Suzanne collins wrote a trilogy where a main media propaganda strategy was to market a horrific act of violence as a love story to distract ppl and then it got adapted into a box office breaking movie and ppl made it all about the love triangle. so then since they didn’t get the point the first time Suzanne collins wrote a prequel story about the main dictator and she makes it so that you as a reader want it to be a genuine love story so badly even tho it’s so very clearly not and instead feels extremely unsettling to make her point even more meta which then gets adapted into another box office breaking film and now ppl are making romantic snowbaird tik toks. do u think she’s gonna write another book that’s somehow even more blatant or just give up and start executing ppl? hard to say but I wouldn’t blame her for the second one

When you say a fandom is dead, it’s a bit of a blow to people who are still producing and enjoying work for that fandom. You’re basically saying what they’re doing doesn’t matter, doesn’t count, which might discourage them from continuing to participate.
If one person is creating content, the fandom isn’t dead.
If one person is consuming content, the fandom isn’t dead.
If two friends are chatting on skype about their OTPs, that’s fandom.
If someone doodles drawings of their favorite characters on a napkin, that’s fandom.
Just because someone is producing content for one fandom doesn’t mean they have to leave another.
Not every fandom can be the big, new, shiny and popular thing.
Not every fandom *should* be the big, new, shiny, and popular thing.
It’s okay to have small, tight-knit fandoms. They can be just as fulfilling and entertaining as the big ones.

the argo trials: family
“The house of El has been tied to Krypton’s history since Val-El, even before that,” she answers. “Rao knows I’ve read every variation of the name El since the moment I became part of the Artisans Guild. Some people even consider the house of El to be blessed by Rao himself.”
This quote on the artisans guild chapter is inspired purely because of a comic: Krypton Chronicles, part I. It's a 1981 comic were Clark and Kara go to bottled city of Kandor and explore the family tree. I thought it was fun.
Here are some parts of it that would expand on what I said on the fic:

the argo trials: war
Welcome back to me adding facts about my fic no one cares about. This time, since I wrote the Military Guild chapter, I spent a lot of time thinking about wars
So, by confirmation from the show, we know:
.Krypton had a military because both Astra and Non were generals
.Krypton was at war with Daxam because of the Monarchy vs Democracy debate
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, I decided to add some ✨ context and history ✨ to it based on the information I found on these two pages about Krypton and Daxam, here's what I made up.
Do they have comic based concepts? hopefully because I haven't read every single superfam comic out there
The wars timelines, in the world building of my fic, would go like this:
On the very best moment of Krypton, at their peak of technology, they had conquered disease, learned to delay the aging process, and perfected cloning (mostly used as spare parts in the case of an injury) (is that ableist and eugenic? well, yeah, a society with the ability to genetically program children and hates imperfections would definetely be both those things. i like kryptonians bc lets be real here) ((also adds depth because no society would ever be perfect perfect)
Once clones were around, not only were they kryptonians' "spare parts" but also would do all manual labor (this was before Kryptonains had Kelexs) so basically they were slaves while Kryptonians relaxed around most of the day.
The clones rebelled and that started the "clone wars" (very star wars of it, i'm aware)
By the end of the war, a group of clones managed to scape Krypton and find another planet and so, they created Daxam. They created Daxam as a "party" planet to spite Kryptonians.
Kryptonians destroyed all clone banks and made slavery illegal. Which means that when they found out Daxam not only had a monarchy but also had slaves, they tried to stop them.
And that started the multiple wars between Krypton and Daxam.
To conlude, here's two quotes from the pages I said before that I thought were interesting:
"While Kryptonian civilization still flourished, the planet turned towards isolationism and, in direct contrast to the society that had existed prior to the Clone Wars, a sterile and emotionally dead civilization emerged due to the High Council's strict pursuit of peace. The population became isolated from one another; living in widely separated technological citadels and shunning all personal and physical contact."
"It is believed that the Daxamites are descendants of a large separatist group of Kryptonian that left Krypton to live on another world in the first mission to colonize a dwarf red star, a thousand years before the end of Krypton."
And that's all! Not as fun as the other posts I've made but this was basically what was moving around my head while writing the chapter.
Let me know what you think!
