Jimmy Page recording (very likely) "Whole Lotta Love" in 1969. He was using his Les Paul guitar plugged into what Page referred to as a Vox "Super Beatle" amplifier head (probably a Vox UL4120 left by former Yardbird member Paul Samwell Smith when he left the group) into Rickenbacker Transonic cabinets, before later switching to the more reliable and available Marshall Super Lead 100 set up., that stayed until the end of Led Zeppelin.
Below , the same Vox UL4120 in April 1968 used live with the Yardbirds .

2024!
It's remarkable to me how every event in my life is like a domino in a chain. As one topples, it sets the next in motion, and so on. I find that I'm closest to my best when I pause to appreciate the 'domino mandala' that has unfolded and is still unfolding right before my eyes. Here I am.
Pursuing a life of music has been a consistent and genuine focus since my earliest memories. Some of you have known me long enough to remember my 'Forje' days, and perhaps even fewer still recall Ninja Table Association. Then Hardcastle, the four-piece band - truly an amazing chapter of my life. And the dominos continued to fall.
The past few years have been a wonderful whirlwind of (re)discovery. In 2024, I eagerly anticipate another evolution for Hardcastle with a record coming out in the not-too-distant future.
I look forward with excitement, I reflect with gratitude, and I look around in awe.

Hey you! Do you feel like the information-overload nature of modern media leaves you paralysed with apathy and dread?
Then that Irish band your dad probably likes has you covered.
This song is “The Fly” by U2, recorded from their ZOOTV tour from 1993. It’s by far one of my all-time favourite concert videos. If you like this snippet, then you’ll probably like the rest of the concert, and the two albums they toured it for (Achtung Baby and Zooropa, amazing btw)
