Forgive

I did the best I could with the amount of time, energy, and knowledge I had at the moment. I am a part of nature; like crashing waves or seasonal fruit trees. I will not be perfectly consistent. I am not failing or falling behind, it makes sense why it didn't work out. I didn't have the resources or people that I needed to complete that thing successfully. I will find them. It is everyone's first time living and we are all learning hot to navigate it together. I forgive it all.

Moments

I love those moments when you realize you've come so far. Like when someone makes a comment that would have ruined you a year ago and now it's rolling off your back. Or the deep breaths you take instead of letting the panic suffocate you. It's the way you hold onto your boundaries, even though it scares the hell out of you. It's the grace you show yourself when you're reminded you aren't perfect. Sometimes these things seem little, but they're pieces of yourself that you've been working on for so long, that you often miss it when they come together. Don't overlook the strength that lives within you. Don't let yourself forget how far you've come.

When you choose to love someone who is damaged you take on the weight of their past, their pain, and their guilt. You must be strong. You must be patient. You can stop the bleeding and help them scar over, but they will always, ALWAYS, be a little broken. If you can handle that, if you can accept the dents and cracks, if you can get them to trust you, you will never find a better ally than the one who is damaged. Above all else, they know about survival.

Sometimes you have to acknowledge a feeling, let it get under your skin, feel it drag on your feet, then let it settle. Let it disappear. Let it reappear. And then let it be as it always was and accept the world from beginning to end.

You’ll find me standing far from home. Above the ocean, all alone. I’ve gone in search of something new. Another world is hidden in the blue. Looking to finally be set free from this life so I can see. I’ve had the light drained from my eyes, as the glow of the sunset dies. I lay me down among the flowers, to pass the sleepless hours, watched by the cold and distant moon, as oblivion comes to take me away.
