My Dishonored 1 Experience.
So I played only a little of the original Dishonored when it came out in 2012 and didn’t really get into it as much as I wanted to. Thankfully I picked up the Triple Pack and now get to witness the whole series back to back. Now while I don’t listen and read into ALL lore, there have been a few things i’ve picked up that I find interesting or hilarious.
Just a note, I haven’t completed the game yet, or progressed very far, so I’ll politely ask to keep spoilers to a minimum...
Is there an actual reason for Wallace? I love the Hound Pits crew and all of their interactions and maybe high chaos Wallace is more interesting, but he just kinda... bitches at people and then leaves. “You can’t CURTSY?!” Like alright man, calm down, it’s not that serious... Emily isn’t that much of a stickler.
Piero has shown to be weirdly into Callista, as far as to peer through the keyhole of the bathroom at one point... but am I the only one that thinks Piero just wants really rough hate sex with Sokolov after hearing his audiographs? Like I get it, you were rivals, but I don’t think Sokolov obsesses over you in the same way my dude. Keep your Golden Cat inventions away from us as well... you smart little weirdo.
Treavor Pendleton is the most metal character of the Hound Pits Pub and no-one can tell me any different. The guy flat out survives being tied down and attacked by vipers because of his brothers. He even admits that he killed a fair few of them by stamping them into a pulp... Then goes on in another audiograph to talk about how easy it is for him to sleep with the Boyle Sisters, Like we get it Treavor, you fuck.
Sokolov is an ass man and I don’t know what to do with that information.
Admiral Havelock is starting to give me major villain vibes when he starts talking about maybe becoming Lord Regent after mentioning his aspirations to lead a navy in Emily’s name. C’mon now Farley, let’s stay good here now. We’ve come so far.
Emily is scary and confusing, one second I swear she has grand designs to be the next Madame of the Golden Cat and the next she’s pestering Havelock about sinking ships when she’s Empress, the pirates Havelock has encountered and the witches(?) that stay on board to command the whales. And the scared replies of  “yes, of course” from Havelock until he breaks and shuts down the conversation.
I will be sure to write more as I find more to talk about i’m sure.

After Some Time (...and a break or two)
Ugh... okay, its here. The big one. Let me preface this by saying I wont be doing a count by count story of what happened, it’s too many hour and headaches that I don’t need to be fair. But I said I’d get to it... and boy howdy has it been swirling in my head since.
The Slazo Situation Revisited
So small backstory for those who haven’t boarded this crazy train of bullshit and migraines, this story is about a fairly large commentary youtuber by the name of Slazo (Or Micheal) who was caught in a controversy when his ‘Ex-Girlfriend’ exposed him in a Twitlonger for being a manipulative, sexual harasser. DM’s and screenshots of chat logs were shown and it made Slazo look pretty scummy. A few days later Slazo releases his defence video outlining the parts that were true and a lot of points that were fabricated to make him look evil in the eyes of the internet, with added proof and conveniently missing parts of his exes proof that would have exonerated him on the spot in the eyes of the internet courtroom. For opinions sake, yes I do think Slazo is innocent of the more damning accusations that were put against him, no I do not think he was 100% innocent. Of what he was guilty of? maybe being a pretty shitty boyfriend.... though at the age of 15-16... its slap on the back of the head material... not cancellation worthy.
Slazo was pretty much cleared of it all and everybody went on with their day... heck it shouldn’t even be called the Slazo situation, because while his name was brought up a lot, he wasn’t really all that key to what happened next...
Commentary youtubers from all corners of the internet had an opinion on what Slazo had done and how guilty he was (again, I will not be doing a play by play of every accusation) which boiled down to two camps
1. “Slazo is guilty and here is why... Oh and have a bunch of off-cuff situations I witnessed where Slazo was really creepy that I only just now remember and want to bring up.”
2. “Lotta commentary youtubers being liars, snakes or hypocrites up in here.”
Which in turn brought two youtubers under the microscope themselves, ImAlexx and Hyojin.
Alex first as it’s easier and is the least weird of the two. Alex jumped on the Slazo hate bandwagon pretty quickly and started accusing Slazo of a bunch of things that couldn’t easily be proven, while also completely backing up the story that Chey (the ex) has given in her Twitlonger, despite the fact it had been blown open with so many holes that not even a brain dead goldfish could find logic in it. Alex would later admit he had a part in writing the Twitlonger, as did many other prominent commentary youtubers and friends, outing the Twitlonger as more of a team effort rather than just Chey writing it herself.
After this Alex was accused of a bunch of stuff himself including being a social climber to get more popular since he was a pretty good friend to Slazo before all of this happened, as well as a snake since he supported Chey and the Twitlonger until it was criticised as untrue.... and Alex said the same to cover for himself.
To this day there hasn’t been a clear end point to this, Alex has tried to brush away from it all and has taken the bumps of being called controversial, hoping for it to all die down eventually. (While writing this Alex appeared on the Happy Hour Podcast to give a rundown of the situation to the hosts who admitted they knew nothing of the situation. What’s worse Alex seems to have glazed over many of his own wrongdoings that only escalated the drama further.) Opinion? To be honest, I don’t know... Alex obviously tried to ride the controversy to boost himself, that much is sure, yet when it came back to bite him he tried to hide and wait for it to blow over. It’s sad, It IS snakeworthy and since a proper apology hasn’t been issued... it’s not a good look for him at all.
Hyojin to me was the worst of the two to me. While she didn’t say as much publicly, it was was was happening behind the scenes that just frustrated me.
(Be aware, if you like Hyojin and think she can do no wrong, DO NOT READ PAST THIS POINT. A lot of hot-takes will be thrown out there and a lot of criticism will be put out there too. I WILL be talking about the aftermath at length which is where the support poured in for Hyojin. I will being ripping that apart just as much, if not more for the bullshit that it was.)
Hyojin sucks, and I mean she really sucks. A lot of what was thrown out about Slazo in the Twitlonger allegedly was orchestrated and was the idea of Hyojin herself, taking what Chey was saying and embellishing it with the rest of their friend group. It’s alleged however and won’t be part of the criticism thrown at her.
While the incident was being investigated, Hyojin was too, including her colourful hot takes on Slazo and how creepy he was. Hyojin would never publicly call out Slazo since at the time, anybody who did was getting rinsed by the internet very quickly. So instead she hid on her discord and talked in DM’s about destroying Slazo’s career so he would never recover and deleting messages that challenged how Chey publicly omitted any evidence that made Slazo look like less of a monster. Shady.
During the internet investigations, it was discovered that Hyojin had an old art Twitter where her fictional character was drawn fucking her friends in several positions. The problem was, several of these friends were underage and despite her defence that none of these friends minded.... it was still there for public viewing as was still wrong. One instance even had another youtuber by the name of Kavos in one of these pictures even though he was never asked, nor gave his permission. The irony of all this being that much of what Hyojin criticised Slazo for, she was guilty of herself. Creepy.
Here’s where it gets controversial... probably more for me. Dog dropping rumours aside. (trust me, it was stupid)
Hyojin was getting major flak for everything that was found out about her and it seemed to get too much for her, which is understandable. Her response to all of this was a tweet telling everyone she was going to kill herself. The public response actually became something that confused me, because in the blink of an eye everyone retracted their criticisms and gave out well wishes instead. To make the trend even more sympathetic the youtubers involved in writing the Twitlonger started urging people to give her space and lay off on the nasty comments.
I for one, did not care. Heartless of me? Maybe. But it was all backed up by reasoning. Here was a girl ready to throw the life of a person under the bus for being a slightly shitty boyfriend and lying to make it sound worse. Helping to write up a statement that grossly exaggerated things to such a degree that Slazo was the most hated person on the internet and was blasted by everyone left, right and centre. After he proved to everyone he wasn’t like that, the attention turned on Chey and the friends that helped her and when their dirty laundry was put out there and they were being criticised.... now it was unacceptable? Now it was too much?
YOU TRIED TO OUT A GUY FOR BEING A SEX PEST! Shit that will follow him for life. But people calling out racist remarks you made? the underage porn you had drawn? The toxic behaviour you exhibited to anyone who questioned you?
....yeah that was too much and the line had to be drawn right?
But hey, it’s okay, you can just back to twitter the second the drama blows over and everything is all good now right?
Now this is where I direct it to the people who think that Hyojin is infallible, that she can do no wrong. She messed up bad, real bad. If anything she’s the true villain behind all of this and it’s shocking the lengths people were going to just to defend her. If every racist, abuser or sex pest threatened their life to be let off, this world would be screwed, but the second a darling Tumblr artist with links to popular youtubers does it, it’s a crime to list the irony that she attempted to cancel a guy with far worse repercussions that would lead to life long damage.
The worst part of all of this was that an apology would have cleared all of this. They knew they were wrong but an apology was impossible for them, so instead it’s made bigger, uglier and dirty laundry is shown. If anything, I’m happy it got to where it did since it showed the ugly side of Hyojin for everyone to see. So my opinion of Hyojin?
Fuck Hyojin.

After Some Time....
So the past week or two has been very enlightening on the internet and especially across social media. When I first made this blog it was intended to share and immerse myself in fandoms and cultures I enjoyed, yet quickly veered towards the dramas and controversies I had felt strongly about.
Since I’ve started I’ve followed two stories quite closely and ironically in the past two weeks, these problems have received the ‘bow on top’ treatment as people put their points to rest and the situations are seen as complete. I had some strong opinions and now want to clarify if my points changed or not and where I stand, not so much as to stir the controversies further but to put it out of my head by just writing it down to the best of my ability.
I noted quite quickly that my posts would garner a few hearts and reposts and didn’t want to be seen as the guy that drudges through drama for the easy recognition, as I said this blog was made to be an escape as well as put my mind at ease with the things swirling around my skull. SO without further ado...
The Projared Situation
Of the two stories, I had definitely followed this one the least, if not only because the ‘he said, she said’ was just so bizarre and points made just started to conflict each other.
Since then Jared himself released a video going through the major points, and the stuff I covered started to look weird... The consensual nature of his NSFW blog seemed easier to digest when you realized that fans were more than happy to show themselves off and while it still isn’t something I’m comfortable with myself, the receipts shown prove that while odd to me, it was universally consensual, Jared even making the point that it wasn’t from an abuse of power (that he lorded his internet fame over starry-eyed stans) but more from a power imbalance that he has looked back and noticed himself (that fans felt willing to expose themselves to prove they were bigger fans to him in their heads)
The Charlie and Chai situation became a main focus of the video and it was easy to say why. Their stories of a deviant grown man asking for nudes of minors was debunked, and it seemed that it was all created as a way to gain sympathy points, internet fame, and monetary compensation. One of the two accusers Chai, who had the biggest spotlight put on them was outed as never actually sending messages (let alone lewd body shots) to Jared, which take whether you believe him or not, he has admitted his involvement in the NSFW blog, so why lie now?
What was more concerning though, was that the timeline given coincided with Chai’s Medium blog posts which illustrated a severe basketball neck injury that caused gas in memory, personality changes and concerning thoughts of harming people around them if help wasn’t provided. The verdict being less about “why did you say this about me” and more centered around “get better, I hope you’re okay” because at this point, why hit back against someone seemingly vulnerable?
Charlie’s account confused me, mainly because it seemed to echo a lot of points that Chai had already addressed in an almost copy/paste sort of way, but also because it had actually been a real interaction... Jared and Charlie had spoken and it seemed all too friendly but as soon as the controversy swelled, Charlie had an idea. Take your DM’s, remove the part where you admitted you are 18+ therefore deceiving either Jared by lying or your captive audience by removing it later, then waiting for the outcry of support that was soon to follow.
What later followed was links to amazon wishlists and commission pages for their art blogs. Capitalizing on the drama and false victimhood? maybe, but what was more concerning was the fact that the two of them had been communicating and were supporting each other, but not just with kind words, also with said plans of monetizing their supposed grief to reap all the rewards before they were caught. Want to read their statements? Tough. They deleted them as soon as people started to scrutinize the finer details and points they made.
So... The bigger scandal that was on the table... The whole Heidi/Holly situation. Will I cover it? No. Why? because it’s still as messy as before...
Jared says there was no cheating at all, something RubberRoss can corroborate as the previous partner to Holly.
There’s apparently several bits of evidence that suggests that Heidi was the more possessive and antagonistic party... Which we won’t see until current legal proceedings are over.
There’s the long string of angry Heidi tweets that came out after Jared’s video came out which should be carefully looked at (side note, Heidi has proved an unreliable narrator as many of her points have been proven false by screenshots in the past. She’s also proven to be quite antagonistic when people have asked for proof for any heavy accusation she posts)
There’s even the written letter Chai and Charlie co-wrote and sent to people like the GameGrumps and other news sources to try and discredit Jared (except they had omitted parts to keep Jared looking guilty after he apologized for the stress he’s put them under, not so much as an admission of guilt, but just to keep the peace and stop further leaks of untruth.
Heck, we could even talk about the fact that several internet personalities that reported on the situation or reacted as the news broke decided to give a character opinion on him too quickly without his side and even deleted their involvement with him as well as making snide jokes about the situation without ever actually reaching out to him.
So what’s my verdict after all this? Well, it’s plain to see. Many people looked at Jared as guilty since he never responded or looked to correct any accusations as they came in, it also meant that several false stories could be made and without Jared to dispute them, were quickly considered the truth as well. This skewed public perception, including mine. It became apparent as more was revealed that Jared was never the squeaky clean person we thought he was, and coming away from this there will still be people that look at him as shady. Would it be worth dragging back up after all these legal proceedings are finished so a final word can be given? probably not... It’s a weird situation sure, but not as cut and dry and people want it to be. I liked the response Jared made. He admitted his wrongdoings, realized his position as a content creator had a power imbalance when concerning his NSFW blog and even gave an air of concern for the two accusers who looked to monetize his downfall. I’ll definitely be putting this one to bed though because as I said all that’s left is part of his private life and not for us to spectate.

Just some Perspective
I’ve had enough comments asking why I milked this story into the ground for probable clicks, favorites and reposts.
1. It’s shocking how many people jumped into all of this only looking at one side. Any fans of the accusers quickly built up a wall of idolization that tried to shield their favorite creators from criticism. It doesn’t work like that, and if you do something shitty, you deserve to be put on blast for being shitty on a public forum. The irony in that is incredible.
2. I could go about my day quite easily without needing to look at my interactions tab. I’m a simple guy who liked to document a story (usually drama) in a semi-sarcastic manner so that anyone who sees it is informed. You could read and pass the posts by and I’ll still be happy. It’s off my chest at the end of the day.
3. The real reason I got so into this story. As I’ve already mentioned, I’m a guy. And with that, the story of Slazo hit me harder than most people who have viewed the story as a whole. When Slazo was accused of sexual harassment, a lot of people jumped onto his case, and because of the state of cases like this in the last 10 years was quickly torn down as a result. Most cases like this, a girl makes a tell-all account of what happened and it’s believed and when it’s revealed as a lie people will still say that parts of it must be true, otherwise, why would she say it?
If a guy made the same kind of post then it’s quickly brushed aside as “You were abused by a girl? You must have been too weak to let all that happen” and it gets laughed away. Slazo fighting to prove his innocence proved this as even after his video debunking all the lies and Chey's proof was posted, it was only when other YouTubers picked the story up and questioned the validity of Chey’s post that everyone else questioned it too. People say the double standard only applies to women not being able to do the same things as men, but become painfully ignorant when a man wants to be given the same attention about a situation of abuse as women do.
Women get harassed, we get a hashtag movement backed by celebrities. Men get harassed, we’re asked to grow bigger balls.
I’m going to leave this post tagless so it doesn't circulate too much, I just wanted to get the word out there to anybody that does to care to look at my posts after my range of rant-reporting has been scrolled through. Will I cover more of this story? If it gets more painfully whacked... probably.

An Artist’s Fans in Denial
So Hyojin drops her twitter post threatening her life and anyone who collaborated with the Chey post changes tune and cries out for support, wishing Hyojin better and gathering as much support as possible. This would be fine for any regular situation. But while people were still angry at Hyojin...
WE UNDERSTOOD SHE WAS HAVING A ROUGH TIME
So when everyone turned to the commentary crew who had taken their heads out of the sand to show support, their only responses were “Be ReSpEcTfUl Of HyOjIn’S fEeLiNgS”
Nice move, but as big boys and girls, we understand when to lay off for a bit, we’re not stupid, but that doesn’t mean she’s absolved of all guilt.
Now, this is where it may get rough, criticism is needed here but that does not mean I‘m channeling hate towards the girl or being disrespectful. A disclaimer for delicate fans.
Just because Hyojin posted that she was threatening her life, her fans thought this was a good time to absolve her of all guilt. It doesn’t. The record still shows that the whole commentary group messed up and all was needed was a simple apology. Instead, they all doubled down and made other accusations, further damaging the career of somebody that has only just managed to turn 20 and now has sexual misconduct allegations tied to his name for life.
Remember, all that was needed was an apology to start mending all of this so Slazo wasn’t incorrectly labeled as a creep.
When Hyojin’s own string of scandals surfaced and her doubling down on Slazo got hostile, so did the people she argued with. Which culminated in the above-stated post. The pressure got to be too much.
I want the Hyojin defenders to first realize the irony in that last statement: The. Pressure. Got. To. Be. Too. Much.
“Why hasn’t Slazo addressed the scandal quick enough? Nobody who’s innocent stays quiet this long”
Yet people I’ve spoken to state that Slazo didn’t get it as bad as Hyojin... That he wasn’t driven to suicidal thoughts...
*NEWSFLASH* Who knows WHAT was going through his mind while he was being so quiet on his socials?
Some will say it was a stunt by Hyojin to shift eyes off herself, some will say it all happened and it’s the critic’s faults. But honestly, it all comes down to this
A bunch of children tried to play judge, jury, and executioner with dodgy info they got from a friend without first validating it. Then all got burnt individually when it was discovered to be bad info. Some pointed fingers, some jumped ship to avoid the biggest waves, and they all believed an apology to an innocent man was beneath them.
Oh and as for Alex’s ‘apology’? Yeah fuck that, that apology was full of more pointed fingers and lies. Bullshit merchant strikes again.

Drama and the State of My Sanity
So I mentioned before that I would have to tiptoe through the next parts of all this drama because it gets kinda sketchy to talk about. At this point, Slazo takes a complete backseat as no-one who originally jumped onto the drama train even focuses on him anymore. I was really surprised when Nicholas DeOrio did an interview with him about all the recent developments, almost as if to wave Slazo in the air so people could see who this war was over again.
The reason it all gets sketchy to talk about or criticize is because of one prominent person. Hyojin.
Now, disclaimer first because this is important. I need to strike a line in the sand when it comes to reactions over this. First and foremost, yes it does sound like I’m coming for someone who isn’t in the right state of mind right now and many people who are defending Hyojin throw this up as a defense for why Hyojin cannot be criticized. It’ stupid and hopefully by reading this, you’ll understand why...
So as it was mentioned before, not all of what Chey said was 100% accurate, and ommissions in the proof she provided showed she was just as manipulative and deceitful as she claimed Slazo was in the beginning. What made this even worse was the number of prominent commentary channels and fellow artists who had jumped on the bandwagon to demonize Slazo, but none worse than Hyojin. There was the previously discussed cancellation of Slazo, the discord DMs and the fact she was a headline contributor to the Twitlonger that Chey posted.
After all that, her own shit was hung out to dry and this turned all the attention onto her. Accusations of animal abuse, a cheating scandal, and a 2nd twitter account where she drew pornographic images of herself and her friends who at the time were underage. It was a dumpster fire of accusations that had a hefty amount of proof to back them up. Top that off with a number of Hyojin Clapbacks which included heavy racism and you can say Hyojin had her back up against the wall.
This culminated in Hyojin posting on twitter that she tried to kill herself from all the abuse she was getting and I’m not going to stand here and say she deserved that in the slightest. She’s a human being and deserves some decency when it comes to confrontation. Civility isn’t impossible to show.
My problem comes with her fans.... oh boy her fans.....

“The wonderful thing about telling stories is sometimes we can have empathy for people on screen that we wouldn’t normally have empathy for in life.
