“Oh, be sure I will.” the mercenary relaxed a little, but still kept a wary eye on the assassin. The foreign man might be claiming to not be an enemy this time, and as another former hired blade he had no reason to find it untrue, but it wasn’t enough to fully trust him either.

“Hard to call that following, we weren’t exactly on best terms” he shrugged. “As for joining the Hawk, no, I ain’t making that mistake again.” 

He had heard about Griffiths new kingdom, and made a note to steer clear of it. While he was desperate to find a safe haven from the demons he had to deal with ever since, searching for it under the wing of the man responsible for putting him in this situation in the first place felt beyond foolish. Besides, the way his previous loyalty was repaid with tossing him away like a slab of meat to be devoured was not something he was willing to forget nor forgive.

“Why does that matter to you, anyway? For someone who says he doesn’t have any business with the Band of the Hawk anymore you’re strangely nosy about it.”

“Fascinating. And what mistake would that be, exactly? Sources have told me everything up until your group’s heroic jailbreak those years ago.”

“And my business and my interests are not always the same.”

He paused, weighing his decision to share further.

“I am trying to discern the number of people who blindly follow the Hawk, and why they do so. His hold over the minds of the people who surround him appears terrifyingly absolute, and the loyalty that he has inspired in them could tip into a fervor.”

He turned, pacing a few feet, his eyes searching the ground for an answer he’d yet to find.

“Yet the few survivors of his original mercenary group refuse to follow him, and even actively oppose him. The ones who, I would suspect, know him better than the rest. I hope my curiosity then, regarding the single most powerful man in the world at this moment, is understandable.”

Corkus looked at the man with suspicion, his hand by instinct resting on the hilt of his sword, ready to unsheath it if needed. "I remember that too, you got your ass kicked, quite literally. So what are ya doin' here, came to finish the job?"

“I was... temporarily outmatched. A frustration that has been dealt with.”

“That bounty was fulfilled when the Band of the Hawks disappeared, and nobody has paid me for your head. Therefore you can keep it.”

He stood back, his arms taut as coiled springs. He was surprised to find yet another survivor, and wondered again what could possibly have happened. 

But those were not questions to be asked just yet.

“So, do you know follow the Black Swordsman as well? Or are you, perhaps, joining the new Band of the Hawk, and following the so-called Hawk of Light?”

RIP Kentaro Miura

“I remember those 'we have to stay alive for the next berserk chapter' tweets back then. while the story may not be 'complete', its message is still an end in itself. To struggle against insurmountable darkness and find hope amidst the crevices — this is enough. It's everything.”

At the end of the day, Berserk was anti-nihilist and hopeful. It showed that struggling against the worst that life could throw against you would let you see a light at the end of the tunnel.

This work has impacted my life personally on a huge level, and has impacted many artistic mediums in ways that can never fully be fathomed. Rest in Peace, Miura. And thank you for Berserk.

I’m gonna be clear:

I’m absolute shit about being consistent on here.

Silat is like... that uncle who comes in every few years and says hi. You like seeing him and hanging out, and he’s a fun dude. And then he fucking disappears and you’ve got no idea where he went or when he’ll be back.

That’s Silat.

There are times when I get a bit down about not being able to generate a huge amount of traction with Silat or Luca, and I start to feel stagnant.

FAVORITE MUSE(S) YOU’VE WRITTEN: Probably the first, Kenpachi.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO TAKE ON YOUR CURRENT MUSE ( THAT YOU ARE POSTING THIS ON ): I wanted to get into the Berserk RP scene, but I didn’t want to be the 7th Guts to do so. I briefly considered other soldiers like Pippen, or possibly Boscogn, or even Azan. As I kept reading I really ended up liking Silat and his character growth. Been a blast ever since.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ASPECTS OF YOUR CURRENT MUSE: He’s definitely a huge badass, probably second behind Guts as far as human fighters go (actually him vs Serpico would be cool to see). But he’s also just human; I appreciate that he sees all this mystical shit and goes “nope, I don’t like it”. He’s an extremely intelligent and strategic person, which is a lot of fun to play. Also having him take himself a bit too seriously can be highly amusing.

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION WHEN IT COMES TO WRITING:  Panic.

FAVORITE TYPES OF THREADS:  As much as I love one-liners, my favorite is any time we can get into a good solid story. Usually this takes a bit of plotting, but if we can come up with something deeper than “they fought” (which is kinda tough given these characters) it can be really cool.

BIGGEST STRUGGLE IN REGARDS TO YOUR CURRENT MUSE:  He hasn’t been horribly fleshed out in canon, and so giving him personality and trying to make him both interesting and believable without becoming OOC is always a challenge. So far I seem to have found a good couple quirks to build him around, but it is still tough at times. Also the fact that he just straight-up wouldn’t hold his own in a fight against a huge portion of the Berserk universe, so I have to try and think of how he would either avoid or circumvent violence in such meetings.
