my biggest issue with sotr is suzanne collins somehow doesn’t seem to want katniss to exist as her own person, why must all these characters draw these connections to these dead hags that she don’t give a fuck about !!!! “katniss is lucy gray” “katniss is lenore dove” “katniss is louella” katniss is katniss!!!! point blank full stop. it cheapens katniss as a character to not allow her to exist without /having/ to have a “reason” why people care about her or look to her. she’s just a random girl!! and the entire point of the main trilogy is she’s just a random girl!!!!! idk why suzanne is dead set on cheapening her own major work like that

Well they did it. The US has delivered a baby from a woman's corpse.

Adrianna Smith, a 30 year old Black woman and a nurse who was failed by the very health care system that ignored her medical needs, was nine weeks pregnant. She was legally declared brain dead and the hospital doctors decided to keep her body functioning on life support to full term so they could "save her baby" because of Georgia's abortion laws.

Because of this her family was unable to put her to rest as the hospital basically held Adrianna's pregnant corpse hostage for this experiment to play out.

Now her son was cut via C section from her corpse. Only 1 lb in the NICU.

Do you know what this means? It doesn't matter now if you're dead, they'll get that baby out of you somehow, fetus or not.

It’s interesting how diseases rip through schools at incredible speeds despite being in an arguably modern, clean(ish) environment. I wonder if it has something to do with the whole “you need a doctor’s note to excuse your absence of even one day” combined with the average price of going to a doctor, the lack of education on things like “you’re still contagious even after the fever goes away”, and the overwhelming message of “if you don’t struggle through it, you’re a failure!”
