How to explain that I want people to be entirely unable to comprehend what I am in public but also pass fully as a man - maybe I like androgyny maybe I don’t one things for sure femininity is a costume androgyny is probably also a costume and masculinity is the dress code but I can break it as I please - expect me to show up as a man but don’t expect anything at all - don’t label me as something don’t force me into a box I am just a person and nothing else matters but also the most important part of my identity is that I am a guy. My sexuality is sort of and really but not at all and all at once - people who know me have spent more time questioning my sexual preferences than I have and maybe I don’t actually know what I want but why do you even care - the first time I even realized I might want to feel love was that line in that one song about falling asleep in someone’s car and as I write this I am acutely aware that I don’t actually feel like anything at all and none of this stuff means anything…

rant about a sort-of heavy topic lol:

This has probably already been discussed to death but as a trans guy one thing I didn’t expect to have to get used to was people blaming every “bad” thing u do on the fact that ur a man.

Specifically when it’s for shit I’ve always done, I notice a lot of supposedly “supportive” people make it all about me being trans. The most recent example I have is when I was out drinking with my sister and her friends, and was slightly ahead of the group. They were kinda annoyed at me for walking fast (which is fair tbh). I mean always tend to be either way ahead/behind whenever I go anywhere w a group of people - but on this day one of my sisters friends was calling out stuff along the lines of, “if you wanna be a boy so bad you’ll have to learn to respect us ladies.” Which kinda surprised me considering she’d been super respectful every time I talked to her.

Even online I’ve noticed this sort of mentality becoming more commonplace. It’s not like it’s something I haven’t considered many times before. I do feel grief about how if I start “passing” once I go on testosterone there’s a certain level of privilege I’ll be awarded in public, or even the possibility I’ll be perceived as the same type of person I used to be so afraid of. Like I get that. But I think it’s weird how people genuinely believe the act of announcing ur a guy instantly gives you cis-male level privilege.

Aside from me having a very youthful & androgynous appearance, how are you unable to conceptualize any possible danger in identifying as male but having to use ID marked female when u go out? Or - I don’t know,, loudly announcing to a crowd of people in a dark alley late at night that the person you’re referring to is trans??? (In a country where certain people are lowkey weird about trans ppl :/ (which is lowkey like every country atm))
