What happened to the original LittleDrawSomeEmojis?

the original artist went by @drawsomeemoji and i go by @little-emoji-archivist so this url is a combination of the both of them. as for what happened, the wayback machine and my experience with following the artist did not leave any content to explain the deletion, but the blog getting deleted is entirely their choice.

the reason i made this blog despite them having deleted is so that there is actually a record to properly tie back the artist to their work so proper credit can be given, and so that the original terms of service (TOS) can be known and followed. these emojis are now available on the web and i want to make sure that there is a solution other than these being lost to the collection of discord emojis that have no apparent creator, because the style and emojis are worth valuing.

but to directly answer your question, i dont know, and there is no longer a way to find out, but thats okay as long as we still respect them.

Thank you so much for saving these, preserving the adorable art, while also respecting the creator by saving their TOS. You are doing amazing work. I was just searching for one emoji of theirs, and then I found you and SO MANY MORE emojis they did.

sorry if the previous question is weird i just never saw the original TOS and want to make sure i understood

no it was a fair question! if I hadn’t initially followed them/followed other similar emoji creators I would probably also not know how to follow that TOS. in general though TOS around emojis has everything to do with there being a source back to the artist. the artist in this case deleted, but they still deserve that recognition.

when it says discord use only does that mean no other apps (like whatsapp) or is it more along the lines of “please only use these as emojis, not for any other purpose”?

The original TOS from drawsomeemojis expressed wanting this as emoji use on discord only due to how the emojis work there- you cannot just easily copy paste the emojis to use elsewhere, and it helps to make sure that them as the artist is properly credited and respected. It is important that they are recognized for their work, and I agree with this wholeheartedly.

I am not sure how emojis on other apps work, but I know for a fact they are not to be used as reaction images and that they explicitly stated the emojis are not allowed on amino in any way shape or form. The emojis are also implied to not be allowed for use on twitter, instagram, and any other platform where they are being used as images as opposed to emojis.

Like I said, I dont know how emojis in other places work, like WeChat or WhatsApp (etc), and I think as long as they are credited or it is specifically within dms- texting and discord specifically (and not saved as general use images) they said it is fine (not 100% certain) but I am cautious about saying one way or another for WhatsApp and WeChat.

I would follow however @custom-emojis does their policy, as we cannot ask drawsomeemojis to clarify anymore? And I believe they have a similar policy in place. And if you are unsure, always credit credit credit.
