My Review of Savage Lands #1 By Stacy Marie Brown
You know I am beginning to understand book burning. Yes it is truly that bad. I saw this book the other day and I saw that a reviewer I liked gave this book four stars and I decided that I would try it. From the second chapter I realized what a big mistake I made. We start the book with our main character obviously bexelely. I must warn you that I cannot be bothered to write her ridiculous name…

You know when I say people are over dramatic about books.
I get it.

All Of Us Villains (All Of Us Villains #1) by Amanda Foody ARC Sample | Review.
I wanted this book for a while. It is one of my most anticipated reads for this year. So I was excited when I got the sample ARC and now that I have finished reading the sample, I am really interested in reading the full book. The story seems to be about seven kids being chosen to be champions of their respective families in a tournament. We are introduced to all our main characters Alistair…

Are you a YA Fantasy protagonist.
Are you a YA Fantasy protagonist.
Introduction. Hello and welcome back to Traveling Through The Pages. The blog where we talk about books and also mock them. I will soon be posting a review of the book I just read. The Prophecy of Shadows (Elementals #1) by Michelle Madow. Unfortunately, I will be mocking it but wait till then. Anyhow, it inspired this post because I noticed a lot of tropes that occur a lot in books like the…

I noticed that no matter what genre you read Romance always finds a way to stick its ugly little nose.
So noticed these lines are so repetitive.
Let's get into them.
Number One
Examples
I breathed the scent of him [The love interest] he smelled like home.
The home is this
📷
Or this
📷
Not this :
📷
Or this :
📷
This is one I have seen a lot of times in the Throne of Glass series and The Black Mage and some others.
I get you like the dude, but really home is a bit much. A home is something you will always be welcome to but guess what.
📷
📷
📷
Yes, you got it breakups exist.
📷
Does he still smell like home when you are like this?
It just seems like a funny line to me.
Number Two: All that matters.
All that mattered was that he [Love Interest] was kissing me.
Now if you have got nothing to do and no world to save and no life this line might be fine.
Most protagonists have bills, worlds to save, evil to vanquish and a guy's lips on yours is the only thing that matters.
📷
Number Three: Perfect
He gave me [a gift] to me and said It's Perfect, like you.
📷
That is so cringe-worthy.
Can you ever imagine saying this in real life?
Even if the girl has 300 warts, elephant ears, and demon's eyes.
Is she still perfect?
Then I guess it is flattering to be compared to an object.
Number Four: Length.
I felt the considerable length of him.
This one is inappropriate but still grossly overused, mostly by writers who use annoying metaphors.
What does it mean?
Well, wait till you are older.
Conclusion.
So that is it for now.
I know there are a lot more but these are the few that readily come to mind.
I hope you enjoyed it.
What other annoying sentence do you know, do you feel it is the author's fault? Answers in the comments below.
