Speaking of Endo and Chika's iconic matching tattoos, considering the fact that Endo didn't explain the meaning behind the wolf visual, I like to think the wolf represents Endo's absolute devotion to one and only Chika. Like sure wolves are known as pack animals, but in EndoChika's case, it's exclusive for both of them and no one else to the point that Endo is offended by the fact that unknowing people think it's their gang tattoo. I can say both of them are the alpha pair.

Here's more about the alpha wolves: They are monogamous and spend their lives with each other. They are the only two wolves in their pack that have breeding rights. The pack comprises grown pups and possibly some other close relatives. The pair of alphas are the only two to mate to keep the pack population under control because all except for the alphas are typically related. The two alphas hunt, sleep, groom, play and mate together. They are seldom seen apart. However, if one of the alpha pairs dies, the other will choose another mate. Their status is “until death do them part.”

Endo really put a lot of thought into the design of their tattoo after all🥺

S'mae! Hi! Thought it would be fun to do a lil Mabinogion-inspired prompt event for September because The Mab bangs and imo Welsh mythology doesn't get enough attention. Please don't feel like you have to do every single prompt and also the texts are just for flavour, they're not rigid. Have fun, go ham, read whatever translation of The Mabinogion, The Triads, and other Welsh myth media your heart desires!

So, THE RULES

No AI. Period. Please don't use it, that isn't what this event is about. Plus, it's inaccurate.

You can do anything you want! Music playlists (I mean. maybe not for all of them. Pigs might be a bit of a stretch!) drabbles, fics, drawings, moodboards, anything!!!!

Welsh submissions are absolutely encouraged!!!!!!

The event will start from the Sunday 14th of September and run until the end of September but it's not rigid!!! (If you have things that won't be ready until October then still post them! 😊)

Welsh mythology-adjacent stuff (like Alan Garner's 'The Owl Service,' Lloyd Alexander's 'The Chronicles of Prydain,' and Thomas Love Peacock's 'The Misfortunes of Elphin,' to name a few) is also encouraged!

I find a strange moment to ponder my place in the universe as the audiobook I’m listening to about Ancient Rome discusses how wealthy Romans had literate slaves that would read books out loud to them.

It’s a strange way of summing up how nothing in the world has changed and also how absolutely everything has changed.

I likely share in common with some ancient Roman elites that I enjoy both listening to books while I’m doing something else and reading them quietly myself with no distractions. Since I enjoy ancient literature I may sometimes listen to the exact same books that they did, even if it’s translated into a language that didn’t exist yet when they heard or read them. On occasion we both may enjoy eating bread dipped in olive oil as we listen or read.

The circumstances of our listening though are extraordinarily different. I live in a world where slavery is illegal even if in practice it may tragically still exist in some circumstances. I am poor enough to get assistance from the government in paying for my food yet I have access to some of the same luxuries that they had, though not all of the same luxuries.

The way I listen to a book is through a recording of a professional that’s mass distributed. I need help getting food but I still likely have access to a wider variety of ingredients than they could’ve imagined. I live in a world where literacy is expected. They did not. I do my own dishes and my own cooking. They most likely did not.

How wide or narrow is the gap between me in the year 2025 listening to the Aeneid and a Roman senator listening to it in the first century? In some ways we are a lot alike with very similar tastes. In other ways we are completely and utterly alien to each other.

i feel like counter-trolling is an essential skill that kids online aren’t learning and it’s kinda worrying

like back in my day, the day of online forums, learning how to trick someone in to getting themselves banned was an essential skill. if you could tell someone was a chud, you would ask them short, leading questions and watch them get frustrated and post longer and longer rants until they said something that would catch a mod’s attention and get them banned and/or at least publicly humiliated. 

and guess what? that’s the exact same tactics the alt-right use now. these people are exclusively acting in bad faith. every interaction these people post online is done with the intention of getting someone to respond to them so they can screenshot the massive paragraphs of text and laugh

so, what’s the solution?

dare ‘em to post dick pics.

don’t acknowledge the content of the stuff they post. if you see someone trying to engage you in bad faith just dare them to post pictures of their penis until they either get frustrated and leave or get frustrated and do it. either way they lose. 

this is the tactic used by the fans of a podcast (that i haven’t listened to) called the Chapo Trap House, and 4chan’s /pol/ users fucking HATE them. they hate Chapo Trap House and think they’re crazy because Chapo Trap House fans refuse to engage in meaningful debate and repeatedly demand dick pics. they get frustrated and leave. it works.

THEYVE NEVER BEEN DRAWN LIKE THIS. HE HAS A FISH EYED STARE, WALLS THE SIZE OF EVEREST WAITING TO COME UP

Idk he seems like he's dissociating, like he's looking but he's not- I can't describe it.

BUT THEN-

We get something more familiar, his eyes are still horrifyingly blank

The only other time we see Sakura’s eyes drawn like this is in scenes where he's surprised like this one with Ume

But he's far from surprised, he's seeing a threat.

Bruh I love the art of Windbreaker. The eyes are so expressive and say so much. BUT THATS NOT WHY WE'RE HERE!

He gets his colors and eye shine back, he has hope, stability and is confident that those around him will stay even when they've heard why he thinks of himself as nothing more than trash.
