You know I think people try too hard to figure out the “real victim” of SWM, like… why can’t it be that Lily and Snape were both victims?

Some of you folks have never experienced self-loathing and it shows, specifically in your opinions on Severus Snape.

Do you like everything about yourself? Do you think you're a good person? Do you have no flaws? Character weaknesses? Do you not empathize with flawed, morally compromised characters because you also desperately wish to receive empathy for the things you hate most about yourself? For that which compromises you?

Or are you happy and righteous and can do no wrong? Are you just out here, living life, never questioning if you deserve to be loved, knowing you may never resolve or make peace with the things most wrong with you? Are you not haunted by the times in your life where you have let yourself down? Where you have let down those who thought better of you and were fucking wrong? Are you not tearing your hair out because you cannot make anything better? Because things just slowly get worse? Because whatever you try blows up in your face and so you just stop trying?

Are you always 100% the good and just and kind protagonist? Is the antagonist of your life always...someone else? Is it never you?
