abstract and modern art haters are sooo snobby like klein literally Created an entirely new pigment and then painted a canvas in a way where the brush strokes wouldn't be visible. the insinuation that people with no skill could reproduce that is so annoying because unless you are skilled at color mixing and painting you definitely couldn’t lmao

This year has been quite trying, but I'm happy that I discovered a love of making these horse animations in 2023.

Some people might think I’m an optimist but I’m not. I’m a realist that’s going to try to increase the good things in this world if it kills me.

Outlive the motherfucker. That's what you're going to do. Survive and thrive out of sheer spite if necessary. Live for the day that nature takes it's course and you wake up in a world that no longer has them in it.
Apply where applicable. Repeat as necessary.

Someone else has probably said it better than I am about to, but I think another incredible thing in the new Superman movie is we get to watch journalists doing journalism the right way. (I mean Jimmy's thing with his source is a little questionable, but hell she gave him real information of her own free will and honestly.)
But bigger than that, man was Lois right in the interview scene. She loves Clark and she knows he's a good writer but she also knows he is more than skirting the line with the way he's writing those stories about himself and she asks him hard questions he's not prepared for that make him think about that, he never treats her like an enemy because of it. He doesn't like it, he doesn't like what some of the questions might imply, but in the end I think he realizes that those are the kind of questions someone like him should be asked. She's doing her job, and doing it well.
And we watch the whole team go through all the steps of a decent story, as much as you can do that in a movie like this. No guessing, no innuendo, they do research, they get corroborating evidence, they run the whole thing past an editor, they write it up, they get the draft checked, they're working together as a team, and they put together a dense front page story that gives other journalists something they can confirm and publish with confidence.
I just threw some money at a unionized paper here in town and propublica because of this movie. I think it would be dope as hell if the fandom started giving money to Quality news organizations in honor of Lois Lane.
With NPR and PBS being gutted, local papers funded by local donations are going to be life-saving. Genuinely. Literally. They are going to fight corruption, and if there's anything that actually makes me believe in the phrase truth, justice, and the American way in some kind of idealized manner, it's honest to God citizen journalism and publicly funded press.

bell hooks mentioned going through a time in her life where she was severely depressed and suicidal and how the only way she got through it was through changing her environment: She surrounded her home with buddhas of all colors, Audre Lorde’s A Litany for Survival facing her as she wakes up, and filling the space she saw everyday with reinforcing objects and meaningful books. She asks herself each day, “What are you going to do today to resist domination?” I also really liked it when she said that in order to move from pain to power, it is crucial to engage in “an active rewriting of our lives.”

I love that topless protesting is becoming something of a trans tradition in the UK. If the protesters are arrested, the state must admit they're women. If they aren't, it shows the glaring contradictions of labeling trans women as "male." It helps their cause either way. We don't see this nearly enough of this in the US (photo by Rusty Elias, St. Peter's Square, Manchester, May 31st, 2025)

Listen to me. Listen. I need you to dig up your old LJ fan fiction and move it to ao3 or Squidge. I need you to do this. I know, I know! It’s old fic! But please, for the love of those who will come after you, do it. Nobody can get into those communities. The doors are locked and the mods are gone. You must bring the treasures out for the next generation 🙏

I watch a lot of tiny home/camper build videos and they're usually very chill, laid back affairs but I started watching one about a tiny camper for abandoned railroading and the vibe is putrid. choppy editing. 'zany' sound effects. dated pop culture references. these men are surely Bros of some kind.

Prometheus brings fire to ancient man. Since I imagine our first encounter with tame fire may have started with a lightning bolt, I tried to give Prometheus a more lightning-look despite that being more Zeus' territory. I mean, he did steal from him.

pov you are a millenia old multidimensional wavelength of celestial intent and you've spent your whole existence as a soldier of god, with no room for anything else. and then a guy from kansas comes along and pushes you to think for yourself and shows you movies and feeds you burgers and asks you to hang out and says hey i like you. be my best friend. and then later he makes you part of his family and gives you a mixtape and stops having other romantic relationships and bickers with you and raises a kid with you. and the whole time he's saying hey i love you. be my husband. and you didn't even know you could be a person! let alone that anyone would ever look at you and see someone they wanted to build a life with!! really, is it any wonder castiel is so insane about dean winchester?

i’m sorry but the scene in 7x04 where buck first sniffs a bottle of glue (for… no reason???? very unnecessary???) & proceeds to pass it to eddie who ALSO takes a sniff of the glue (AGAIN unprompted, no reasoning behind it) never fails to make me laugh bc why are they so fucking stupid. & then there’s just bobby nash in the background like 😧 in total DISBELIEF at what he’s seeing. these are two ppl who he entrusts with the lives of strangers & he was no fucking clue why (neither do we). it’s such a quick moment but it kills me every time.
