Being Saladin's (foreign) fourth wife Headcanons

This is mostly based on an oc! and this is not related to the real historical figure but the movie version of him (from Kingdom Of Heaven). I honestly don't know much about Islam so if anything sounds offensive or anything is incorrect please let me know! Hope you enjoy :) There might be some historical inaccuracies (?) I'm not very sure

• He would have never imagined that he would have gotten married again, and especially not with a Christian girl from Jerusalem!

• She worked as messenger for King Baldwin IV even if she was originally from the Byzantine Empire, or rather what used to be the Holy Roman Empire before its fall, as she was born in southern Italy

• She met the Kurdish Sultan during her travels, on behalf of the Leper King of Jerusalem for a matter of diplomatic affairs regarding his health and the physicians that he had sent to help with his leprosy

• And soon enough he was fascinated by her, despite the prejudices that she held against him and his people (as we know, the people of Jerusalem and the Saracens don't like each other very much in this movie-)

• Her travels to Damascus became more frequent, and the two managed to get acquainted, and that is when the Sultan proposed to her

• She was shocked and appalled at first, the man arleady had 3 wives, and she was a Christian! an union like that was unheard of

• Despite everything, King Baldwin encouraged it, he knew that his reign was short lived and that was an opportunity to secure a stable peace after his death

• The marriage was held in Damascus with a traditional Muslim celebration under the watchful gaze of most of the population

• She wore a traditional dress and he found her absolutely beautiful and fascinating

• She was nervous, very nervous, and he would make sure to support and gently calm her down as he understood how everything was foreign and new to her

• She was nervous about not fitting in his life, in that land which appeared so exotic to her, with it's warm and dry desert landscapes

• His other 3 wives, surprisingly enough, welcomed her quite quickly and helped her feel more at home, and a sort of sister-like bond grew between the 4 of them

• After a life on the road, she managed to live a comfortable life in the Sultan's palace, full of comforts and luxury (and obviously alongside a very handsome and charming husband)

Not all called "historians" are truly historians! Some people write books based on theories and fake news or even try to spread misinformation. We have to check if the author's sources and documents are reliable. I used to read authors/books that nowadays aren't even considered reliable historians/sources. They create narratives just for the buzz. :/

Lemme add: Tiktok is not a reliable place, it's a dangerous place for historians. People there create "fanfics" and spread it as if these were the real truth in the comments.

An example of my reality: I've seen people claiming that Dom Pedro II, Emperor of Brazil was Portuguese, at service of Portugal lmfao! He was born in Rio de Janeiro and ruled Brazil! Our Portuguese Emperor was Dom Pedro I, (Pedro II's father) and the one who participated in our independence process. My God... 🤡

They don't know the difference between Colonial Brazil → Independence → First Reign → Second Reign

As a Fersen fan, of course I would watch videos of him on TikTok but reading the comments under the videos, there is always this "History girly" type people who would whine "Fersen stalked Marie-Thérèse!! He's a bad person!!" Sorry to break it to you but I'm afraid he didn't... You need to stop believing everything you see on TikTok without even researching about it. Everytime I try explaining there is zero proof that Fersen even stalked Marie-Thérèse, they would reply with "Erm.. There's no proof that Fersen and Marie Antoinette were lovers too!!" but... I never mentioned their relationship in the first place did I ? I just said that there is no proof that Fersen stalked Marie-Thérèse..😅😅all these people thinking I actually believe on the Marie Antoinette and Fersen affair but I'm actually neutral about it but I barely talk about it🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

There was a lot of people saying that it was lowkey bad and some mentioned that apparently Susan Nagel claims that Louis XVI had an affair with Duchess de Polignac. Dude wtf, Louis was loyal to Antoinette and yet somehow people is putting all their trust on this book??

Fersen never stalked Marie-Thérèse and that's it! Is it that hard to understand? 😅😅 reminder that there's more proof that Fersen wanted to comfort Marie-Thérèse after the French revolution than stalk her for money. But the thing is, yes maybe he did want his money back.. But he wasn't harsh to Marie-Thérèse for it. In the book "Revolusjon!" by Herman Lindqvist, it was said that Fersen wanted to meet Marie-Thérèse in Vienna after finding out she survived the revolution but the thing is, she didn't want to see nor hear about the Count. According to Marie-Thérèse, she saw him as the man who led her family to death, blaming him for Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette, Louis-Charles and Madame Elisabeth deaths.

In the end, Fersen never stalked Marie-Thérèse 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Argue with me if you want but I said what I said. Fersen was also deeply involved in Swedish politics under King Gustav IV Adolf. I doubt Fersen would even have time to stalk Marie-Thérèse if he was deeply involved in politics.
