A sketch of Immeeira, my shadar kai paladin for an upcoming campaign of Curse of Strahd

I’ll write more about his story, but the gist of it is that he’s sworn to the Raven Queen, he was sent to Barovia but can’t feel her presence and protection anymore, so he’s slowly losing his faith. He’s just so very very tired.

2023 study dump

Working as a videogame artist means that sometimes I spend months focusing on a specific subject, and I immediately feel like I’m losing grasp on the things I’m not working on, so I start feeling very insecure and I start studying something different from the work I have to do. For the last couple of years that was environments (I’ll have to post the studies sometimes) but this year was human figure year, and I felt the improvement.

Vardrula “the Cougar”, dwarven gladiator sorcerer.

She was born as an excuse for me to wear a beard at a lotr festival a couple of years ago, and then I played her for a crazy one shot.

An an army soldier that upon defeat was sold as a slave, Vardrula had to earn her freedom back working as a gladiator, and she really got into the part. Her innate powers granted her the ability to create great shows for the public, who loved her maybe just a bit less than she loved them. She was one of the oldest gladiators in her roster, because she’s used to live large, tip well, and gamble a bit too much, so she never paid for her freedom.

This started as a quick static anatomy sketch, then months later I wanted to practice lineart and made her a flirty drow bard, then today I felt like making a simple coloring study (just a flat with a couple of shadows), but I got a bit carried away.

And she multiclassed to a necromancer wizard apparently

Laltra, my tiefling arcane trickster in the same dnd game as Goneryl.

Her name would be translated in english with something like “Theotherone”, because when she was born a tiefling her parents pretended she didn’t exist, and she grew up loved only by her perfectly human twin sister, Lynnea, and this is the name she always got called by the nannies. Lynnea was a gifted wizard, as their whole family was, but she arranged to sneak her sister with her when she went to study at the academy. There Laltra lived in the shadows, learning magic during the day and skeaking around at night. She was happy, but when her sister moved on with her life, and she became a liability, she gathered the courage to leave her only connection to try adventuring. At the moment, she’s not still very good at it, but luckily she is a fast learner.

Changing of the guard: Aiace and Prometeo in Lunaria

A very poetic scene I saw while LARPing at Battle for Vilegis (Italy)

I didn’t expect to find so much fun and genuine emotion and actual magic in LARP. I mean, I knew I would like it, but I never expected to LOVE it this much. Fighting a battle in pitch black, except for the fires of a ritual circle, surrounded by your comrades risking their life and struggling with their every breath, and then celebrating with cold beers and the bard singing of your family’s eroic acts and silly shenanigans while everybody cheers, and greet the dawn without even noticing how time fled… it has been one of the best experiences of my entire life.

Yes, we’re all casters, but we’re almost doing fine xD

The funniest thing about this party is that we’re all basically playing a different class, Halkhad is definetely a bard, I like to sneak like a rogue, and Vigil is very wizardlike :P

As a good druid I recycled the background because I really like how the city of Sharn came out when I painted the cleric
