"Transfer Cubes" Andrew Schmidt 2012
Dimensions Variable Wood, Paint, Resin, Foam, Glue, Quartz Crystals, Quartz Crystal Cluster, Aqua Aura Quartz Crystal, Rainbow Aura Quartz Crystal, Pink Lemurian Seed Crystals
These are called “Transfer Cubes.” Each one has a different set of symbols, languages, and crystals on them. They represent different aspects of arcane knowledge and are supposed to imbue you with the knowledge by holding them. In this photograph they are arranged in a power grid to charge the central tree and communicate with the forest.

Layering the masks to see what effect it creates. The material created a 3D effect when layered that I found interesting.

Making the voodoos and the stuffing process. I sewed them and left gaps for the stuffing. I used a variety of fillings, poly-down, paper, lentils, To get the desired effect and enough to play with during filming.

Aleister Crowley has in an extremely short time become one of the most fascinating individuals I have ever come across. He embraced an interest if not a life in Western Esotericism. He was a member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, which was one of the biggest influences of occultism in the 20th century. He was rumoured to be recruited as a spy for British Intelligence, founded his own religion, and is listed on the BBC's 100 greatest britons.

Black Magic symbolism and style incorporated into cooking. It's quite clever to be honest, you can tell all of the objects have been quite carefully chosen so it looks like some sort of pagan ritual.

Tried my first mask out today and the transformation is insane. So it'll be good to know everyone will look exactly the same just like a little cult.

Some interesting shots using light projection from the propaganda video "Dr Mabuse". This hand chasing people around, and a face projection on someone's face thats covered with material. The video is really 80's and kinda campy but some of the shots are really effective.

Se7en - Opening Titles (by Ryan Mayer)
Another Opening sequence in the same vein to American horror story, the style i'm looking for with choppy camera shots and disturbing soundtrack etc. Works so well.

Another of the same exhibition/openings by Sanghon Kim, this was for Nike stadium Paris opening. It was entitled "black magic" pulling inspiration from superstitions, animals, colours, and a spell to promote strength, agility and speed. Another beautiful collection of work here, works so well to incorporate magic and superstition into a global branding and illustrative project. Works so well. Art direction, illustration, and set design, with gifts including a catalogue, posters and t-shirts. :(

An Agency Project that an Artist called Sanghon Kim has done for Nike, looking into mystical influences in sports etc. The exhibition included work of set design, graphic design and art direction. A silk scarf, cards in a box, and posters, were given as gifts. This work is beautiful, it's simplistic, well executed and creates a wonderful atmosphere of light and wellbeing.

The voodoo dolls are nearly all printed and ready to go. Just trying to arrange all the stuff for the filming of it all. Trying really hard to be organised and professional here.
