The daughter of Poseidon’s goal as a camp leader was to help make the camp a safe and fun place for the half bloods within it to grow and prosper. Therefore, Bella smiled brightly at the girl’s renewed confidence, immediately realizing that it was a wonderful idea to go to her for gifting advice.
“Oh- well, actually, I was hoping you’d show me some of your things? I think it’s the best place right now for me to start, right? If you work at the Forge, you must be talented.”
“Really?! Of course I’ll show you my things.” A possible customer! Lily was now very happy and started to walk with the older demi-god towards the forge.
“But what things you want?”Here Alice decided to explain what she herself focused on.
“I specialise in jewellery, glasswork and metal work. Sometimes I do dabble in the clocks and…” Here her tone turned into suffering one. “And the weapons and armours. Ugh. Mine have artist flair, so if you want bare weapons go to someone else… So?”
#Bella Kemmerich#Lily dabbles in many many many things#mainly jewellry#all sorts of it.#she thinks she is best in it and so far no one had made better jewellery#or better glass work#better armours and weapons sure

Alec laughs a bit as the girl talks excitedly about her artistic works. If it was about her crafts, then she could talk happily for hours. “Maybe you can make some glass decorations that look like ice? Chiron may appreciate that added aesthetic.”
“Oh I’ve already made th-” Lily paused amidst admitting that she already made decorations like that. It was very easy with her ability to hold the molten glass; unfairly so against the human gaffers.
“Wait, give them to Chiron? Oh! That’s an idea I haven’t even considered!” She exclaimed whirling back to look back at Aleczander, with a smile on her face. “You have great marketing ideas!”
And with that said, she continued to tug him to her forge, planning on giving those ‘icicles’ to Chiron and maybe even make few more. After she will trap inter with the glass. Round globes, with air, to lighten them, double layered, with the inner bubble’s top covered with the proper shavings of white soft metal that would, once the glass would cool, swirl with the movement creating an illusion of snow inside it.
#glassmaking is an art and science and difficult#he has great marketing ideas#as expected of Hermes kid

“Sure. You can even show me what sudden inspiration you had earlier.” Alec grins at her fondly. “We can even get a bit caught up. It’s been a while since we last spoke to eachother.”
“Yes! Yes! Yes!” She nods enthusiastically and even clasps her hands together in the glee. “Let's go then, oh I have so much to show to you!” Suddenly, she gained courage, she somewhat shyly gripped him by the sleeve of his jacket and then pulled him along.
“With the Winter Formal thingy, I have decided to give discounts for the stuff for it. Like rings or cuffs. I make paired cuffs too. For pairs. But, um, the idea was actually with glass. It was the idea to catch the bit of winter in it, small glass balls with winter inside. Or paperweight large one. Still not sure. Small ones for jewellery set. To not make it heavy.”
The longer she spoke about her passion, the more energetic and open she became. A whirlwind of creative energy.

Bella was just a bit surprised the other was so jumpy and nervous, but she didn’t feel the need to judge her at all. Not when she was naturally very understanding and experienced when it came to the campers at CHB. “Oh- Oh, wait!” She said, suddenly a bit more excited. “You work at the Forge? I was just going there! I’m trying to find ideas for Christmas gifts and everyone there makes the best things.”
It seemed like she would manage to extract herself from the social situation fast and intact. Good. Lily breathed discreetly in relief, but then the older woman called her and Lily froze almost unwillingly at the call.
But then. Then the words the woman said changed everything. It was almost comical how the jumpy and nervous Lily suddenly was no longer so jumpy or nervous. In fact, she looked at the older camper, her own eyes glinting a little at those words.
Because this woman was a potential customer!
“Yes.” Lily nodded, somewhat decisively at the woman who clearly knew her stuff and she stood bit straighter. While children of Apollo also did good stuff (what with their parent being also the God of music, poetry, and art), in Lily’s mind it was them, the children of Hephaestus that did the real deal.
“Then you are in luck, for we have started to make possible presents. I just got an idea for one.” As the other was now a possible customer, Lily found it much easier to talk with her. “Are you looking for things done by specific someone? I’m pretty sure the Arts and Crafts have stalls with works of each camper capable of creating gifts.” Lily knew that; her own small stall was there, she got her own clientele through it after all. Still, she still was not a picture of professionalism and social success.

bella-kemmerich: Bella was immediately concerned by the young blonde’s reaction. But her worried expression melted into one more gentle, encouraging and approachable so as not to scare the girl any further. “Are you sure?” She asked, hoping to sound more friendly than concerned.
As soon as she finished it, the necessary quota for a socialisation, she felt relief. Now, the older woman only had to say that she was fine and she would be free and the sanctuary of the forge was just before her.
Alas, it seemed that life had different plans and threw her a curveball and Lily was not adept at home-running curveballs of life. The life got a strike!
Still, at least the woman sounded just friendly; so that meant she was a social person.
“Yes. Yes. Yes.” Lily paused trying to think what would satisfy the social needs f the Big Three child. “Just preoccupied. Ideas you see.” And as she said it, it ran forefront into her mind. “Gotta go to Forge. Create and make. Wares for Christmas. New Year. Lots of things to do.” That done she nodded. “So. Bye?” That was fine right? Right? That was asocial enough, surely it was social enough.

Alec chuckles a bit at how adorably shy Lily still is after all this time. After knowing her for a while, a rough translation was that she had sudden inspiration for something and was lost in thought on her way to the forge because of it. “I’m fine. A little startled but you’re always a welcomed surprise.”
He was smiling at her. and his smile still looked as soft as before and his voice was still kind and her cheeks started to colour, so she quickly looked away, trying to hide it, a smile spreading on her face.
They were not together anymore. He already had someone with whom he was happy with (he was handsome of course he could easily get a new boyfriend or girlfriend), she should just accept it and move on just like he did. But words like those that she was always a welcome surprise made it hard.
“Um. Erm.” She floundered, socialisation was always hard and now the additional layer of complicated feeling she felt towards him made it even harder.
“I have new wares!” Lily ended up blurting out looking up at him. “Winter themed! Um, maybe you want to take a look? I’m sure you can find something for family, friends, b-boyfriend!”

aleczander-ofhermes:
Alec smiles a bit once he recognizes the blonde camper. “Hey, Lil. I hope I didn’t hurt you?” He asks a bit quietly, knowing she was quite shy when they were together. “Are you okay?”
Her eyes were glued to him, tracking the movement of his lips as they shaped into a smile. Then she also suddenly realised that her hands were still touching him and she quickly moved her hands back and took a hasty half step back, before she ducked her head down and brought her hands before her, grasping them.
She felt flush climbing on her cheeks at his caring tone. “Um.” She was tongue-tied, Alec still had an impact on her. Even though they were no longer together, it would be a lie to say that she no longer cared. She did. “Hi Alec!” Her voice rose a bit, turning higher in pitch to show her nervousness. “Um. I.” She looked down, then glanced up, trying to give a reassuring smile but it came out more awkward.
“I’m. I’m fine. I-Sorry. Got the idea. And. Um. The Forge.” Lily tried to explain, that she got inspiration. “You?” She asked because she did not want him to be hurt. And if some of the pieces that she made were still inspired by him, well, no one had to know.
It was odd, meeting him again and feeling the flutter of her heart from the closeness. Made her feel like a silly teenager, even though she was already twenty years old and a businesswoman (of sorts).

bella-kemmerich:
The daughter of Poseidon was headed to the Forge, wondering if she could possibly find Christmas gift ideas from all the creativity inside the building. She was debating what kind of things her friends would want, and didn’t pay attention as she walked.
Bella gasped in surprise, not having noticed a camper had been so close until she felt herself collide with her. “Oh, I’m sorry!” She said with a sheepish smile, taking a step back and putting her hands up placatingly. “Are you alright?”
As she felt herself collide with something (or rather someone as her brain supplied her) Lily realised that she was starting to both love and hate the dinner-time. The number of times she came up with inspiration after the dinner was overshadowed by number of times it led to her colliding with someone and making her speak with people who were not her half-siblings.
She looked up, only to freeze when the face she saw was actually one of the few she knew. Lily did not know her name (she knew very few names), but she knew the other was a daughter of Poseidon and Counsellor of her cabin.
Bolstered by the dubious experiences, she spoke. “I’m. Um. Fine. Yes. Fine. Are you?” All while gripping her apple (which this time she did not let go of, thanks to the weak force of the collision) and feeling rather intimidated because of whom she hit this time. She also quite frankly wanted to leave her behind as fast as possible and hide in the Forge to make the idea in her mind a reality

Lily’s mind was whirling, moving, calculating needed temperatures, metals, and glass needed for the piece that her mind came up with when she suddenly collided with something. “Buh!” Her face and body squashed against the immovable wall that she did not remember being there.
The apple fell from her grasp and as she pushed against that wall, she found out that it was quite warm.. And somewhat less hard than she expected…
“Hm?” A confused inquiring sound escaped her and she looked up, hearing at the same time the question.
Her mind blanked for a moment as she realised that it was a person she collided with (again!) and then she froze staring up at the other person. First, her mind found out two things: it was a male; it was not her half-sibling.
But then his looks and voice registered and she realised that it was her ex. Still as good looking, as charming as before.
And so, she stayed frozen like that.
After the dinner, Lily sat in the dining pavilion still, eating a dessert (that is, an apple; juicy, fresh, bit sweet and healthy), when suddenly the inspiration struck!
Her mind focused on the idea, both at the shape that was coming in her mind as the final product and the process of bringing it out in reality. Her fingers twitched and she stood up and immediately marched towards the Forge. As a child of Hephaestus who had been a long-standing, if reticent, member of the Camp, she had her own corner in the forge (where she built the necessary tools and the specialised furnaces for the glasswork and much more delicate metal work for the jewellery) and this was her aim.
Of course, that meant walking quite the distance, but in the fervor of designing and changing the colours in her mind, Lily did not feel the distance… Nor did she look where she was really going, walking on auto-pilot almost and thus, quite easily, colliding with another (poor, unsuspecting) camper.

Abigail, while she may be many things, could most easily be described as dainty. With a stature of about 5″2′, 5″3′ on a good day, and features just as small as she was, Abigail was pretty easy to overpower, which was one of the reasons, she assumed, she had been taken here, while it may not be her best wishes, she was slowly coming around to the fact that she did need some of the skills taught here. She was, however, still adamant that she didn’t belong there.
As she’d been making her to the dining area for food, she’s suddenly on the ground, knocked down and confused as to how it had happened. “Was machst du?” She mumbles, temporarily caught out and forgetting to speak in English.
So absorbed in her plans and designs, Lily did end up being waylaid from reaching her station in the Forge. That is, she collided with someone and they both ended on the ground.
The shock pulled her out of the inspiration, but the idea still churned in the back of her head even as she looked around with her green eyes confusedly around. Her hand reached to the apple that she dropped and she winced a little at some abrasions on her knees, but also she found herself laying partially ontop of another blonde. Smaller than her, probably younger and the said blonde spoke in an unknown language.
“Um.” Inwardly Lily was panicking. There was a person before, well, under her. That meant socialisation. And she was... Not good at it. Immediately she moved away from the fallen other demi-god. And looked away.
“Um. Sorry?” She asked first, then reaffirmed. “Sorry.” And then, there was a mighty pause.

Half-Blood Camp Winter Formal 2017
The dress is the same as the year before, but the jewelry is new, self-made and the shoes were modified too. She keeps to her dad colours too.. So maybe it’s more red-gold than golden-red, but still.
And look she even has hair in something resembling a style and no soot on her! Lily even has a slight make up! Don’t expect more from her. No, really don’t. The only reason she is here at all is to check jewelry of others, see who is wearing what, see if anyone wearing her work and if her work is the best (it is, duh).
