ATEEZ SMALL PERFUME REVIEW: DOLCE & GABBANA — LIGHT BLUE POUR HOMME

top — sicilian lemon, bergamot, grapefruit

heart — rosemary, pepper, rosewood

base — indonesian patchouli, incense, musk, oakmoss

my scent experience:

the opening smells like lemons — specifically lemon lysol cleaner but it's not as intense as some fragrances that also start off like lysol cleaner. definitely a switch up from the original light blue which was totally unexpected. as it settles, it starts smelling herbaceous from the rosemary and there's a little bit of pepper hidden somewhere but it's just straight up rosemary. the scent in the dry down is very incense like and slightly spicy from the patchouli and weirdly enough, I don't mind the patchouli in this fragrance. it definitely smells like summer vacation and it reminds me of a man on a vacation in Italy.

the projection is quite moderate which is the standard for a fragrance, and this lasted approximately 6 hours on my skin which for light perfume, is pretty good. between the original and the flanker for men, I prefer the original. Dolce & Gabbana make great fragrances, but they never seem to blow my mind when they make flankers marketed for men. Maybe it's because I'm not the target demographic but this fragrance isn't for me, but it could work for anyone who wants a citrusy aromatic scent for the summer. I also don't really think of it as a woody aromatic scent as I don't really pick up the woody notes in this perfume.

additional notes from me:

when I think of summer fragrances, I usually think of smelling like sunscreen, tropical fruits, and white flowers. while citrus aromatics isn't my favorite olfactive family, I don't mind it, and I think it works for the summer if you don't want to smell like a fruity concoction. while this fragrance is alright, and I think it's a good choice for a summer scent, there are other citrus aromatic fragrances in the market that perform better and don't have that lysol cleaner opening. of course, everyone has different tastes and preferences so if you like that type of scent, keep wearing it!

anyone who likes citrus aromatic perfumes.

those who want an herbaceous scent for the summer.

anyone who wants to try out Dolce & Gabbana fragrances.

top — granny smith apple, sicilian lemon, bluebell

heart — jasmine, white rose, bamboo wood

base — cedarwood, amber, white moss

my scent experience:

light blue's opening smells like lemons. not Lysol cleaner lemon but more like freshly squeezed lemons. it's actually quite a pleasant opening. as it settles, it's still lemony but the sweetness of the apple comes in and it's just so yummy. it's not too sweet so it doesn't give you a headache and it's light, so it feels refreshing. when it dries down, it's now this light jasmine scent with a woody base, from the cedarwood which I will be honest, isn't my favorite combination but it makes sense for this kind of perfume. this smells like a summer holiday where you're drinking sparkling apple juice and sailing on a yacht.

this fragrance has moderate projection, which is good, especially for a lighter scent and it's not headache inducing. this lasted approximately 6 hours on my skin which isn't bad and for an eau de toilette it performs well. while I'm a huge believer in wearing whatever fragrance you want regardless of the season, this perfume is a summer fragrance and should only be worn in the summer. I like this perfume but as someone with so many fruity fragrances in their collection, this would get lost in the mix and this would not be the first one I would grab if I wanted to smell like fruit.

okay I'm not sure if San tried this one as he was promoting the flanker marketed towards men, but I was thinking you know what? I'll review the original Light Blue first. now obviously some posts are sponsorships and might not reflect their fragrance preferences, but as a fragrance addict, I'll review any perfume they mention. Light Blue is a classic and remains a popular fragrance since 2001 (yes, this perfume is older than some of you). I knew when San decided to work with this fashion house that he would endorse some of their fragrances, and I will admit they made some great fragrances. if I had to recommend one fragrance from them, it would be this one, but I encourage you to explore their catalogue.

who would I recommend this to?

anyone who wants a light and fruity fragrance that's not headache inducing.

those who want to smell like a Mediterranean summer vacation.

anyone who wants to try Dolce & Gabbana fragrances.
