Once we finished in Seattle we headed back to Spokane. To see our friends once more and say goodbye. This time we got a campsite at Riverside camp grounds.

Was not my favorite campsite by far. It ended up getting full and the sites were pretty close together. For just spending one night, though, it was workable.

The Spokane river was a short walk from our tent. There was a nice little sandy strip and a picnic table to sit on to watch the river. I saw a humming bird but it was gone before I could get my camera out. I did enjoy the view even though I didn’t care for the camp area.

Taking a break from my vacation blog to post about today’s special activities. Went to a rally downtown for the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Spent the day walking around Seattle. Went up in the space needle. It was amazing! The view was absolutely fantastic. Then walked down to Pikes Place market. Bought a fillet of salmon, butterfly sunglasses and some souvenirs. Enjoyed visiting with the vendors. Great day. Then went back to our mountain campsite and grilled up the salmon for dinner along with a bottle of huckleberry wine.

It’s so beautiful this morning. Set up camp in The Snoqualmie Mountains yesterday. It’s very chilly. As… Mountains. But absolutely beautiful! The trees here seem to be dripping green.

So thankful the local tribe allowed us to come and enjoy their land. My first time in the ocean. It was freezing! But so much fun!

We stayed at a hotel last night as the campground was all booked up wry reservations. I was not impressed. The bed was hard as the floor. Did not get a good night sleep at the Motel 6. But I feel better after the hot shower. Today we are headed to the coast. Forks Washington and La Push beach are our destinations for the day.

The whale watching trip was incredible! I got pictures and video of the orcas. Never seen one in person before. And the boat ride was fun, chilly but fun.

Soo excited! We are going on a whale watching trip today! Never seen the ocean, so that will be a first for me too! Was told to dress warmly and that it was a good idea to bring a blanket. I can’t wait!

Went hiking up Mount Spokane. Absolutely beautiful! Didn’t make it to the very top but got close.

Had a great day in downtown Spokane. Walked around for about 4 hours. Saw Spokane Falls, visited a few stores, saw a bunch of seagulls and took a ride on the skytram!

Had a good hike through the woods around our camp. Very beautiful!

Made it to Spokane. Beautiful out here! Gonna meet up with my friends today later. Picked a beautiful spot for camping. Will be our home away from home for the next few days.

First day is drive drive drive. Almost a whole 24 hour day to make it to Spokane. Got a good book and plenty of pretty scenery to look at.

Vacation to Washington! Soooo excited. Gonna see so many things and visit friends I haven’t seen in years! (Puppy doesn’t get to come)
