ATEEZ SMALL PERFUME REVIEW: JO MALONE — NECTARINE BLOSSOM & HONEY

my scent experience:

the opening is very sweet and juicy and definitely reminds me of nectarines. it's more of a light and refreshing sweet instead of a decadent sweet so it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. as it settles, the scent is still sweet but the tangy element from the cassis comes through, making it smell like a sour fruit. once the fragrance dries down, it becomes very peachy but with a sour edge. I couldn't really detect the honey in this fragrance, and I expected to smell honey since it's in the name. this fragrance is a photorealistic nectarine scent on my skin. I imagine myself eating a nectarine out on a porch and just staring at the sky.

the projection is moderate but on the softer side, and it does fade nicely when you wear it. the longevity like many other Jo Malone fragrances, isn't spectacular, lasting about 2 hours on my skin. I like this perfume, and I remember my 18-year-old self wanting to purchase a bottle but now that I'm older, my preferences have changed, and I prefer other fruity scents over this one. maybe one day I will purchase a bottle but for now, I'm okay with my other fragrances. this is perfect for anyone who likes wearing light and sweet perfumes in the summer.

additional notes from me:

I figured out that Wooyoung uses this perfume based on his perfume collection he showed us in a vlog where all the bottles were laying sideways. odd way to store them but at the very least they're not in his bathroom and/or under direct sunlight. as mentioned in a previous review, I don't think of him as a fruity perfume person so seeing that he owns a bottle of this, I was a little surprised. he is allowed to switch things up once in a while and I think because it's a lighter kind of sweet scent, he probably finds it wearable. Jo Malone does have some stellar scents but personally I think there are better options out on the market. you could find something similar to this fragrance, and it might perform better on your skin.

who would I recommend this to?

anyone who likes the scent of nectarines and/or peaches.

those who want a light and sweet fragrance for the warmer season.

anyone who wants to try out Jo Malone fragrances.

base — peru balsam, tonka bean, sandalwood, vetiver, cedarwood

my scent experience:

the fragrance opens with a cherry scent. a very boozy and syrupy cherry scent. think of medicinal cherry but with a little bit of alcohol in it which is what I expect a cherry liqueur accord to smell like. as it settles, the cherry scent is still there but there's a sour and almost bitterness to it from the bitter almond note. after the fragrance dries down, it still smells like cherry but there's a warm sweet scent underneath that cherry scent. vanilla is not listed as a note on their website, but that warmth and sweetness is very similar to vanilla. it's a shame that I couldn't smell the rose because I like roses and I think a cherry rose scent sounds divine. this perfume smells like the cherry cough syrup your mom forced you to take as a child.

the projection is moderate at first, but it does simmer down to an intimate scent overtime which is interesting because most cherry fragrances I've used have a strong projection. the longevity isn't that great as it lasted about 2 hours on my skin. this fragrance is notorious for not lasting on the skin at all, so it lives up to its name and for longevity alone, I wouldn't recommend it. I like cherry fragrances, but this isn't my favorite one and there are better and more affordable options in the market.

additional notes from me:

if you couldn't tell, Yeosang is a bit of a Tom Ford fragrance enthusiast as this is the fourth bottle he owns. I personally like a few of Tom Ford's fragrances, but I have yet to find one that makes me want to spend half my paycheck on a bottle. this fragrance is also one I didn't expect Yeosang to own and he himself said it's not a scent he would usually wear, but this proves that some perfumes do surprise you and you might like a scent you wouldn't typically gravitate towards. I encourage you all to smell a fragrance you wouldn't typically go for and who knows? you might surprise yourself.

who would I recommend this to?

anyone who likes cherry fragrances.

those who want a fruity fragrance that's sweet and syrupy.

anyone who wants to try out Tom Ford fragrances (private line).

my scent experience:

this starts off smelling like aftershave with a light and sweet element to it from the pear. I was not pleased with that honestly and it threw me off. as it settles, it still smells like aftershave but the cedarwood comes through as it becomes a little woody. once the fragrance dries down, it becomes this soft woody scent, I'm guessing from the rosewood and unfortunately, I didn't get any of the oakmoss which is a note I'm starting to like. this smells like a man who's obsessed with cars and applies too much aftershave after they shower.

the projection is moderate but considering that I'm not fond of this scent, it wasn't pleasant to wear. the longevity is about 5 hours long, which is average, but it felt like torture. if you're familiar with the previous reviews, you would know I don't like fragrances that smell like aftershave. the only thing good I can say about this perfume is that it's affordable. I think this is a good perfume for any car bro who doesn't care what they smell like.

additional notes from me:

I saw a photo of Wooyoung's perfumes on the floor and one of them was this perfume in case you're wondering what or who my source was. I'm not surprised that he owns this considering that he owns Dior Sauvage and everyone here knows that I despise that perfume. I have a problem with men's fragrances smelling like aftershave like you can't tell me the majority of men want to smell like that. you would think a car brand would have perfume smelling like burning tires, new leather seats or even gasoline but this doesn't smell like any of those.

who would I recommend this to?

anyone who wants to smell like aftershave with a hint of fruity and woody elements.

those who want a masculine fragrance that's affordable.

anyone who wants to try out Mercedes Benz fragrances.

Mercedes Benz isn't the first car brand that I know of that makes fragrances and they certainly aren't the last. not my favorite type of fragrance to wear but if you like that kind of scent, you might want to check it out.
