It's been a long time since I posted here, but who else is excited about Scarlet/Violet? About to start playing in a few minutes! Too bad Alcremie didn't make the cut... hopefully she will in DLC!

This is some recent art I did of Spessa, a Bergamot Swirl Alcremie with Spessartite Garnet decorations in place of sweets.

Finally colored this fanart of Lin You and added a nice backdrop. I tried giving her a somewhat realistic Chinese look to match her in-game heritage.

Got around to coloring this. I like to think that the two of them would get along, though Wukong might be a little overwhelmed by Xiao Lei's love of arithmetic.

I can see Xuan Zang being a bit jealous of a friendship like this...

Sylas and Sophie from Dragalia. I like Sophie a lot because she reminds me of the alchemist designs from the Atelier Series games. I really like Sylas because his adventurer story was so emotionally charged and inspiring!

A study I did on historical Chinese hairstyles. Much of this was inspired by watching some of Eternal Love ( 三生三世十里桃花), which my wife was really into a while back.

A little interaction I imagined between Wukong and Xiao Lei from Dragalia Lost. I like to imagine that between his relic expertise and her arithmetic prowess, they might be able to do great things together!

Lin You from Dragalia Lost. I drew her with a more realistic look instead of the anime style of the game, and I tried to make her look like she could legitimately be Chinese (or from Taiwu, the fantasy equivalent in-game). She is one of my favorite characters to play as in the game because of her crit-based combat!

A new set of colored busts for the four main protagonists of my story: A shy and reserved Royal Brigade Knight Commander - Vladimir Vidovich An untrusting Kisotro rogue living in the slums of Ogmia - Opal Sariel A troubled half-demon Mage Associate in the Royal Brigades - Mia Orenas A plucky young squire, recently inducted into the Royal Brigades - Silas Zadkeel Trying to improve my method of merging pencil sketches and digitally colored illustrations. I like how these turned out!

All of my major protagonists dressed in their winter attire. The wear all of this during a point in the story in which they must travel from the Southern kingdom of Ogmia to the Northern lands controlled by the Atman Empire. They travel far enough North that they end up moving from the summer season on one side of Kresnia to the winter season on the other. Vladimir and Opal are the focal points of this part of the story, and they both get a lot of chances to shine!

New ideas for Opal’s combat attire. Not 100% sure I’ll go with this, but I feel like her earlier renditions made her legs look too vulnerable. I’m trying to go for some kind of medium between sleek, stealthy thief and D&D style rogue. One possibility I might use is that this is her “official royal brigade sponsored” gear, and that her skirt and leggings version is her “budget” gear.

Thanks to the incredible talents of Elise Zhang and Chris Parson for bringing these characters to life! Maybe the day will come when they settle their differences and realize they have something in common?
