I’ll laugh until my head comes off

I’ll swallow ‘til I burst

If I had to explain it to someone

I guess I would say,

“Envision a dulled metal mess -

Let’s call it a knife to your throat

And heat - A lot of heat

Filling up behind your eyes

Now, imagine a flood

Of retrograde memories

A painful tsunami or maybe some rain

Filled of that time, that day

The jugular snips with sleight of hand

A crimson waterfall to lake

Be careful not to swim away

With your mind a charred mess

Of wet dead ash”

I think that’s what I would say

It felt like that day

But only if you asked

I feel like I am nothing.

I know that I am nothing.

Empty. Used.

Sold for cheap labour,

Or a discounted price.

Nothing is as nothing does.

The Earth moves,

And yet I am nothing.

Dust to the shoreline.
