I keep restarting because I end up hating the way I'm playing. Do you have any recommendations for settings to have off or no in game?
Hii! Hmm, do you have any idea what it is you hate about the way you're playing? Do you think it feels to forced or do you feel like you can't focus on your generation or something? Or that there is too little happening?
I don't really look at the settings a lot, if I am being honest.. But sometimes it helps to turn Autonomy off/on if you want more/less say in what your sims do on their own. If you think there is too little happening and you have Seasons, you can make the seasons shorter, so you have change in your world more often. Or make it longer and add even more hollidays! I love adding and creating new holidays :)
It could also help to download a few mods if you can :) I personally love mods that add rabbithole activities or new moodlets. I have answered a questions about mods on another post, you can take a look there for some suggestions.
Feel free to ask if there is something else bothering you :)

Greek Goddess Legacy Challenge: Generation #12 Iris: Complete
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last one in our line, end of this challenge.. And what better way to end it than to revisit all our previous stories? Iris, goddess of the Rainbow and Messenger of the Gods, is here to tell you every story you want to hear. Give it up, for Iris!
From a young age you have loved stories and writing them for your family. it turns out, you have a talent for it, making even the bleakest stories interesting. Your favorite stories are the ones you hear Growing up. the stories about your ancestors. Great stories about strong women and the challenges of their lives. You hear how every one of them had their own uniqueness and strength to them. There are some blanks in their stories already, And you hate to think that those stories go to waste after people stop telling them. So you decide to write them all down. you will be a published writer, famous for the great stories about your family. After all, every story is worth telling.
Little bit explanation with the sheets: - First sheet is for describing your current generation, with the challenges you need to do each life-stage. Also, because I love the myths, a bit of mythological background. May it inspire you :) - Second sheet is the preparation sheet for this generation, with important characters for your story. It is technically optional, but I love seeing sims with a backstory in my world, so I would highly recommend it. - Third sheet is for your gens children. They all have their own little challenges if your interested in those. I try to make all of them a bit different from each other, so it doesn’t get boring. Your heir is also on this sheet, but I’ve put their challenges on their own sheets. Stay tuned for those ;) - Fourth (and Fifth!) sheet is completely optional. If you want sims with names from the myths and love making sims to see them in your world, this is for you! All with a little mythological background ofc, you know me. Previous Generation was Artemis First Generation is Gaia
The Greek Goddesses Challenge by LJJ-Sims is a challenge based on the ancient mythical creatures and stories from Greece. I fell in love with Greek mythology in high school and have not let that love go since. In this challenge you will follow 10 deities in their journey through life. Every goddess has a different take on and goal in life. Special about this challenge?  All your kids have little challenges of their own, not only your heir. These challenges are optional, so if you feel like these are too much or just too restricting for you: by all means let them go. I also have sheets for characters that you can make before you start each generation. This gives your challenge a lot more personality and makes it frankly easier and more fun!
A little disclaimer: because I made these gods and goddesses into a legacy challenge, the relationships in the myths don’t exactly match the relationship in this challenge. There is a lot of keep it in the family in mythology, to put it lightly. And apart from the fact that you can’t do that in the Sims, I don’t really like that part. So I didn’t include it, thus the inconsistency. An example: Ares is now Hera’s stepfather instead of her son, which she conceived with her brother  and husband Zeus. This inconsistency can also be found in the stories. It’s just based on and not copied exactly, as Sims live lives that are a lot shorter than those of immortal gods. And it takes a way from the creativity if we just copy the myths. Even if we wanted to do that, it’s quite hard, as every myths has its fair share of variations and some are just completely different stories.
I use the MCCC-mod to alter the length of life states. You can find the days-years ratio here: the boring stuff.
I get all the information from several sites about mythology, but mostly use https://greekgodsandgoddesses.net/goddesses. This is a great place to start if you want to know the myths surrounding a certain god or goddess. Wikipedia is also a friend of mine in this challenge, although I automatically doubt a lot of information that is on there. More of a book person? I absolutely adore Stephen Fry’s Mythos, which is very beginner friendly, and Nathalie Haynes Pandora’s jar. For little synopses of gods, I would recommend Greek Mythology: The Gods, Goddesses, and Heroes Handbook by Liv Albert.

I’m amazed at the amount of work you’ve put into your Greek goddess challenge 😍 it’s making me want to finally pickup sims 4 again
I know you can complete it without mods, but did you have any recommended mods while doing this challenge other than MCCC?
Hii, I am so sorry, for the late reaction.. I didn't see your message. First off; thank you so much! I'm so ha ppy you like it! Second, as you've said, you don't really need any more mods than MCCC (which is also optional). I would recommend a few other mods though!
UI cheats mod by weerbesu (just because it is very convenient, you can just click any need and fill it to a certain point and there are more cheats available in this mod, a true lifesaver at times!)
Shorter University Degrees mod by The Peridot Project (Because you spend almost all your young adulthood at Uni at this rate, and I just want them to be there for about 4/6 years max (so about 2 weeks))
Traveling Toddlers mod by Kawaii Stacy (Love this mod, because I just miss daycare in the sims... I can't always look after the toddlers if I want to do a challenge as well. And toddlers get quite boring after a few days hahaha)
Explore Mod by Kawaii Stacy (also, to just send sims I'm not playing with away to get them to gain skills of fill their needs)
Wonderful Whims (I just love the idea of sims being attracted to certain things, like in real life. Also gives the opportunity to shorten the pregnancy length, which I love)
These are the first few to come to mind, although they are all not necessary for this challenge. It just adds a little dept :)

Greek Goddess legacy Challenge: Generation #11 Artemis: Completed
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Protectress of girls, goddess of the hunt and the moon and so much more, here is Artemis!
You grew up in a loving family, a total mama’s girl. You work hard to win and be the best, win medals. But, as you grow, you find that medals just don’t do it for you. You feel way more fulfilled when you help people around you. When you care for helpless creatures. There are people and animals out there who can’t fend for themselves. And you can. You can save them. Anger boils in you when you see all those sims mistreated and hurt. So you promise yourself you will cure the world, sim by sim.

Greek Goddess Legacy Challenge: Generation #10 Nike: Completed
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why compete if not to win? Please welcome goddess of Victory, Nike!
Growing up with 2 older brothers, you felt the constant need to prove yourself to them. Be as cool as them. as Strong as them. Be better then them, even thought they try to keep you small. and when you grow older, they find they can’t anymore. you’ve found that your strength lies in sports. running, swimming, lifting; anything you can win medals with, you love. And it so happens your favorite color is gold. so it’s decided then: you will win all gold medals in sports you can. you will be the fastest. the strongest. the best. you will not back down before you have reached your goal. You are a winner.
Little bit explanation with the sheets: - First sheet is for describing your current generation, with the challenges you need to do each life-stage. Greek Goddess Legacy Challenge, Generation #9 Nemesis: Completed
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next up, we will call a witness in: Meet Nemesis, goddess of retribution.
Seeing how easily your father got away with cheating and hurting so many people, you decide you will make things right in the world. Together with your twin-sister and best friend, Themis, you start studying hard for that one goal: becoming a lawyer. You will protect all the innocent sims from their abusive spouses. With full confidence you embark on this journey. some say your methods are cold and heartless, but you know your heart is way purer than that of those you bring to their knees in court. Justice will be served.
(IN THIS CASE, ONE OF THE CHILDREN IS ON THIS SHEET AS WELL) - Third sheet is for your gens children. They all have their own little challenges if your interested in those. I try to make all of them a bit different from each other, so it doesn’t get boring. Your heir is also on this sheet, but I’ve put their challenges on their own sheets. Stay tuned for those ;) (YOUNGEST DAUGHTER, ECHO IS ON PREP SHEET) - Fourth sheet is completely optional. If you want sims with names from the myths and love making sims to see them in your world, this is for you! All with a little mythological background ofc, you know me.

Greek Goddess Legacy Challenge: Generation #8 Amphitrite: Completed
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Following the sun to another kingdom: Meet our queen of the Sea, Amphitrite!
You love dancing around with your friends and partying with them! Being young is a gift and you take full advantage of it in the city, going out every weekend. Your friends start getting in relationships, but you are not in a hurry. You know love and family is something that comes naturally. The person you marry should feel like your best friend. You should build your home with that person. So when you meet Poseidon, you decide not to marry him when he asks you. You barely know him! But he doesn’t seem to be giving up. And giving up everything to marry someone should count for something too. Right?
Little bit explanation with the sheets: - First sheet is for describing your current generation, with the challenges you need to do each life-stage. Also, because I love the myths, a bit of mythological background. May it inspire you :) - Second sheet is the preparation sheet for this generation, with important characters for your story. It is technically optional, but I love seeing sims with a backstory in my world, so I would highly recommend it. - Third sheet is for your gens children. Will you do any other challenges after this one? I love the way you have done this one
Hii, thank you so much! To be honest, I am not sure.. I usually do these kind of projects when I am hyperfixating on something (this time, the Sims Challenges and Greek Mythology) and It could very well be that I will no longer be thinking about challenges after I finish it.. I once started making a savefile to post here, because I was bored of the default townies, but forgot about it after a few weeks hahaha. But who knows! I might get another obsession with a form of media and make a challenges surrounding that. Wouldn't know what it would be about though.. I have to say that Mythology is one of the very few things I know a lot about and love doing research on every now and then. You're welcome to do suggestions on a theme if you like, maybe if I like it too I can make a challenge with it :)

The Greek Goddess Legacy Challenge: Generation #8 Amphitrite: Preview
Tumblr media
This weeks generation: Amphitrite, queen of the Seas.
I will post the others sheets shortly :) My study is getting in the way of spending as much time on this challenge, but I'll try my best to finish a generation each week :)
World Preparation Children (Triton, Nemesis, Themis) Worldfillers
Just found out about this challenge? Don’t worry! You can get started here, with generation 1.
The next generation will be Nemesis. Her character and challenge will be posted soon (still a work in progress)

Greek Goddess Legacy Challenge: Generation #7 Athena: Completed
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here to fill all of your sims' lives with wisdom: Athena, goddess of Wisdom and Strategic Warfare!
You very much dislike the turbulent nature your family seems to have. Why use magic when you can use logic to solve it? Do you really have to use a spell for every minor inconvenience? You believe a strong and smart sim gets her power elsewhere. From a young age it was clear: you are a prodigy. You learn faster than your siblings and easily see how things are connected in the world. After you go to university, you move to the big city. A city full of crime and mysteries. and you are determined to make all those wrongs right. with your mind.
Stay tuned for those ;) - Fourth sheet is completely optional. If you want sims with names from the myths and love making sims to see them in your world, this is for you! All with a little mythological background ofc, you know me.
Next Generation is Amphitrite! Previous Generation was Hecate First Generation is Gaia
