oof hi your dual dreamer signs are cool, is it ok if i ask how you came up with the designs and names for them?

i've been thinking ab maybe making signs with combined aspects, bcuz i'm an indecisive bastard, but that's a massive undertaking and i'm not sure where to start ~_~;

the designs were mostly me mixing aspects of the base signs, or (rarely. maybe like. once?) coming up with a unique shape i thought would look good?

the names... well fun fact: i actually have like. paper notes on signs n classpecting stuff n part of that has notes on the split up part of what makes a sign name. so like. the caste prefix, the aspect suffix, and the variants in both depending on which aspect or caste we're talking about. so essentially looking at what changes in that depandant on moon & just making a new version i thought sounded good

the titles though were me just spending ages looking at, comparing, n contrasting, n looking up synonyms n definitions n whatnot for the preexisting moon dependent signs. you, quite obviously id hope, do not have to go this far

n yeah combined aspects would be incredibly huge. this was me essentially smushing the number down, but thatd be multiplying it depending on how many combos you do so. if you do choose to do that! good luck! i wish you the best in your monumental task. if not, completely understandable ofc. hell, take as long as you need to (this got dragged out to at least two years iirc? i definitely couldve kicked it out in less if id focused only on this but alas) and dont feel obligated to do many at all (hell all this started bc i couldnt choose between pira & piza, so just made a combo sign. i had no plans for more than that)

unfortunately, we work with the extended zodiac as written, and while there are canonical dual-dreamers (sollux), there are no canonical dual signs. there was another person a while back who was planning to make dual dreamer signs---i think @localbardofmind, but i don't know if anything came of that.

Hey. It’s been a while. So, since the last time I was properly active, I graduated, got a job, got a new computer, started messing with my artstyle again, and started working on a couple new ideas. Most of those were unrelated, but a few were actually relevant to this blog. I’ve got a few canon fix-it fic series ideas I’m planning out (a Homestuck one included), several things for Nexus, and a few same universe-different people stories set in Nexus’ orbit. Alongside this there’s the current analysis requests, more Nexus & adjacent planning, stories, and general upkeep. And it’s hard to get the motivation and will to do them. I’m going to set up a list, maybe an actual schedule (if there is a god, they know I need one sdfghjgh) & do my best to work my way through my goals, even if it’s when I don’t really feel like it. This is @rogue-of-heart-classpecting here. I really like the idea of a bard of mind player being a dual dreamer. I originally thought it was kind of overpowered but having the destruction of and with masks and personas, kind of turning identity on its head, made me accept right away that that type of player could be a dual dreamer. Kind of got me thinking about the connection with sollux’s two dream selves and his classpect…

is it weird that I find this like. vaguely flattering? yeah in practice it would probably be op, but id say that you could probably bullshit any of the classpects into being really op, and the implications and symbolism (both intentional & not) can be very fun! I'm glad I could open up a new idea to you!

I feel like this would very much depend on how the characters develop besides their classpects & the world they grew up in. Since you specified human, going by the beta timelines idea of Earth, they both might have fairly low-risk lives, which could effect the development of their relationship with each other. The Prince might be clingy & emotional early on in their development, but abrasive at the same time, driving people away just as they try to pull them in. The Maid might be clingy right back however, relying on the Prince for that sense of self or emotional strength. With this, it’d be a very imbalanced relationship, unfortunately. Kinda makes me think of like. Sick of Losing Soulmates by dodie. The idea of clinging to someone so tightly, needing them so much, but knowing you’re causing destruction for both of you. As the Maid develops and finds their sense of self & the Prince begins to understand themself and work past their clingyness, this could become a very rocky relationship, especially in that transition stage. Eventually it would settle though, and just as the Maid ends up becoming a force of nature all their own, the Prince would learn to calm down and accept that others very much need their freedom and cannot always stay close.

All in all, I’d say that quadrant wise, it probably WOULD work best as a matespritship. As moirails, that rockiness could get bad, potentially to the point of needing an auspistice. As kismesis, I don’t feel like there would be enough competitive or rival-like spirit. As matesprites they would have issues, but given the structure of the relationship compared to the other quadrants, that is definitely the quadrant that would be best.
