My life up to this point has been a journey. In 2011 I left home for the first time in 20 years to attended Ole Miss. Being a Cuban-American and an only child I had been sheltered my whole life. I didn’t know what it felt like to be alone and the struggles that would bring ✨ • • After a month of living in Oxford I was homeless. I decided that moving out of my roommates house into my own place was the best thing. I will never forget the day my parents came to Oxford to move me out and put all of my belonging in a storage unit. Yes, I was living out of my storage unit for a month. My parents left to go back home right after they moved me, and as they were getting ready to leave, my dad looked at me and asked if I had a place to stay. I looked him straight in his eyes and I lied to him. I told him yes. I didn’t want them to worry. I was an adult! I knew I could handle it. And if I had to sleep in the storage unit, it wouldn't phase me. Plus, I had faith in God and in myself. I knew he wouldn’t forsake me✨ • • Long story short, I went to the library to study, knowing I’d have a place to stay until midnight and then I’d figure it out. But at the library, I met a girl, not only was she in my class but from my hometown. God really is a funny man! She took me in that night with no hesitation, I had a place to sleep and shower for the next month ✨ • • Fast forward 2014 to now I have done many things in my career. I co-founded a nonprofit. Worked at a top PR firm in Memphis. Switched gears to work at a magazine. Did marketing for a very well known boutique. Was a marketing strategist at ALSAC St. Jude. Did marketing and recruiting for a large financial firm, and finally, I started my own business ✨ • • Starting a career you’re hungry for success. Hunger drives you, it pushes you for better. You outperform and out think others because you want it badly. Last day of 2019, who’s ready?! 🎉 • • This year has been a whirlwind of a year, and I’m filled with so much love and gratitude 👏🏻 • • 2019 was a year of change and self-discovery for me. I found love, made new lasting friendships, started a new job, started my side hustle that I turned into a full time venture, but most importantly, it was a year of self-awakening ✨ • • It’s crazy to think, in the middle of 2019 I felt empty. It felt like I had lost something and I didn’t know what it was. I prayed and had faith that God and His divine Universe and guides would show me the way. I’ll never forget that morning, I was driving on 385 going to work, and it just hit me. I was missing my writing, my blog and motivating others. I just felt so drained from past years, I let what I truly loved go. Immediately that night I recreated my blog, but with my originally name, the name I started with 3 years ago, @lifestyles.journey ✨ • • Lifestyles Journey is so much more than just my business platform, it’s an outlet for positivity and growth.
