I agree, I am so sick of this genre. I don't want to keep seeing this overdone genre with its formulaic regurgitation of tropes. It has become the "pop music" of the writing world.

It is kind of like tuning in to your favorite radio stations and hearing nothing but the same 4 songs from Justin Bieber and Post Malone. Not only are they are the same two people, who happened to originate on different timelines and transcended the division in the universe to exist on the same plane of existence by happenstance, their music is like so overplayed and sigh! They are ruining the world of music. Just my opinion.

Divergent is a bad book, but its accidental brilliance is that it completely mauled the YA dystopian genre by stripping it down to its barest bones for maximum marketability, utterly destroying the chances of YA dystopian literature’s long-term survival

I 100% agree with pack-of-rats on fictives being a DID/OSDD term. I would however like to offer those who are non-DID/OSDD systems the opportunity to adopt your own terminology that doesn't feel invalidating to DID/OSDD systems. You can keep them all to your very own, promise. It isn't personal "IFS-people" and "Endos", I still love you all but I have to ask for some respect for our boundaries. Okay I'm reaching out to the DID/OSDD community because I've gotten mixed responses to something.

I know some people who are professionally diagnosed DID/OSDD systems, and some of them have mentioned how "fictive" isn't exclusive to them, and that all people who are plural in some way are allowed to use it. They further explained that "fictional introject" was the exclusive term.

I don't have DID/OSDD, but I use IFS aka parts therapy. I know it isn't a disorder and that it's just for coping purposes and such, but I'm unsure if that means I can use the term or not. A friend of mine also asked around and got mixed results on whether or not people outside of the DID/OSDD community can use the term "fictive" or not.

This is a genuine question and I just want to get some answers, if that's okay! I don't want to misuse terms/use terms not meant for me.
