Have you considered that I openly talk about being asexual and aromantic because I felt like I was a freak of nature for not being able to relate to other people and I don't want anybody feeling in any way like I did? Shoving asexuality and aromanticism under the rug encourages people to feel isolation and alienation - which isn't good. Talking about asexuality and aromanticism and informing people about such identities is important whether or not you are ace or aro. If it bothers you, then you can leave these spaces. Ace and aro people deserve to talk about their identities and advocate for acceptance and understanding.

in retrospect, video rental stores *would* probably still exist today in some capacity had it not been for blockbuster. the nostalgia for the blockbuster browsing experience undermines the reality of how aggressively the chain snuffed out smaller video rental stores and would eventually become notorious for its abusive late fee collection policy once there were no significant competitors standing. the rise of streaming is often attributed to blockbusters demise, but what’s not often recognized is how netflix’ earliest (and most successful) marketing tactics were in fact advertising the absence of the aforementioned terrible late fees as opposed to the convenience of not having to go to the store. I was actually surprised to find out how much of blockbuster’s demise can be attributed to spiraling out of control as it attempted to manage viacom’s ever increasing debts than to the fact that people just naturally gravitated towards streaming (which is not to say that it wouldn’t have happened eventually, but).

hey yall, im a trans poc that can't work trying to pay off medical bills, get on disability, and move.

on top of all this my boyfriend just lost is his job today so we dont have any current income.

i currently owe about $1,500 in medical bills that are already in collections and i have upcoming appointments with a neurologist and to get my wisdom teeth out that are both going to be expensive.

im also moving in two months and going through the tiring process of trying to get disability, which on average takes years.

i can't hold a job in any capacity because im physically disabled and have debilitating schizophrenia.

my current goal is ~$3,000 dollars just to pay off my current and upcoming medical bills and get me and my partner to our new place. if you have anything to spare and want to help us out it would be greatly appreciated and i will try to keep this post updated with any funds i receive.
