She just jumped on a plane.#So is she BACK back? Or part time back? Is she going to commute between San Fran and New York?#She better not have a secret boyfriend who tags along. We don't need anything like that here. We have enough potentials.#Unfortunately we are not accepting anymore applicants at this time.#I like that he woke up disorientated and reaching for Karen at the start of the ep and once she is around she's reaching for him.#And then sort of regrets it. She wiped her hand on her coat!#I love her so much.#Ick. Matt germs.#And he's probably listening to her heartbeat again. Creeper that he is.#A very stupid part of me would like them to temporarily live together in S2 and it just be so messy.#Arguing over podcasts and where the coffee machine should live. Bench or cupboard.#Matt - somehow despite his super senses - tripping over her shoes or asking her where something is when it is where it ALWAYS IS.#But they'd be in hiding in S2 right? So she probably wouldn't be able to go back and get her stuff because Fisk knows who she is.#But that could still be fun. Like a sleepover that will not end. Broken up with recon and plotting to take back a city.#Also not for nothing but more Daredevil characters need to have birthdays that are celebrated. When is Karen's bday? (When is Frank's?)#I would die if Matt got her a little birthday balloon reminiscent of the get well monkey balloon.#That was an unbearably cute Karen moment.#(I would also die if Frank gave Karen a bday card. I have low expectations guys. Give me anything.)

#Daredevil Born Again#Karedevil#Karen Page#Matt Murdock#ddba spoilers#Daredeviledit#Daredevil Spoilers#Not Revolution#GIF set#Mine#SEE they really needed to indicate that what happened to Foggy wasn't just a way to f**k Matt up and make Karen move away.#Maybe spend a minute on paperwork submission shots. An email. A brief text. Have Foggy excitedly brag to Matt and Karen that he has#something to show them tomorrow morning that is going to blow their minds#But no. They just expected that people would hang in there waiting for a point.#I have always loved the mystery solving aspect of this show and so I personally felt very disconnected with everything#for most of this season. So to just bring this up in the last 2 episodes feels a bit late.#But I do love them getting their sleuth on together. And I guess it makes sense if things changed now because Karen's back.#Like her departure paused everything and her arrival back is just as everything hits a new gear.#Matt wasn't meant to work this all out on his own.#I still think it wasn't worth Foggy's life but it's an interesting plot piece.#And I like Matt hyping Karen up at the beginning. Like no duh she's good at finding things - she was a reporter.#Matt should really invest in a coat so he isn't wandering around dressed like Daredevil in places that likely have cameras.#I'd say he could have borrowed one from Frank but... now I'm picturing that conversation and that seems a little farfetched.#Frank has like two outfits I doubt he has a coat he can lend out.#(The new gif limits are crazy FYI. I haven't done much giffing in years so it's so weird not trying to keep everything to less than 3MBs.)

#Daredevil Born Again#Karedevil#Karen Page#Matt Murdock#ddba spoilers#Daredeviledit#Daredevil Spoilers#Not Revolution#GIF set#Mine#Turnabout is fair play I guess.#But that was not the answer she was looking for.#This is what happens when your type is emotionally unavailable men.#I think it was deflection at first.#And she said it without thinking about how that would sound.#And then she couldn't take it back so she prompted him for an answer.#And I doubt she knew what the f**k she wanted him to say.#Because they tried... sort of... and it blew up and as if she'd want to go there again and he's seeing someone and it's fine.#There is something fun about two people having a conversation where the real conversation is between the lines.#Alot of Karen's scenes with Frank are very straightforward and direct and the complete opposite of this.#And I enjoy the idea that Karen and Matt have to find a way to be partners without Foggy there to make it platonic.#Because I don't think they're *in love* or anything but the connection is strong and their dynamic could turn into ANYTHING.#It's got no limits (maybe it should). And I think it catches them both off guard sometimes.#Also I think the writers like playing with the pairing. But they don't want to commit.#(I'm also 1000% fine that they didn't even let Frank and Karen touch hands. OR HUG. But Matt's getting forehead kisses.)#Also the subtitles say 'Yeah?' but I could almost swear she says 'And?'...

Her eyes narrow.#Fingers curling around the closest thing on the desk.#Matt snorts as a pen lid hits him in the side of the head.#I want her whispering things under her breath because she knows he's listening.#Matt's lips twitching as he shakes his head at her from across the room.#I do really love this side of them tho. It's dancing around something. But they also just seem to be happy#to be in each other's orbit again. She 100% did not expect to be called out like that tho.#And it was glorious. Her question about Frank's heartbeat was perfection.#And the way she caught herself when she realised she did NOT want to have this conversation with Matt of all people.

He's eating them like tictacs.#Hopefully that's not something we need to circle back around to later.#I can't imagine he'd let them send him to rehab.#She makes him nervous.#He can't be still with her there. He has to be doing something with his hands.#A decent amount of this scene is just Karen and Frank staring at each other and breathing.#And Matt's reaction to realising something is going on is VERY MATT.#I want (I need) Matt to question Frank on his *intentions* - so we get the parallel of that against his heartbeat conversation with Karen.#I think Matt could to get alot of stupid joy from having something to tease them both about.#I don't know how I expect him to actually feel about the possibility of whatever they have - but I think there are elements here that can b#fun and not serious and dark#I probably would have liked the flow of this season more if there had been framing around how Matt was working through his sh*t#Like each ep has a VO but it's just 20 secs of him talking to Karen's voicemail - keeping her updated. And she never responds but it's#just little thoughts he's had and things he'd say if she was actually there. And some of them are stupid or sarcastic but it's a ritual.#It's keeping him sane.#I read an article today about what they could do with these 3 in S2 and I don't know what to think. I want to have no expectations.#No expectations is safer. But I want more Kastle and as long as neither of them die I don't care how I get it.#(Just no more killing people I like. Writers you tried it. It wasn't great so don't do it again.)#Giffing in this lighting almost did my head in.

IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK? Let them kiss.)#Credit where credit is due - I don't always agree with the creative choices or the writing but the actors all clearly love their characters#and put alot of time and energy into portraying them with a more realism (and sincerity) then you'd expect for a superhero show#And Deborah and Jon go above and beyond for Karen and Frank.#I did not mean to love either of them and I did not know either of these characters before Daredevil was on Netflix but they made me fall#in love with them as individuals AND as a pairing. That whole tortured we can't be happy in this life sh*t is always going to f**k me up.#She challenges him & he meets her beat for beat. He's attentive. Sweet. A little awkward. He's head over heels for this woman who's always#5 minutes from running into danger with little to no hesitance or self preservation. Which is ironic because he doesn't give a sh*t about#his own survival and is merely existing as a form of spiteful vengeance at this point. Hoping to take out as many people as he can on his#way out. And what strikes me about this scene is his need to keep his hands busy. The way he looks up and then away again before deciding#not to let her have the last word. Because letting her walk out - thinking he doesn't care about anyone - would be a mistake.#He never knows the last time he's going to see her. Not the way he lives his life. So it matters. SHE matters.#And she needs to know it.#(But seriously would it kill the writers to just let them makeout once? It's beyond teasing at this point. It's reached bullying.)

And he pushed her away HARD many MANY times over the years for whatever BS reason he could think of#and they've finally gotten to a place (and it's a year later than would have been better for everyone) where this is permanent.#This is safe. This is home. They're stuck with each other.#And I love the contrast between Matt anxiously trying to convince Kristen and his gf that there's a threat and he has to go DO STUFF and#how different the reaction is when he says the same things (albeit with more detail) to Frank and Karen. It's night and day.#He's only a real person with people who know his secret identity.#There's something delicious about a phone call being where Matt's stuck. As if he doesn't have a history of dodging her calls. And I get#that he would have welcomed calls now - or in the last year - but there are so many scenes were poor karen is just getting shutdown by Matt#and Foggy. Calls unanswered or ended quickly. Because they have other stuff going on and lying to her is hard so it's easier not to pick up#And then you have Frank who is like... a fugitive? A hermit basically. Someone off the grid. Living in a basement. Who has an active cell#plan and has made sure Karen has his number in case she needs it. And he clearly answers when she rings. And there's no one else ringing.#So it's basically a phone - maybe specifically so Karen can reach out.#AND I LOVE THE FRAMING OF THIS SHOT. I love how close Matt and Karen are sitting. I love that Frank is pretending to ignore them.#Coz there's no way he's okay with how close they are. But he's not going to make it weird because he's a good friend to Karen.#Maybe I should blame Karen for me shipping every ship that involves Karen.

Give him a gun. A knife. Something to hit people. He's awesome.#Throw him off a building so he can land on a nice soft car - no thanks.#And were they just going to walk home (to Franks's)? Or like steal a car?#And there was a guy in the car they landed on/next to and nothing happened there. Was he just a bystander?#Does Matt have insurance? And does it cover his secret lair/costume room?#Did Karen drive straight from the airport?#And Frank just STARING at Karen is perfection. Like he needs to drink her in.#And THIS is the moment I thought Matt first noticed something was up with their heartbeats - just the way he swung around to Frank#I'm picturing Karen moving her seat forward to give Frank some more leg room. Her eyes flicking up to the rear view mirror as she tries not#to grin. Coz they're injured. And on the run. She can enjoy being home later.#And I imagine Matt's slowly assembling some thoughts here about why Frank didn't say Karen called... when that would be obvious.#But also being slightly distracted about now being homeless.#And the relief of Karen being back.

#Daredevil Born Again#Frank Castle#Matt Murdock#ddba spoilers#Daredeviledit#Daredevil Spoilers#Not Revolution#GIF set#Mine#I f**king love Frank#Kastle#This show is a tease.#They turned out all the lights (and YES Frank looks amazing in shadow - he's batmanning it up over there) and they spent 90%#of the show time on stuff that I'm not going to remember next week but they feed me little tiny scraps of things#to keep me hungry#and the whole beard/getting pretty thing is giving that scene in one of the X Files movies where Scully mentions she doesn't like the beard#and Mulder just shaves it off#WAS IT A VIDEO CALL?#Did Karen call him and cut off her greeting as she took in his hair and his whole basement look?#And Frank felt self conscious and somehow managed to give himself a $300 haircut over the sink before running off to save Matt?#HE'S WEARING AFTERSHAVE#FFS FRANK you should have hugged her. YOU MADE EFFORT. YOU deserved a hug. SHE deserved a hug.#EVERYONE WATCHING THIS SHOW DESERVED A HUG.#Please don't make me watch S2 of this show.#And then do more of the same. Can Frank come back properly? Can Karen? S1 felt like a little bit of a promise not kept.#But maybe I read into it what I wanted to see and it's sort of my fault.#I don't know what it is - but whenever Matt interacts with Karen or Frank it hits different than when he talks to anyone else.#Like when you're listening to a song and it's good... and then the chorus hits and it's like *_* okay now I get it.

Matt pretends he doesn't want to be Daredevil (again). Frank and Karen show up#just when all hope is gone that this season had a point#I think they really should have kept Foggy around at least 3 episodes (this show didn't make me cry and it should have). He should have#started to recover or looked okay and THEN BAM he's gone and Karen and Matt drift apart and a year passes and then we can roll into whateve#the rest of this was#If you compare it to the original show it's missing heart and soul and... IMO a point... a reason for being that expands Matt's character#that expands the universe and builds on what came before#This was a foundation season. And I did read that it was supposed to be that before I started watching but still.#ANYWAY. I love this entrance by Frank. I LOVE that KAREN SENT HIM. I LOVE THAT HE SHAVED.#Matt knows where he lives. He knows where Matt lives and Karen has everyone's numbers in case of emergency.#AND FRANK ANSWERS HIS DAMN PHONE UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE.#I doubt he has voicemail. And I wish we could have seen that conversation. Him rubbing a hand over his chin as Karen asks if he has plans.#Peering into the smudged reflective surface of the nearest metal object and grimacing as he raises a hand to his head.#“What time is your flight?”

And feel sh*t.#Maybe this is Matt's type of therapy - tough love#People shouting in his face#telling him it's okay to have feelings and that it makes him human and it's okay to be sad and he can feel like sh*t and that's fine#but he needs to save the BS for the people he lies to every day and not Frank. Frank would like the BS left at the door.#And Frank's not going to hold it against you if you attack him. People attack him everyday. He's used to it.#And his services are free.#I squealed a little bit... when he appeared on screen. I was so f**king happy. This is what Matt needs. He doesn't have anyone#to push away right now - which is part of his whole 'I'm quitting Daredevil for real this time... JK I'm an addict' thing. He has a process#I can't BELIEVE that Frank is still living in NY. In a freaking basement and Matt knows he's there. AND WHY does he know?#And has he dropped by before? Like what is this? Does Frank just kill low level randoms now? Is he in hiding?#He needs to take better care of himself. His hair looks great... greasy but curly... Maybe I just like listening to him talk.#He's insightful and gruff. #Daredeviledit#Karen Page#Matt Murdock#Foggy Nelson#Deborah Ann Woll#Charlie Cox#Elden Henson#Daredevil#DD 1.01#Not Revolution#GIF set#Mine#Daredevil OT3#Somehow I erased like a bunch of this show from my memory - maybe because I haven't properly watched it for 9 years#But I've just spent the week going through S1 of DD and the original season had so much heart and everyone cried#Everyone had a breakdown#They got overwhelmed and disappointed and angry with each other#and it slides so effortlessly into a slow build as they start introducing all the characters AND I FORGOT KAREN WAS THEIR FIRST CLIENT#And that Foggy bribed Brett for a heads up if 'something interesting' walked into the precinct.#And they just sort of adopt her#This is our Karen now#Please stop trying to arrest her for murder#It's sort of a person version of a foster fail. She's just going to stay at Matt's house for one night. And then maybe work at the office.#And okay now she's buying office equipment and helping us investigate and being a drinking buddy.#And she's making friends with a reporter and being a translator. But it's nothing serious. She hasn't accidentally become very important#to our mental health. She'll go back to her regular life when the case is over. This is all very normal.#Except for all the murders that keep happening.#And oh no - we've accidentally become a crime fighting team... WHOOPS.#Off Topic: I wish DDBA was on at the end of the week rather than the middle. It gives me way too much time to think between episodes.#And what is with the colouring in this show? There's no need for this much yellow.

But he's not my fav character by a long shot.#I like Matt. His MO is a push-pull relationship. He doesn't trust easily. He's very self involved and he's naturally self destructive.#But currently there is too much Matt and not enough Other People. I'm missing my warm fuzzys. I'm missing the emotional element.#(I do not miss the ninjas. Do not bring back the ninjas.) I'm cautiously interested in the idea of Frank having#a f**ked up fanclub - who he has no interaction with and who are co-opting his symbol for bad. If that's what's even happening?#I'm curious about Matt and Fisk both falling into old patterns and mirroring each other. I like the tense undercurrent between Fisk and#Vanessa. I don't know where that's going but I'm happy to wait and see. I just need something to care about? I'm not sure what the goal is#Matt's life is too easy. He became a successful lawyer with a proper office with no effort and barely an inconvenience.#He now has the perfect law partner who keeps the office running and has no personal issues and never questions him. She even found him a gf#Now it's a little messed up that his gf is a therapist coz boy does he need some therapy but she is also not very interesting.#I want to see Karen's apartment in San Francisco. I want her to have a cat. I want her to be a reporter or an#investigator? Maybe she just comes back to NY on her own. Matt screws up BIG and she shows up. Because he needs family and#she's all the family he has left. I want bickering. I want laughter. I want tears. And glaring and eye rolls.#I did not sign up for a show where Matt pretends he wants to be a lawyer for 9 episodes.#If the original version of this show was 'Matt pretends he wants to be a lawyer for 18 episodes' I can see why they changed it.#(This is the least spoilery post ever... but better to be safe than sorry)

I'm going to sweeten it with the original.#I did what I said I should have done and went back... and holy sh*t they were so cute and everyone was interesting#and I've forgotten so much#The writers broke a social contract by removing Foggy from the show so I'm going to spend some time in the before.#I forgot how brilliantly chaotic the friendships were.#This is episode 2 and Foggy is just perfect.#Karen's traumatised and he just stays up all night with her getting drunk and plotting to go to the fish market.#(The new size limits for gifs are maybe giving me too much freedom but idc)

That silence - that moment - as it hits him that she needed him and he was too busy f**king around doing#Matt things. I want more of that. He needs to earn her friendship back. Also I would like some personal growth for this ridiculous man.#This pain should bring them closer... after they've said some hurtful things and picked at each other for a bit.#Maybe we can have some flashback scenes?#Grave side. Karen sitting in an empty office. Karen packing up Foggy's apartment/the office. Karen sitting outside Matt's apartment.#Karen shoving a goodbye note under his door and leaving for the airport.
