Hey, could you do a Tasugao character relationship thing like you did with arahika. If you don't know who they are then nvm.
Oh, don’t worry, I do know them. It’s just that, this is Danball Senki-centric blog, and I don’t really see a reason for me to write a character relationship essay between Tasuku and Gao who are from a different show entirely. Maybe you can try asking someone else? Sorry!

Before it Began--Kaidou Jin
Out of all the theories/headcanons I thought up so far, this one has to be my favourite. Haven't you ever wondered how in the world Kaidou Jin, multiple times world saver, walked into Kamui Daimon without any suspicions arising in the Management, more so after he became vice-commander for Harness?
I just like to think it's because Kaidou Jin attended Kamui Daimon Comprehensive Academy as a student and worked his way up to the commander position.
Don't start getting your panties in a knot now. When Jin went to Kamui three years ago, he's supposed to be a high school student. And Kamui has a high school division, mind you. With Jin's skills, talents, experience and reputation, it's a walk in the park to get admitted into Kamui Daimon. And an even easier walk in the park to get the commander position.
The position Houjou Muraku had been aiming for.
We already know it's possible for a student to hold a very high position once they attain enough Silver Credits. Muraku's sole will to continue studying in the school was exactly that. It's no surprise to me if Jin knew about this too and went for it, a few years before Muraku attended.
It all just fits together perfectly. What's a better way to investigate a school than to become its student body? It must've been a piece of cake for Jin to do all that. Or maybe not. Maybe there was some trouble, after all, maybe not. Let's not forget Jin just loves to butt into people's business. Jin's a smart kid, Jin's a talented player, Jin's this, Jin's that, Kaidou Jin is basically the perfect model student. I can't see any other reason why he, back then, didn't share the same methods as Houjou Muraku does currently. Their only difference is their goals. Jin was aiming to save Professor Mito, whereas Muraku wanted to save all the students of Kamui from this proxy war.
Also to why Jin just holds a vice-commander position, I think it's just because there's no other countries without a commander. His best shot is literally Harness. With a busy doctor for a commander, a small troop, and a genius mechanic, I can't find any other country being the most suitable for Jin to command without taking too much spotlight. Jenock, of course, is out of the question. Mito Reina needs Jenock. So that's that.
Personally I think this is my favourite headcanon simply because it's so fun to think about Jin performing in a platoon. You just can't help but wonder which virtual country he was assigned to, how did he interact with his platoonmates, did he have a roommate, how everyone reacted when the famous Kaidou Jin joined their class, what type of dilemma he came upon in the Second World and so on.
It goes without saying that one way or another, he becomes his platoon's captain. Or maybe what if he's not the platoon captain but most of the time he's the one giving out orders instead? But it's also really fun if he wasn't. How does he react to orders? Probably like a loyal, good soldier. Were there any girls asking for his autograph? Betting you that guys asked too. Did he make any lasting friendships? Proooooobably not. Hard to imagine for Jin to make really close bonds when his purpose in Kamui was to investigate it. He's a goal oriented guy. Yeah.
My point is clear. Kaidou Jin can get that commander position with a snap of his finger.

Character Traits--Arata
Yet again, here I am, with a post about Sena Arata. At this rate I might as well just dedicate this whole blog to Arata. Either way, here's something I noticed thanks to my previous posts and episode 22 of the anime.
Sena Arata can't take a hint.
Like that one Tumblr post I remember seeing, 'if you wanna be my lover, you gotta be crystal clear because subtle flirting and hints don't work on me', or something. Of course that's not the actual wording of the post but I got my point across.
But I laid down my point. Arata, he can't take a hint. Like the time when Hikaru was so obviously mad/trying to avoid him, he doesn't understand that he is the problem to the blond and goes on being best buddies with him.
Not to mention in the episode where Sakuya and Takeru were wroking on Dot-Blastrizer, Arata completely didn't think that something was up. Yeah sure, he may think that Sakuya's panda eyes are because he stayed up all night trying to fix First Platoon's LBXs. But at least notice that something behind the scenes was going on when they made him wait in the control pod during War Time without an LBX. Instead he's whining like a baby. Ah yes, Sena Arata. He can't put two pieces of a puzzle together.
So what I'm trying to say is, if Jenock ever planned a surprise birthday party for Arata or something similar, he would totally and I mean, totally, not get the hints. Yes, subtle flirting too. Won't work on him. Gotta be blunt and clear.

Before and After--First Platoon
We've been informed that the First Platoon has been only been consisted of Haruki and Sakuya for quite a long time before Hikaru and Arata showed up.
This is a theory slash headcanon to the duo-only First Platoon's activities before and the effects it had on the after.
I'll start off with Haruki. So we all know the tragic tale of Haruki losing his platoonmates to the Violet Devil on his first job as platoon captain--truly worthy of a Shakesperian award. What a tragedy.
That must have been such a hard blow on him. I bet Haruki spent a couple of days dispirited by it, and from the way the first few episodes showed him handling the new recruits Arata and Hikaru, it's safe to say that rather than someone came up to him and gave him wise words of inspiration, Haruki had to get over the trauma by himself and through time.
And to do that, I think, he learnt. As a platoon with only one player and one mechanic, I think that the First Platoon at the time either joint up with other platoons for missions a lot, played as backup support, or most of the time, no mission at all. On the days he doesn't have a mission, I think Haruki would spend every War Time watching the Second World from the spectators' rooms. I think that he, to make up for his lack of experience as a platoon leader, watches captains from other platoons/countries and observe how they operate. And during joint missions, he would still do the same but this time he'll be able to hear what kind of commands are being thrown around by the other platoon's captain. He studies, I guess. Haruki in the same time, I think, is also a born leader. So everything can come naturally to him and he can understand it all without a teacher.
Also, remember the book Arata picked up in the Owl Library and said to Sakuya that they should get it for Haruki since it's about leadership and stuff? Who's there to say that Haruki never borrowed that exact same book from the store before? It's a rental bookshop, after all.
If this was how it happened before the main story started, then it's no surprise to me that Haruki is that good of a platoon leader, albeit a little awkward at first, if I do have to say so myself.
Moving on to our favourite little mechanic, Sakuya, with almost no LBXs to repair--what's one measly DC Offenser? With a few scratches and dents here and there?--and too much time to spare, someone as smart as him would've wanted to keep his skills and knowledge in mechanical work in check, wouldn't he? If I were to be placed in his position, under his circumstances, I'd say I'd begin development on a project.
In Hosono Sakuya's case, the Riding Armour.
He said so to Arata once, that calculations on perfecting the Riding Armour manually would take him months. In the anime, the first time we saw the armour it already looked like it was 60%-70% done, more or less. And quoting Yuno, 'The First Platoon were left with two members for the longest time before Arata and Hikaru came.' So, really. What's there left to argue?
Thanks to Sakuya honing his mechanic skills on the Riding Armour, not only did we get a smokin' cool new gear, but we also get a really great mechanic. It comes as a package. Buy one Sakuya, get a free Riding Armour!
So really, you can't say that these two did nothing in the time they were half a complete team, because it's hard to imagine otherwise.

Thank you. But I did not forget that. I deliberately didn't mention it or anything else that's not in the essay because the 'Hikaru cares for Arata now' is simply repetitious. I've already pointed that fact out one time too many. That's why at the end I simply wanted to focus more on Arata-->Hikaru instead of the already repeatedly mentioned Hikaru-->Arata.

Character Relationships--Arata & Hikaru
As promised, I belatedly present a character relationship essay between Sena Arata and Hoshihara Hikaru.
Please be noted that I will write from the very first episode to the very last so pull up those pants there’s gonna be huge walls of texts accompanied by a bunch of screencaps. I hope with this I will be able to summarize the relationship between these characters and capture the bond they started, nurtured and treasured.
Tumblr media
The first interaction between Arata and Hikaru happened right here and up there and it’s like they clicked right from the start. I think it’s interesting how Hikaru decided to tell Arata the reason for the town’s old landscape when Arata was simply stating things out loud and not asking questions. But there he goes, telling Arata that.
I like to think it’s because he knows something that this stranger doesn’t, and as someone who aims to be the best surely everyone must see him as someone with a lot of knowledge, for reputation and stuff you know. So he decides to tell Arata, deep down in his heart probably knowing that Arata is at least slightly amazed.
Let’s not even mention the fact that his face was so smug when Arata realized he was the year’s Artemis champion. He probably didn’t even bother mentioning he won Arteming to Arata in the first place because “This kid I just met will remember eventually.”
Tumblr media
He could’ve left Arata or not speak to him at all but now they’re walking together and talking like they’ve known each other for some time before coming to Kamui Island. Seriously, Hikaru. But I guess that’s natural once you’ve found out another person is also heading towards the same place as you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later in class, this happened. It happened again and again in future episodes. Like I said, they clicked and were in sync. In the above caps, Arata asked a question inside his mind and Hikaru somewhat ‘answered’ it also inside his mind. It’s fun to see how the script writers emphasized this. They emphasized how these two strangers are meant to click like the right pieces of a jigsaw puzzle at the moment they cross each other’s paths.
And then they’re roomed in the same room, much to Hikaru’s dismay and much to more of the scriptwriters’ emphasis of how Hey look at these two. These two are going to be friends and there’ll be conflict and they’ll grow together as two different characters but evolving as one!, who by then I’m sure thought he didn’t like someone such as Arata. Loud and almost obnoxious. Maybe earlier he thought that would be the first and last time they meet and talk to each other before Hikaru would rise to the top in the school and Arata can only admire him from below. But then, surprise surprise, they’re put into the same virtual nation, same platoon, and same dorm room. Nice work.
Not only that, later in War Time both of them disobeyed Haruki’s orders. I guess that’s typical for two freelance LBX players to suddenly shift into an army unit.
When night comes, Arata seems to already treat Hikaru like a friend while Hikaru is still rejecting him. Arata’s already comfortable enough to even tell Hikaru the reason he came to this school whereas Hikaru pretended he fell asleep. He’s really trying not to be buddies with this kid.
Tumblr media
When I said it happened again, it did happen again. It’s in episode 3. This was when Jenock tried to capture Rossius’ Gigant Wall and nobody wanted to step up and take the Violet Devil on so the others can destroy the wall. Arata and Hikaru both stood up at the same time and, again, at the same time said they wanted to do it. Obviously Haruki declines but after a word from Sakuya he agrees to let his platoon become the decoy. But we’re not talking about that. We’re talking about how these two newbies obliviously wanted to take on the feared Violet Devil and they decided that at the same time too. I’m pretty sure they didn’t whisper "Okay we’ll say it together. One… Two… Three…!" because really, would Hikaru be up for that. They’re so in sync without even realizing that and I’m starting to think its ridiculous anyone who just met could be as synced as this.
I'm also going to bring up the fact that both Arata and Hikaru want to take down the Violet Devil even after they were almost obliterated by him. Hikaru, obviously, wants to take Violet Devil down because if he can defeat the most feared student in War Time then he'll instantly become the known one and the 'best' while Arata is just... Arata. He's excited to see someone so strong and wants to take him on again and again until he defeats him. Typical of a main character, no?
In the next episode, if I recall correctly, is the episode where Sakuya had to fix up their LBXs and Arata decided to wait for him so they can go to school together. Hikaru looked reluctant at first but I think he stayed too out of obligation because Arata reasoned that Sakuya’s doing his best to fix their LBXs, the least they could do was wait for him. But then Hikaru realizes they were going to be late and speeds off. His ‘I’m Number One’ attitude is showing a little here.
In the following episodes the First Platoon are seen to be getting warmer and warmer to each other, as they agree to do a formation attack to fight against the Griffon Brothers and even agree yet again to Arata’s idea of dropping a water tank on Eldband.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Ooh crotch shot.]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Proceed to episode 10, where Arabista Alliance asked to be allies with Jenock and where Hikaru and Arata concord on Mito-sensei’s decision to refuse the alliance while the rest of Jenock think they should’ve agreed.
Hikaru even went out of his way to say something like that and then walking out fabulously. The only way I can see anyone say something as bold as that to people in the same platoon or nation as you is because Hikaru wants to make it clear that the person he believes in the most is himself and himself only. Sure, he trusts the other a little bit to actually work with them as a team but if push comes to shove he’ll carry the burden himself.
Later on they’re standing guard at Eldar City and Val Sparos gets serious damage from the Large Droid. Hikaru says he can still go on but Haruki orders him to stay put like the good captain he is. Arata also shows that he cares about Hikaru’s well-being when he’s the one who tells Hikaru to don’t do anything after Haruki breaks over and he goes ahead taking Large Droid all by himself while Hikaru’s in frustration that he’s basically useless.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But then Arata pulls this shit out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then says this shit. I cannot stress how important this scene is. Arata literally wanted Hikaru the chance to complete the mission rather than himself, which was made even more obvious after Dot-Phasor got serious damage to the point of immobilization. But he already wanted Hikaru to RIDE ON the Riding Armour instead of him and I can only imagine one reason and that reason is his tiny speech above, which Hikaru responded to by saving the ass out of Dot-Phasor from the Large Droid. There is literally nothing more I can say because pictures are worth a hundred or thousand words.
This is a large turning point in their relationship because Arata wants Hikaru to trust him and everyone else.
And then much later during their meeting after the mission in the briefing room, Hikaru admits that Arata is right but also adds that he and Arata are rivals. Which is good. It’s good because Hikaru has bestowed upon Arata trust and a rivalry that Arata also agrees on. Rivalries are good. Rivals are good for you because rivals help you grow better and better. Yeah.
Tumblr media
When Arata, Sakuya and Yuno wanted to buy that book written by Yamano Hakase, they didn’t have enough credits. But then Arata gets the idea of borrowing some from someone and the first person he turns to is Hikaru. He doesn’t even say “Let’s borrow some credits from someone!” as a suggestion to the other two he just straight ahead says “Let’s ask Hikaru!” which I think shows he has a lot of trust in his roommate if the first person he turns to for help is Hikaru.
Which also reflects the previous episode about trusting allies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then Arata has to battle Kaito for the book, and it looked like Arata’s losing his composure and Hikaru’s about to leave when Arata goes “Just a little bit more. I was so close…!” which attracts Hikaru’s attention. Eventually Hikaru enters the ‘secret’ room to watch the battle enfold properly and his assumption is right, Arata had a trick up his sleeve. He was able to predict how Kaito times attacks. Avoiding getting shot, Arata used a Hissatsu Function and won the book.
Hikaru seemed pretty impressed at this but there’s also a downside to this. He felt threatened. All this time he thought of Arata as someone who’s careless and can’t keep a level-head in battles but then Arata pulls this off. When Hikaru asked him if he predicted the timing of the attacks Arata’s reply made it sound like he was saying “I guess so, I think I just did it.” and that’s the dangerous part. Arata’s a natural when it comes to battle and Hikaru sees that as a threat.
It shows in the next episode where Hikaru asks to be vanguard instead of letting Arata lead. He even went as far as criticizing Arata, reasoning why he’s a better lead than Arata is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hikaru even briefly shows his jealousy towards Arata by saying the line in the first cap. It truly must be nice, being Arata. Arata’s all confused, of course, because Hikaru’s bringing all of this up so suddenly and he defends himself by saying things worked well up until now. He must’ve been a bit hurt too and a bit upset he’s not the vanguard for the mission. Especially after all the things that Hikaru told him. But it’s almost like he doesn’t because he’s not showing it. He goes along with and maybe, just maybe, he’s more concerned to why Hikaru wants this chance.
So we know what happens next. Hikaru takes the front, Arata follows and Haruki backs them up with Orcannon/Orhammer. Their joint mission with the Third Platoon went on smoothly, oh so smoothly until Bandit showed up and ruined everything. People getting LOST everywhere and the Violet Devil appearing to save the day.
Because the time up saved them, they didn’t have to face all that shit until tomorrow. In the mean time back in Duck Manor they’re all apologizing. Hikaru’s apologizing for changing the formation and thinks it’s his fault that Orvane got damage. And then Haruki’s all “I’m the one who approved it don’t let it get to you.”
Arata backs Haruki up, saying that it’s not Hikaru’s fault.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Arata gets this in reply instead.
Hikaru’s jealousy and fear of Arata surpassing him shows even more here. He walks away afterwards, something he’s done often in these episodes. And Arata’s confused as ever. I think he doesn’t understand—and he really doesn’t understand—why Hikaru’s being so emotional. To him, Hikaru and he are on level ground. They’re friends and rivals, equals and supposedly having a good time together. Arata doesn’t aim to be on top. He’s aiming to become a pro to prove himself to his father so he doesn’t care about competition among peers as long as he can be a professional LBX player. Arata does care when it comes to competition between virtual nations however, but Hikaru cares more about competition among peers and we find out about that in the next episode where things really go down.
Gendou points out my earlier paragraph about Hikaru knowing Arata’s talent later on in the episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And like I said earlier, he does. He knows Arata’s not irresponsible. It’s just… talent? Luck? Either way, Arata is special and he’s afraid that if he doesn’t do something about that Arata will be the one looking down at him instead of the other way around. He has to be number one, after all.
Tumblr media
And here we finally know why Hikaru’s been acting weird.
Episode 13 mostly focused on Hikaru’s character development but this essay is not to talk about that so I will leave that to when I write about Hikaru’s character development.
Instead I’ll focus on the little things that happened between Arata and Hikaru in the episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arata’s worried over Hikaru but as Hikaru has done a couple of times before, he rejects Arata. I can completely relate to why he does this. When you feel threatened by someone you would try all you can to cut connections with them. You just… want them out of your life. But that’s hard for Hikaru considering everything so maybe he thinks he can get away with reducing as much interaction he can with Arata or get Arata to see him as a threat as much as he sees Arata as a threat. Or he’s just being sulky about it and taking revenge/his anger out on Arata but I’m pretty sure that’s not the case. Hikaru’s a mature guy, he’d know better.
We can see what I mean by Hikaru being afraid of Arata when he had that dream where Arata says “C’mon Hikaru, let’s go! Leave it all to me!” because dreams are sometimes things your subconscious mind wants you to see or reflections of things deep inside your heart that you refuse to admit. It’s obvious there that Hikaru refuses to accept that a boy like Arata is affecting him this much. He’s an Artemis winner and that’s a heavy scratch on his ego since Arata got kicked out of the preliminaries. Let’s not even mention that Hikaru is actually a winner of 7 official tournaments including Artemis. Ouch.
Yet Arata still doesn’t see that he’s the reason. Even though it’s not obvious he should at least have an idea that Hikaru’s problem right now is him. I’m surprised Haruki didn’t notice it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s sweet, Arata. Considering that you really didn’t sleep in class since Sakuya said “Are you even listening to yourself, Arata?” so maybe he did doze off but hey. The point is Arata feels things are weird when he’s not with Hikaru. Like a missing piece. Supposedly by this episode they’ve been here for maybe three weeks tops already. Arata is already treating Hikaru like a best friend and that’s honestly something. Maybe it’s just in his personality but then again maybe not. We don't see him being very buddy-buddy with Haruki. Sakuya, maybe.
Tumblr media
That might not be the best thing to say, Arata. But he means well. He also might be joking but if he wasn’t I can’t see this as something Arata would say to be mean. He just wants to help Hikaru out, who seems to be going through some dilemma that Arata can’t figure out what. Plus the fever. So Arata thinks he's helping Hikaru out. Yeah, he's totally helping Hikaru out.
Of course, the problem here is Arata is the problem.
So we've got that covered and Hikaru gets character growth which is totally awesome but I won't go over that here because this is about a relationship between two persons and not about one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would really like to point out that after the incident, it shows that Arata and Hikaru have gotten closer with each other. It's most likely thanks to Hikaru's part, who after he got over his crisis begins to treat Arata more  as a friend than a rival. I'd say if this was Hikaru from the first episodes of the series, he'd leave the room pretending he didn't see Arata forgot his CCM and let Arata panic when War Time comes and he can't find his CCM.
I also really like Haruki's and Sakuya's expressions its like they're saying "Finally, he's being nice to him."
He also laughs with the others when some girls come and ask for Arata's autograph, even though at first they thought Hikaru was the famous Sena Arata for defeating the Violet Devil. Man, rumours spread like wildfire and are inconsistent like the waves. But it's obvious what's trying to be said by the scriptwriters here. First Platoon has gone one step higher with their bond.
Hikaru caring for Arata's well-being shows even more during the fight at Gigant Wall after their Death Forest recon mission. Arata did a stunt saving Muraku from Seledy's Phantom LBX and Dot-Phasor alongside Gunther Yzelphar were thrown into that canyon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can actually see how worried he is. Even when Haruki said they should focus on taking the wall first, Hikaru didn't really look like he wanted to make the capture of Gigant Wall his priority. But he obeys because he's learnt that that's the best route to take at the current moment, especially since this is a war.
While fighting Rossius troops, he worries over Arata's Dot-Phasor, which could possibly be destroyed any second thanks to its damages. And conclusively get Arata kicked out of Kamui Daimon because his LBX is destroyed in battle--LOST.
But when Sakuya retrieves Arata's LBX, he lets out a breath of relief as seen in the last screencap above. So glad Arata is safe. Something tells me if this was Hikaru 10 episodes ago, he'd go, 'Oh my I'm so glad my rival is gone now I can go to the top with ease by being the only one who will defeat the Violet Devil yay.' where I don't think I need to repeat a lot of times. It's obvious already by now that Hikaru cares for Arata more than he used to and maybe more than he's willing to admit.
Moving on, in the near future we get more beautiful episodes where we get more Arata and Hikaru character growth, in the same time more relationship growth, in a way. [Intensely toning down my fangirling because Holy crap development at its finest.]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've lost count how many times I've said this already and I've probably bored more than half of you to death, but with these screencaps above I would just like to say that Hikaru has begun to be more honest with Arata.
If you do not agree, I highly recommend seeing an eye doctor.
The first time they met, Hikaru literally pretended he was asleep when he actually heard the whole thing where Arata babbled on about his father. But then here he is, the one sitting up and telling Arata that he's jealous of Arata's Overload and technically giving him advice on what to do. Or give him an idea on what to do. Or just to lead him into the right path. I don't know, the kid's a mystery to me. [No, he's not. I understand him perfectly well. He was just answering Arata's question honestly.]
Even going so far as to wish him good luck and saying he knows Arata can. That sense of competition and rivalry he first had seemed like it disappeared into sweat during LBX battles. He came this far from a self-centered brat...! Any mother would be proud. (Wipes eye.) Go Team Hikaru.
I'd also just like to do a little body language note here. When Arata said he'd master the Overload, Hikaru had his head down. I think that shows that he's in deep thought, probably thinking over what happened last night and what to say. In the end, he wished him good luck and told Arata that he believes Arata can do it. The power of body language is amazing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next we get the truly heartbreaking--especially for Hikaru fans--episodes where Bandit targeted Hikaru and, in Seledy words, he went poof. When you already know a character's gonna go through something bad before you start a series and you without meaning to get attached to said character, you just want to skip all episodes regarding bad thing. But you can't. And you just gotta toughen up and cry tears of celebration when that character gets through the bad thing--I'm flying off topic.
There's not much to say about these episodes regarding the relationship between Arata and Hikaru other than the scriptwriters are saying how much of a precious friend Hikaru is to Arata and vice versa. I mean, Arata tried to get out of his control pod when Hikaru started screaming and went silent--completely forgetting the fact that a player can't leave their control pod until War Time ends. And Arata even stayed up for most of the night, watching in worry as Hikaru gets nightmare after nightmare. Makes you wonder when did he fall asleep. And then there's also that one time he pulled up the covers for Hikaru, looking tremendously worried. Oh, Arata.
Let's not forget his attempt at punching Itan Kyouji after the latter confessed to being the reason Hikaru was hurt. [Damn it Muraku, you didn't need to stop Mr. Romeo from that punch. I mean, Kouta did it to Rikuya. So like. Come on man. Come on.] There's a lot of other things we shouldn't forget too. Like how Hikaru stayed up during the night too after Jin told Arata that it's best to not use Overload anymore because Arata might not be able to handle it (I think. I forgot.), or how Haruki, Hikaru and Muraku went to spy on Arata after Seledy requested to meet him to 'keep him safe' despite the place being crowded with guards. The rest of the anime after this is like that, them showing each other 'Yes, I care for you. Now shut up and kick Seledy's butt.'
I think it's okay to stop here. This has become, rather than an essay, more of a summary. It's so tedious too, and I apologize for that. I thank you if you've read this far and I hope I'll get better at writing stuff like this with due time. Let's get on with the conclusion of this whole thing.
Sena Arata's existence influenced Hoshihara Hikaru the most, and by being close with him, Hikaru has allowed himself to grow and become a better person. Likewise for Arata, Hikaru more or less becomes a pillar of support for him and an important friend. From the first episode to the very last, the two of them have gone through thick and thin as one. I can't imagine a world where these two didn't meet and grow together. It's no lie from me when I say I'm envious of this relationship.

Family Background--Arata
I didn't realize how long it was going to take me to rewatch Danball Senki WARS--it's bad enough I have a not so good memory so the first half of DanSen WARS is already a fuzzy blur to me.
To compensate for that, I'll write about this headcanon I have regarding Arata's family background.
Personally, I think his family's rich. Not as rich as Gendou or Jin but they have enough money in their pockets to waste a bit.

Your dad sounds familiar, Arata.
Pretty sure something that a person like Manabe's dad would say.
Someone who's done 'real work' and basically professional, I guess. So with a job like that he gets good money to raise a family.
As we know, Arata is almost always out of Silver Credits because he carelessly spends it on food. That means he must always get a certain amount of pocket money from his dad to spend and since he doesn't exactly have a responsibility other than his LBX before he went to Kamui, he probably did what he was doing in Kamui. Spend it all on sweets and thinking he'll have money again because hey, it's not his money it's not his hardwork it's his dad. He's not used to how Silver Credits work on Kamui.
I don't blame him, I was once like that too until things took a different turn and now I'm too careful with spending. Arata never had a job, I'm sure. He's only 14. People who've worked would understand the value of money and what it really means to waste.
Back to the topic, my point is clear. Arata's family is pretty well off financially. Another proof? Arata's little plan to travel the world. He surely needs some money for that, and my bets say he's going on his dad's money.
If his family is even okay with him travelling the world alone at fourteen years of age.
Like I said, not too rich, but rich enough to waste some away.

Something on Arata and Hikaru's relationship, maybe? Or Arata and Muraku? Or simply just Arata?
That's a lot of Arata interesting!
Though I think a character growth essay on Arata might be a little too much for me at the mean time. So I'll go for Arata's relationships with Hikaru and Muraku--separately, obviously.

I'm planning on writing either a character growth essay or characters relationship essay. Any suggestions so I can start early on it?

Stare at this long enough and Haruki looks like he's rapping while Arata's dancing and Hikaru jumps to the beat at the back.

Dorm Room Numbers
Because we all want to write stories that circulate inside their rooms, eh?
So, we all know that Arata and Hikaru were roomed in 302.
Tumblr media
And Sakuya is their neighbour in 301.
Tumblr media
But of course they have many other neighbours.
From Sakuya's room and the shared room of Arata and Hikaru, we can see that the rooms go in ascending order from left to right. So the room next to Arata and Hikaru's is room 303, then 304. It stops there and continues on the other side of the building, still in ascending order for the next four rooms.
Who lives in room 303?
My theory is Gendou [and his butler Ayabe, maybe].
Tumblr media
When this scene ended, it was slowly zooming in towards room 303 or 304.
Tumblr media
[Holy crap Ayabe, I know you're his butler, but you don't need to watch him while he sleeps. Creepy.]
Then, this scene came up. I'm only assuming but it's really likely the resident(s) of rooms 303 or 304 are Gendou and Ayabe.
Afterwards, our lovely butler heads off to Rikuya's room.
Tumblr media
He's in room 306, which is right in front of room 303. Short trip huh, Ayabe? Also note that the president's son doesn't have a roommate. I'm actually beginning to believe that the only people who share rooms are Arata with Hikaru and Haruki with Muraku.
Tumblr media
In room 307, which is in front of room 302, we have little prince Kaito.
Tumblr media
And then on the other side of Rikuya's room, the captains appear like the heroes they are. The noise I made when this happened was inhuman. That means their room is 305.
Also, proof that room 307 is in front of room 302.
Tumblr media
[You were thinking about formation attacks Arata. Formation attacks. God. It's not Hikaru's fault you didn't sleep.]
All in all, here's a summarized image.
Tumblr media
Now, get going to those stories set in one of these rooms.

[Daddy? Daddy. Looks at Kamiya Kousuke. Dad-dy~]
Very cute Hikaru. What LBX did he buy for you?
Tumblr media
It's an Amazoness. A strider framed LBX much like Kunoichi, so it specializes in speed, I assume. We can also assume this was his first LBX. This kid was born to be speedy, if Lucifer, Val Sparos and Val Diver are any indication. Damn son.

Phone Charms and CCM Colours
Most of the Jenockians have phone charms on their CCMs! That's really hella cute.
In the First Platoon, only Haruki and Sakuya have phone charms though. Bummer. I'd love to see what charms Arata and Hikaru would get.
Sakuya, typical of a mechanic, has a gear for a phone charm.
Tumblr media
But of course, most of us would remember that since we've seen his CCM and phone charm numerous times onscreen. Unfortunately for us, we've only seen Haruki's CCM and phone charm twice.
Tumblr media
Charming. It's a nail clipper.
It's silver, it looks like its made of steel, its long and it has two. Who am I to say there aren't any names written on those, aye? Either way, that's his phone charm. Befits him honestly.
But what about the colours of his CCM?
Since Haruki doesn't use his CCM out of a control pod onscreen other than the above screencap, we're lucky this came up in one episode.
Tumblr media
So yes, basically it's green and... brownish. [I'm sorry, I'm horrible with colours.] All in all, the three players here have CCM colour themes that corresponds to their LBXs. [You can see Haruki's phone charm there. Why is this so cute. Why is Haruki cute.]
We've seen Catherine's CCM in the first opening. But only the screen, so here's a cap I caught with it's back.
Tumblr media
It's a nice colour, honest. Gold... And those star charms. More like I hope I find one in the streets soon. [My inner phone charm enthusiast is speaking.]
I don't really need to cover Yuno, you can see her CCM all over the first ED. But just in case, here's a clear cap of the CCM and charm.
Tumblr media
I love how her charm is a donut. And her hair is in two donuts. And she loves the parfait from the cafe. I am convinced she's a sweet tooth. Adorable. This ED was adorable too. Why were the first episodes of DanSen Wars so adorable?
Tumblr media
Ah, Kaito. What a nice CCM... It fits him, and somewhat fits Val Sparos and the riding armour. Why do you not have a charm, dang it.
Tumblr media
Yeah, a battlefield of who has the best CCM colours.
And my bias is honestly, honestly, leaning on Muraku. Look at that violet. Look at that slick black line. Look at that. I'm making the loudest noise over Muraku's CCM. It's so pretty I'm in tears. And this is the only time we've seen it. Pain.
Shame he doesn't have a charm too. I wonder what it'd be.
