I just love the thought of everyone else being horrified when they see Phantom yet Danny is so nonchalant. He just wants to cuddle with his boyfriend why is everyone screaming??

Day 6- Eclipse

Danny’s ghost sense has been… weird.

It keeps going off at school without any ghosts being nearby. It does still alert him of the his typical adversaries, but at other times there’s just… nothing there. No ghost to fight.

And it can’t just be Amorpho in disguise, either; Danny has confirmed that they aren’t in the area. Nor are there any new faces that could be a ghost in disguise like Spectra had done.

At first, he assumes it must be a random power/control issue—he’s certainly had those before—but it keeps happening and Frostbite’s scans come back normal.

He can’t stand it. He starts making maps/notes of everything around him every time it happens to try to find any commonalities.

Eventually, he does. It seems like every “false positive” has gone off around a certain student (or at least weren’t confirmably not nearby). It was surprising—sure, he wasn’t close with them, but he hadn’t noticed anything amiss. If they’ve been replaced or possessed, the ghost is doing a very good job blending in. But even if they aren’t openly causing chaos, he can’t just let a possibly dangerous ghost go.

So he confronts the student as Phantom.

And they promptly break down sobbing.

They’d died, but came back as a ghost and decided to hide their corpse and pretend like nothing happened.

Danny… has no idea how to respond.

…Dannny Phantom fics often talk about Amity being chill with ghosts and whatnot, yet I don’t think I’ve ever really seen the logical conclusion of that:

Dying but just… keeping going.

A kid at Casper High dies in an accident and comes back in for class a few days later. Moves the memorial off their desk to make room for their notebook.

An elderly book club member shows up to the new meeting semi-transparent. They laugh off any concern with something along the lines of “At least my back pain’s gone!”

Someone calls in to their job like, “Hey, uh, I died. Does… does that mean I get the day off?”

No one quite knows how to react. Phantom shows up the first few times to ask if everything’s alright, but then starts to leave them be.

It’s… fine?

At first, people very carefully walk on eggshells around the topic of death, but it gradually fades into the background. People just treat it as a new rule of polite conversation. The world goes on. It’s still just Amity Park, the most haunted city in America.

They’ll have to address it eventually, they know. It’s far too big not to. But for the moment, things just keep going as they were.

part 2 of danny being lost in the ghost zone

Thinking about the versatility of one’s only superpowers being “snowballs + invisibility and intangibility.”

I have this silly prompt idea where Danny keeps disrupting every villain's plan, except the only thing he does is throw snowballs at them. Never turns visible, never shows himself. Bad guy will be monologuing or preparing to attack and suddenly BIFF they get hit in the face. No one has any idea where they come from. It's not even winter. They just appear out of thin air. The only lead the batfam has is sometimes they can hear disembodied snickering when it happens.

They think it’s Klarion’s doing but nah, it’s just a funky little ghost guy who just wants to fulfill his obsession and have fun while doing so
