Artist’s Residency in Iceland- A Resource for Creative Travelers

A creative mind needs an inspirational environment to get insights for their work. North Iceland is renowned for its spectacular landscape and mystical aurora. An Artist’s Residency with these marvellous sceneries is enough to rouse their sleeping talent. It heals their innovative mind in the most enhancing way to drag the scenario as a painting. They have an extraordinary talent to flow it as a painting or on a lighting factor.  The residency will help you to bring some more natural essence to your art. Art is the cell that flows with blood in their body and gives a colour of red. Like that, an artist has an ability to express their reflection in a unique way. Taking all the artistic people on our mind, we have opened our residency in 2012. The Artist’s Residency welcomes only the creative travellers. They must be a photographer, video artist, and creative practitioners who don't need enough space for their work.

 Artist is also allowed to process for their projector and can also join festivals around the towns. Skammdegi is a mid-winter, means in the dark winter festival in North Iceland. It is a wintry climate that appears in this part of the world. The land is covered with a mysterious light with the snowy mountains. The sun never rises higher than the surrounding mountains, in the middle of December to February. Our Artist’s Residency announces a call for the artist for Skammdegi Festival and Residency to express your creativity. It is the perfect chance to take a challenge toward dark night in any form of art. Those who have got selected will get a further opportunity. They will be isolated and can enhance their creative arts by enclosed mountains for ten weeks. For further information, we will like to inform you that the coming Skammdegi festival will be held from 15-18 Feb in 2019.

Taking all your amenities in our mind, we have two places in Iceland namely Listhus-10 and Listhus12. We are a non-profit organization that is financed by the residency fee.
