, but in the end she found peace, and their friendship with Bella was stronger than ever.

Women supported each other and discussed many of the problems, and though Bella told some snippets of info about the whole experiment, she kept some details in the shadows. Nevertheless, she promised her friend that they were still looking for ways to help her reunite with the loved once from the "outside", and also promised that travelling further away from the town would soon become possible.

Michael, too, grew fond of his roomate and a "partner in crimes", and offered Shelan to start an official relationship. Or at least try doing so. After pondering the question, Shelan agreed to it in the end.

-But just so you know, I do not want to create a family. Not yet, when I have no family of my own behind my back. And... not when the children are suffering. -It's alright. We are going to be working towards the better future still, won't we?

Round 5 - Roomies

Neighborhood-wide Network

-Good luck at your first day at school, Lunar! - Melissa was there, when the boy entered the school bus. - I'll be back by the time you finish too, but auntie Chris has to work at night, as you know, so don't worry too much if she's not home. -Okay, mom!

"Kids grow up so fast" she thought to herself. And she was quite worried, since the anomaly sickness was rampant around children from the neighborhood, and Lunar has just hit "that" age when he wouldn't be able to grow up anymore.

Melissa sought solutions around town as a detective agent, along with other friends from this cursed city. Chris did the same, but in a different way. It helped that she was close friends with Bella Goth, and Bella seemed to trust Chris with quite a lot of information.

Chris, the criminal mastermind she is, skillfully gathered and distributed quite a lot of details about the time anomaly, children's sicknesses, possible cures and aliens, personally or via her subordinates, but it was not enough yet to make a serious breakthrough.

Also, Lunar and Brianna became close friends since Lunar's first appearance at school. Frankie and her daughter often visited the Roomies household to hang out and gossip, of course.

By the way, please meet Lunar Roomie, he grew up in the previous round but I didn't catch his photo at the time, it was only for one in-game day. And he is such a sweetheart, there is literally nothing he could hate. He is interested in everything, no topic has lower than 3 points.

I am in love how diverse this household came to be.

Round 5 - Pleasants

Night Owl Duty

-Hey, - Daniel said to his sister. - Maybe we can order something today? I love dad but his cooking is... -I know, right? - Jenn agreed. - I miss times when mom used to meet us and prepare delicious meals right away.

Diane was working night shifts at her journalist job, and so housekeeping duties unexpectedly crashed on Jeff. He was not prepared for this, and their house was constantly either on fire, or flooded.

Diane, however, was also surviving on pure caffeine as she struggled to keep up with her work demands. It just so happens that she got several promotions in a row, which at the time made her sleepless for 3 days when her schedule was changing non-stop. So, it was one cup of coffee, a one-hour long rest, and she got to go again.

She wondered if it had anything to do with her "secret" scoop coverages in regards to the recent events in the neighbourhood.

-Darling, you do know that I am worried about you, right? - Jeff asked one day, when they both happened to have a day off. -I know but it's totally worth it. I feel how important my work is, and you'll never going to guess what exactly I am working on. -What is it? - ... aliens, - Diane whispered.

To Jeff, this was an instant connection. They grew rather apart in the recent years, and to suddenly find out that you and your wife are actually working towards the same goal!

-Oh, hi Luther! - Diane waved to the man across the lake. -Who's this? -A colleague of mine. We met Downtown once and ended up on the same team of journalists, when we found out we are sharing a workplace. -A colleague, huh...

Round 5 - Goths

For the better...

Bella felt that something was happening behind her back, although she didn't quite understand what exactly. Nevertheless, she wanted to secure her position as the popular influencer, the business woman, and the good mother. And there have been many things she kind of missed in regards to the latter.

-Here you go, missy. - Bella gave her daughter a plushie bear. -Mom... wow, thank you! -Look, Cassy, sometimes parents act like foolish kids, even though they're grown ups, and I apologise if I made you sad. I hope you can forgive your mother for that. -It's okay... -Relationships are important, Cassandra. Remember to reach out to others when you feel lonely. Now come, hug me, dear. Everything's going to be good from now on.

Inspired by her mother's good gesture Cassandra, for the first time, decided to reach out to her best friend from the past and invite her for pizzas. Jennifer was so happy to hear from her she agreed to visit immediately, despite their low relationship level.

Round 5 - Newbies

Figuring out the steps

-And that's why I need your help, Betty, Melissa... - Mortimer was discussing recent evens with what could be the most influental women in the neighbourhood after the Goth family. A Chief of Police and a Political Manager. They needed to prepare themselves and other people for upcoming trials.

-Someone needs to tell Diane about this too. Who knows what she'll be writing in her papers afterwards. Let's keep her on board.

Then Betty started her slow work to create her political image. Up to this point, the city has only seen icons of style and fame with the Goths on top. She needed to gain the trust of others as a political figure, however.

Unfortunately, the Newbies were yet another example of a family that could not agree about the flow of time. Betty, while not necessarily wishing to live an eternal life, thought of the whole ordeal as an opportunity to regain what was lost. She still had a somewhat hard time figuring out her wishes and plans for the future and for herself. Their family had cracks, and Betty wanted to fix everything before it became too late, and there's no "late" in eternal.

Bob disagreed with that point of view. Time didn't fix anything to him, actions did. Moreover, he was worried for the kids.

Round 4 - Mashuga

A Family Divided

-What sly foxes these Goths are. First, they're celebrating the opening of Downtown, then what? A private meeting in the neighbourhood about a timelapse calamity or something? Ridiculous. - Sylvia Marie ranted at the dinner table. - Did you know something about it already, honey? - Of course I knew something's up with this place. But I couldn't have imagined... - Well, which "camp" are you? - Frankie asked. - Naturally, for the normal flow of time to be restored. That's preposterous! Only evil spirits bargain with eternity. - I kinda like the idea to enjoy life forever... - Darling, no!

The active household of Mashuga had active discussions as well as active love life. The house had already heard little feet stomping around, and soon another pair is going to join. The family was now raising two daughters: Brianna and Sionna.

Brianna looked like a little copy of her mom, but in character took after her father. Both parents were interested in outdoor activities, and Brianna was evidently following their footsteps in that.

What becomes of Sionna is to be seen when she grows up :)
