bro when I heard Daleth would like to talk about reproduction I laughed out loud.
who is the twins mother/parent :0? how exactly does birth work!!
*Upon hearing this question the twins froze, ad great distress and even fear took over their expressions. With every second the atmosphere became darker, and you swear you could feel like something, or someone, was watching. The two stuttered, trying to find the words
Mekh: I... our... mom...? *Sah, despite looking more terrified than Mekh, still was more talkative Sah: Oh... our... well... she-
*Before Sah could properly answer, Mekh quickly smashed their metal hand against their brother's mouth to silence him, and with a maniac look, as if something overtaken them, quickly answered with a fake laugh Mekh: mom? What mom? You must have mistaken something. We didn't- we don't have a mom. We are one star split into 2, just like the legend goes, you know, haha... *The shadows became thicker, and for some reason, you found yourself struggling to breathe, the twins seem to have trouble with that too. However, suddenly, the darkness disappeared. And while the atmosphere of uneasiness persisted, at least the bone chilling feeling of being watched disappeared as quickly as it appeared
Daleth: Sah? Mekh? Is everything all right? I came in to remind you that we have a meeting tomorrow, so you two will go sleep early. But I couldn't not notice the darkness that concentrated at the coliseum. Are you two alright? *The old man's gentle voice and caring aura seemed to snap the elders out of panic and clear out the rest of the darkness. The twins quickly looked at him, both sighing in relief.
Mekh: no no, everything is completely okay, haha! Especially with you here. You came just in time! I think this little punk here wants an answer to a question you are an expert in! *Mekh quickly pushed Daleth into the center, as if trying to change the subject Daleth: W-wow there, missy, careful! My back is more fragile than it used to be!
Daleth: So, a question for me, huh? Well, I would be more than happy to share my knowledge with you, my child. Quiet an interesting and a bit complicated one, may I say, but I shall do my best to explain it so you understand it at best...
Daleth: As most of you probably know, the mortal birth is quite a complicated process - two mortals sire a child together, and the person with the womb carries the baby for 9 months in their belly, until the baby's body is fully formed. At that point, the person carrying the child goes through labor, which ends up in the parent pushing out their newborn baby out of their body. However, that does not how it works for elders... or, well, more correctly: it doesn't work that way for STARS. The stars, unlike the mortals, are sexless beings - they do not have any reproductive organs, therefore, can not sire a child physically, the way the mortals do it.
Daleth: Because the Stars are lacking the reproductive system (just like many other systems), we rely on our CORES. The cores are a whole other topic, however, in short, they are the center of our beings - they are our soul and body, our conscious, and the source of our power. Your flying kind also has cores! Though it looks different from ours, as yours are in a shape of a candle and have a different purpose. But I'm getting a bit off track here. The cores of Stars are the thing that allows us to reproduce. When a Star wishes to become a parent, ko has two main ways of doing so: either by "star collapsing", in which the Star will "fuse" kavs core with a core of another Star, or by "virgin birth", in which the star will receive a blessing from the mighty bird of light herself. In both cases, it results in the same thing: a little twinkle is sired in the center of the core, to the happiness of the future parent.
Daleth: The Star will then carry the twinkle in kavs core (that they most of the time hide in a special chest cavity, just like you hide your candle) for an uncertain time, as each twinkle takes its own time to develop. At the end of the process, when the twinkle is ready, it breaks out of the center of the core, by penetrating the walls of the membrane that formed around it. It's a very complicated and painful process, almost as hard as the mortal birth. If everything goes successfully, the stretched-out membrane will shrivel and return to the original size of the center of the core. When the twinkle is out, it will take some time to gather strength and light. And if everything is okay - it will form a body from special light fluid it was covered in when it was inside kavs parent core, called "dvash". In the end, the Star will finally be able to hug kavs newborn starlight. I am lucky to be a birth helper, as I got to witness this magical process quite often throughout my life. My last time was with the twins when their mo-
*Suddenly, the twins interrupted the old man yet again, standing in front of him Sah: Oh, won't you look at that! The candles at our shrine almost run out! This is certainly interesting, but I am afraid we will have to say good night to you! Mekh: yes, it was nice to see you, but we have to go now. I can feel the fire on the candles dimming, and it's a signal our time is up. But we certainly will be happy to see you tomorrow! Goodnight! Daleth: But... but the child of light can easily replace the candles in the shrines- Sah: Sure thing, grandpa! Now let's get you to bed. *The two quickly pushed the old man away, as your vision faded to white. You found yourself back at the dark temple, with the candles burned down.

Part One
Part Two:
*as the time to speak about the Wasteland Elder came, The Twins became even more upset and even distressed.*
Mekh: Tsadi... we... we used to be pretty close... Sah: REALLY close... Mekh: they... cared for us through most of our childhood... so much so that we called him our-... *Mekh stopped kavself from speaking yet again, changing the subject* Mekh: when we were young... we were so happy being under his care. We always felt protected and cared for, and that nothing in the world could harm us while da- Tsadi is near... not even our future that layed in fog... Sah: We were happy... so much that we thought that our pain from loss could heal... despite being the general of the kingdom's army and an elder of a realm, they tried their best to give us as much time and care as they could... but then...
Mekh: ... but then... as time went by... we... drifted away. The time we spend together was less and less, and the number of arguments we had was more and more... until it cultivated into... a big scandal, that broke apart our connection, that was already in shambles, completely... *both twins lowered their heads in distress* Sah: ... he... still comes around often... Mekh: yea, to make sure we don't get into any trouble. *Mekh answered with pent up anger in their voice*
*The two went silent yet again, exchanging words that only they could hear. finally, they spoke again* Sah: Yet... we still hold them in high regards. Mekh: we are inspired by his bravery, strength and loyalty, and his determination to protect everyone...
Samekh: Even if it HURTS him.
Mekh: finally, there is Lamed. We... often argue, as we have completely different opinions. Sah: We hate how bossy she is of us, and that she sees us incapable of holding any responsibility Mekh: he sees us as children, but unlike Ayin, not in a nurturing way. Sah: He expects us to act like adults, yet she never treats us like them.
Mekh: but... we don't hate her... she might annoy us often, but in the end, we care about him a lot. Sah: We can't deny it - she IS smart, and probably knows what to do in different situations. We just wish he would let us have our independence more. Mekh: She was our teacher through all of our childhood and adolescents, and everything we know is thanks to her. Sah: We appreciate her knowledge and her never-ending will to learn more, and her pursuit of fixing hers and our mistakes...
Samekh: Even if it SCARS her

what do yall think about the rest of the Elders?
Part One:
*Samekh both rolled their eyes at the question, visibly annoyed, yet despite this, decided to answer the question* Sah: ah, yes, of course. The others. Mekh: can't have a moment to ourselves without people immediately wondering about the other, "adult" and "responsible" elders. Sah: Why is our opinion about them even matters? Mekh: whatever. Let's just get this over with.
Mekh: Daleth is... well, old. Sah: A walking fossil, if I may say. Mekh: so of course, we, who are the youngest, don't get along with him very well. He is the type of person who likes it "the old way", always complaining about the new generation and trying to teach us the "wisdom" and "morals" of his time. Sah: Moreover, despite our best efforts to show that we are not interested, he still tries to "befriend" us and become one with the "fellow teens". Mekh: and while we appreciate the effort of him trying to become "trendy" and "cool", this is just not for him, and this is only inflicting unspoken emotions of shame on us. Sah: Sometimes it makes me cringe so hard that I collapse into myself, and not only metaphorically. And this is pretty painful, mind you, both physically and emotionally.
Sah: ... But... despite all of this... we can't help but have a warm spot for him. We may not get along well now and clashed a lot during DarkStone era, however, we share a lot of warm memories with him during our early years. He helped care for us when we were infants and toddlers, you know? Mekh: and he always tells the best stories... Sah: Yea! I could listen to them for hours... the stories about God's era were my favorite. Mekh: And we also admire his determination and dedication to following his morals and staying true to what he believes in....
Samekh: no matter WHAT.
Mekh: Ayin is... a very caring type... TOO caring. Sah: she treats us as kids. Mekh: not that the others don't, but he does it in a... nurturing way. Sah: They act like an over-nurturing grandma. Mekh: I also highly dislike his hopefulness. Sometimes it feels like she ignores all the problems in the world just to stay positive. Sah: They act like nothing happened, like the kingdom we ruled over isn't in shambles and everything can be fixed with some "faith".
Mekh: but... I will confess that we often envy them for their ability to close off from the problems... Sah: Yea... their over positiveness often allows us to... ignore the regrets we have, even if for a short while. Mekh: besides, just like Daleth, she holds a special place in our hearts. Sah: Days from our childhood spent at his realm were happy ones. So carefree... I wish we could return to this time when we had no care in the world. Just the two of us, running at the green fields, feeling that we can conquer the land and the sky. Back when... we were truly happy, with no sorrow of loss and responsibility crushing us under its weight. Mekh: besides, we appreciate their readiness to work countless hours to help everyone and make everyone happy...
Samekh: Even if it CRASHES him.
*After finishing talking about Ayin, the two stay silent for a few moments, getting visibly upset* Mekh: Teth is... Sah: It's... our opinion about her is complicated... Mekh: there... was a time when we... Sah: we were close. Mekh: we almost became a fa- *Mekh went silent, cutting kavself from continuing what ko meant to say*
*Sah sighed, continuing instead of his sibling* Sah: But then mo-... an accident happened... and... well... they closed off from us... and most of the other elders Mekh: ... let's just say... we don't talk much anymore... ... I'll be honest, I still feel... hurt... that she turned away from us... Sah: ... when we needed them most...
*The two went silent again, but you could sense that they said something to each other, even if you didn't hear it. Finally, they spoke again* Sah: Teth... might look scary at first, but we know how nice she actually is. She just has too many scars to show it... Mekh: despite everything, we hold them in high esteem. Their craft and talent, and their selfless neverending for improving the lives of people of the kingdom is something that we admire.
Samekh: Even if it DESTROYS her.

Double baked garlic bread
so yesterday I dreamed up a food concoction that I would love to yet am scared to pull off.
As the title suggests, it is called double baked garlic bread. And to make it you take regular garlic bread, put a large amount of more garlic butter again and bake it for a little while more.
I also remember in my dream that if you REALLY wanted to up your game, you could put on some provolone and tomato slices before you bake it a second time.
Given that this site is known for its garlic bread obsession, I'd thought I'd put it here and maybe find someone who would be brave enough to try their own spin on my dream food as I have zero cooking skills.
