We're going to ignore Under the Veil! König, Stray Dog! König, and Blue Velvet! König. Not because they're weak but because the fics they're in don't really give us enough of their physical capabilities. Since it's more focused between König and the Reader and also focused on König's POV and whatever the fuck is going inside him. They all are probably strong since it is implied that they're in a higher rank however, again, not enough stuff about his capabilities just implications. Same reason goes for Religious Guilt! König (all we know is that he's not a Colonel but still capable enough to survive a bombed building) and Sea Swallow Me! König

Reincarnation! König is not a trained soldier afaik and he can reincarnate so he's disqualified. Points for Bitey Stuff tho but all Königs are feral biters anyway...

Now Childhood Bestie! König is a bit different because he's a younger soldier that was able to kill an entire squad all by himself in a blind rampage and still not kill any hostages. All because he found out his childhood friend/crush has a boyfriend. However the mission was a stealth one soo... Eh whatever... This mission might be the same as the one in his backstory in the COD wiki tho so maybe all Königs could do it... But still he's pretty strong...

Now, these two have the most information about their physical capabilities. Heretic! König and IOFAB! König

I am biased (I warned you) so I will save the best (my favorite) for last

Heretic! König helped kill a Djinn and killed a Fae all by himself. He also captured an Angel. It was more capture and not actually kill but the point still stands. We do not know how strong a Djinn and a Fae (who is probably Nina here ;_; ) is but definitely strong and supernatural. He also has an Angel's mark however, we don't know if it also protects against non-supernatural stuff so maybe not. I'm going with the mark only protecting him from supernatural stuff because he's probably going to find out about the mark sooner if it does protect him from all things. He's more shrewd than strong when it comes to displayed capabilities but again very strong. His younger age gives him an advantage but IOFAB! König has the advantage of experience.

And now I have to take a moment to collect myself and my thoughts because if I don't, I will be presenting this selfish feral middle aged man as the winner without saying why

It's been fascinating seeing the reaction to the poll. The Destiel fans seem to think their ship deserves to stay popular and relevant just because... it used to be popular and relevant, I guess? Reading these tags has such a flavor of entitlement, it's really something.

It's like they're not realizing that the standards for what qualifies as good representation, or even a good show, have shifted in the last 10 or so years. Not realizing that a lot of people who were here back then, like me, never cared for Supernatural, and don't agree it was important at all, and would not be interested in celebrating it. Not realizing that other fandoms have been happening around them, and that some, like in the case of Mobile Suit Gundam, have legacies that reach back to decades before Supernatural was even on the air.

Destiel is such a product of its time. It's a fanon ship that, as I recall, was strongly disliked by its show's staff, acknowledged only because the fans demanded it so much. The ending of Supernatural was widely mocked, and the show is now mostly remembered as that meme people learn the news through.

Sulemio meanwhile had the full, joyous support of its staff, and was canon since the first episode of Gundam Witch. The whole show's plot revolved around this pairing. The Gundam franchise hit record sales numbers during and after the show. Sulemio brought hundreds if not thousands of new people into the mecha audience, and got many of them interested in the hobby of building Gunpla. Suletta and Miorine being canonically married even stood out politically, because gay marriage is not legal in Japan.

Is this not progress? Is this not worth celebrating? Why cling to the old and busted when the new hotness is doing such great things?
