more about me
fun fact about me! i do ceramics and pottery on the side, when im not overwhelmed with trememdous amounts of schoolwork and research. yesterday was actually my first time selling any of my work in person, and i was at the oberlin college winter makers' market! it was very cool. i actually ended up completely selling out, which i did *not* expect, but hey! pretty cool. I made about $500, which. is a lot of money. but first i need to pay my mom back for getting my laptop fixed, so in reality i only made like 250 or something. a few weeks ago, the week of thanksgiving* break, she decided she Was Not Having It Anymore and gave up on me. which is odd bc she is like, only two years old? anyway she is all better now. anyways the reason im talking about pottery at the moment is because i'm currently at the pottery co-op, and it is currently about seven in the morning. I've been here since like 6, and it is <3 very cold outside <3. this is the last firing before the empty mugs event, which is the super big annual co op charity event thingy. anyways, i am currently one of the two vps for the co op, which is very cool, but makes me a little nervous scared. I've only got like one semester left with the current leadership and then i and my future co-pres and small leadership team will have to handle all of this together. it makses me very nervous!!!!! but hey, i am sure it will be ok. I'm pretty excited about getting to sell more of my pottery in the future. rn i need to start brainstorming for the spring makers market!!! i think i want to start branching off into more weird things, instead of just traditionally aesthetic functional work. i also want to try to get back into vases and throwing larger work! the past year has mostly just been mugs, bowls, cups, and plates, which is plenty fun, but is getting a little boring. anyways, i'll be at the co op for pretty much the whole day babysitting the kiln firing. we should be just below glaze boiling point right now, and we're about to turn on the second of our two gas burners! fun fact for anyone who is reading this, you can follow my ceramics acct on instagram @ jamjarceramics <3 future posts about some queer theory currently in the works! much love, mwah

first little blog thought :3
im in my early 2000s bloggergirl era!! wow this is so silly. in my head there's so much pressure to post coherent thoughts here. there probably isnt though, i know that approximately three people will see my silly little takes, myself included. anyways, welcome to the inside of my noggin! I'm gonna be blogging mostly about things that are happing in my classes right now, I'm a sophmore in my undergrad at Oberlin college. I'm double majoring in neuroscience and psychology, and then minoring in GSFS (gender, sexuality, and feminist studies)!! Most of the blogging is probably going to be about queer theory, and whatever else is on my silly little brain.
