Very true! The US school system is absolutely fucked and cares more about producing good test results than actually teaching students useful and vital skills, so students can do just fine on standardized tests but end up graduating without the ability to put that knowledge into practice in their day-to-day lives.

But! I will say this again! Your education does not end in a high school classroom! And you can in fact build and improve these skills on your own! It's very easy actually! Just google "how to improve [reading comprehension/critical thinking/etc] skills" and you'll find tons of advice and guides from a lot of different resources! Here's a couple to get you started!

the worst thing about the pipe dying is people are just saying what ever they want about catholisism. there are very real issues with the catholic church, for example its hatred of queer people and history of rampant sexual abuse. and those are just the easiest targets.

yknow what is NOT an issue of catholisism? American Christian nationalism.

It took American till 1960 to elect a catholic president and still people were worried that jfk would have duel allegiance to the Vatican. why? because the head of the church is THE LEADER OF A DIFFERENT COUNTRY.

the folks at the head of American Christian nationalism HATE catholics call em pagans and dont belive they are Christian. The kkk used to burn crosses in the yards of catholics. Irish immigrants were not hated bc there was something contemptible about the island itself its bc they were poor and catholic.

the American conference of bishops is far more conservative than most other bishops this is true, and perhaps thats a product of the rising evangelical nature of American culture. but they are still catholic.
