why are women so interested in k-pop idols? seriously, i can’t believe i am competing with a rookie idol for my girlfriend’s attention. i’m talking about v&a’s caelum, of course. during his birthday a couple of days ago, my girlfriend went all out for him. she had an outfit prepared, and she also had a cake, banners, and a story blast. she even organized a cafe event for him with her friends. during my birthday last month, all i got was a video call on kakaotalk?! ya, i’m the one who greets you ‘good morning’ and ‘good night’ every day and walks you home. to add insult to injury, her instagram highlights for caelum are labeled as “❤️”, while mine are “👫”. what am i? the other man? dafuq.

[ + / - ] leave her while you still can, op. she clearly doesn’t appreciate you enough since she’d rather put more effort into some idol who doesn’t know she exists than into your relationship.  [ + / - ] maybe talk to her about it instead of posting it here?? because if she really likes you, she’ll put the effort to the relationship and if you don’t say it, she’ll never know how it’s affecting you? i don’t want you to experience a breakup all because of an idol. 😭

do you know why today is so special??? because today is caelum’s birthday! ♡ for other readers who don’t know anything about v&a (have you been living in a rock all this time??), caelum is a part of the agito unit in v&a! i’ve been a fan of his since his vlive show so when he debuted as an idol, i was determined to plan a birthday event for him! with the help of other fans, we were able to host a birthday event in a café and handed out some freebies to commemorate this special day! happy birthday, caelum! i hope that you have a great day and always remember that we’re always here to support you!

Despite having just debuted in V&A a few months ago and having the position of a rapper, Shinha was a vocalist first and foremost. He also has and always will be. Though he had been disappointed initially at not being given a main or lead vocalist position in Agito, Shinha was happy to push and challenge himself. He’d been working more on his rapping lately and honestly he missed singing. Just like he missed acting.

So when he’d heard about the ost audition for Legacy’s latest drama, Shinha all but jumped at the opportunity. He would always do what he could if given the chance to sing. He worked hard on his vocal skills and range to prepare for the audition day. When Shinha was determined and had his mind and heart set on something, he wouldn’t stop or rest until the job was done. Singing was his biggest and most important passion and aspect of himself and so when it came to the ost audition, Shinha was set on auditioning and he pushed himself.

As the audition date grew closer, Shinha worked harder on practicing and improving himself. He worked on drawing out the emotions of the lyrics and on his overall stage presence and understanding. He often stayed back at the company so late that he had to quietly sneak into the dorm early in the morning.

Finally, the audition day was here and Shinha was prepared and ready. Even though he was now a debuted idol, Shinha still got nervous when it came to some auditions, especially ones where he wanted something. Shinha wanted this ost opportunity so bad and he could feel his nerves getting worse. Still, he was also excited to be singing again. While he was growing to enjoy rapping, singing was his forte and he wanted to be able to sing again.

When he heard his name being called for the audition, Shinha took a deep breath and made his way into the room. He introduced himself to the judges before he began to sing. He put his heart and soul into the song and expressed the emotions of the lyrics through his voice, body and facial expressions. He’d only hoped his passion showed enough.

「✮ HOW TO ARRANGE ✮」

This songwriting camp was something new and exciting for Yoon Shinha. He has no experience when it comes to songwriting, arranging and producing. In fact, he’s never even thought of that side of music before. However, now he’s a debuted idol, Shinha was curious about how music production worked. Thankfully, Legacy must have read his mind and introduced a songwriting camp for the company.

The producing and arranging workshop sounded interesting and Shinha’s curiosity, as always, got the better of him. Plus, it would be nice to learn about the production side of music since he’s always been on the recording side.

Arriving at the workshop location, Shinha was happy and excited. Not knowing what to expect and ready for the day, Shinha was bouncing and smiling like usual. He quickly found a seat next to someone he didn’t know and approached them. ❛ Is anyone sitting here? ❜ He asked with a slight head tilt and a friendly smile.

cat’s out of the bag 

quietly, daeyeol lifts a spoon to his lips, waiting quietly for shinha to reply back. but the question that comes from shinha’s lips surprises him, shaming him so quickly that he chokes on the food, not expecting such a straightforward question. he takes a moment just to cough the food out of his throat, his eyes watery and throat hurting by the time he finally can breathe properly.

when he looks at shinha, who looks hurt from the revelation fills him with more guilt, but he tries to explain the situation as well as he can.

“it’s not that i didn’t want to tell you, it’s just that…” he pauses, not for dramatic effect but for the fact that the next words out of his mouth are hard to form, even though he had come to terms with his sexuality years ago.

“i was scared, if anyone found out that i was gay they would tell the company or blackmail or something, i just didn’t want to be backstabbed,” daeyeol’s paranoia used to know no bounds when he was younger, when he was under the impression that he had a target on his back.

“i know that the world is becoming more accepting but i feel like people in america are encouraged to be who they want to be, while here it feels like we’re trapped between the old and the new.” he finishes as he breaks eye contact with shinha, eyes fluttering to the food in front of them.

“plus, i know my parents would never accept me if they found out.” 

Part of him felt bad for what he’d just asked, but it had escaped his lips before he’d even had a chance to think about it. Yoon Shinha of all people could understand the struggle and shame that came with accepting your sexuality. He’d gone through it when he had first started falling for Minjun. He knew he shouldn’t have said what he did - at least not in the way he had - but he’d thought they were close. The question wasn’t about Daeyeol’s sexuality, it was more directed at the fact that Daeyeol had been meeting with his cousin.

Shinha’s eyes are directed down towards his food as he uses his cutlery to play with the food on the table in front of him. His mind was wandering a million places and he couldn’t stop his thoughts. He had so many questions, so much he wanted to know, but he kept them to himself. They were for a later date.

Shinha’s gaze was directed back up when Daeyeol began explaining himself and part of Shinha felt guilty for even bringing it up. Still, he was hurt and shocked. The more his friend explained, the more Shinha could understand. He knew very well what the other was going through. He just wished he’d been there for Daeyeol like his sister had been for him.

❛ I understand, ❜ was all he said as he reached forward to place a hand on he other’s arm comfortingly. ❛ Boy do I understand, trust me. It’s not easy hiding who you really are. ❜ He gave the other a soft, reassuring smile. ❛ But you’re not alone. There are a few of us who have to hide who we are - who we love - and it’s hard. It’s very hard. ❜

So many times Shinha had wanted to shout out how much he loved Minjun and to show him off proudly as his boyfriend. Yet, he’d not been able to and it was hard. He just wanted to be able to touch the person he loves, to kiss them, without having to worry about anything.

❛ I’m sorry for how I reacted. I was just.. shocked. I didn’t expect you and my cousin to be a... thing. ❜ He smiled softly.
