Another guides editor (Matthew Reynolds) was given the opportunity to stay on but declined it. I don’t fault anyone who stayed on because man ain’t it tough to find a writing job in this economy. And they’ve all expressed outrage on our behalf’s. But it appears valnet gutted everyone in the union and then the top tier management, leaving only some middle management

Also, full disclosure: my last piece will go live on the ghost of polygon dot com in the next few days. My manager had reached out to me letting me know it was up to me whether or not it did, and I said yes because I wanted it to be the last thing attached to my byline. It’s a good one!! I had fun writing it and I want to go out with something I’m proud of

I still think the most devastating enshittification I've ever seen has been picrew. One of the few dress-up game websites left that's not flash-based and it's become DRENCHED in ads. You can't open the home screen without being blasted by at least three or four ads. You can't open two picrews in a row without watching a video ad first. When you have a picrew open the ads cover up the different options and sometimes even stack on each other so you have to hit like 2 or 3 different x buttons to get it to go away, only for more to appear seconds later.
