One Step At A Time

My fic for the 1DBigBang Round 8 is finally here! Ahhh! @onedirectionbigbang

It's Louis's last year at university and it's all gone to shit before the semester has even begun. Instead of sharing a flat with Liam and Zayn, like he was promised, he now has to share with his acquaintance, Niall, and a random first year student.

The problem is that Louis has a secret he'd rather not share with his flatmates, but if he doesn't want to be homeless in January, it's crucial that he tells them. It would have been a lot easier if Harry weren't so cute and clearly interested in Louis.

A little fic where Louis tries his best to keep his heart guarded, but Harry breaks down all the walls. And as Harry struggles more and more, Louis can't help but want to give Harry everything.

Harry is happy. He loves his daughter, has his dream job and the best friend in the world, so he doesn't understand why the universe decided to punish him by bringing Louis Tomlinson back into his life.

Louis Tomlinson abandoned everything - including the love of his life - five years ago and never allowed himself to look back as punishment. However, after a lot of pressure from his friends (and therapy), he decided to come back to correct his past mistakes. He just didn't expect to discover that he has a daughter he's never met. Now he needs to fix his past relationships and build a new one with the smartest little girl.

A story about mistakes, love and the courage to forgive.

It was a blast working with @ineverateakiwi and getting to read her story and hear her journey of this great fic. I tried a new art technique from my usual graphic design & photography, and it was a fun adventure. Thank you to @onedirectionbigbang mods for making such a great fest for people to pair up & explore outside their comfort zone.

Harry’s unrequited crush on Louis turns into a whirlwind summer romance, only to leave him heartbroken in the end. Years later, a return to his hometown forces Harry to confront his past and the one person he was running from.

It’s been five years and Zayn still feels the ghost of Louis’ hand on his throat whenever he can’t breathe.

There used to be a point in time when he craved it; the way his pulse would do an uptick, the way blood would rush through his ears and everything would feel faint, but these days it’s nothing like that. These days it’s only panic tightening his chest and stealing the breath from his lungs, and no amount of trying to calm himself down works anymore.

It doesn’t help that no one understands. Well, one person would, but he’s the exact person that’s got Zayn in a panic right now, and there’s some morbid kind of humor in that, because of course Louis still manages to control his breathing when it’s been five years since they were last even in the same room.

Or, more accurately, four days, eleven months and twenty-eight days. But who’s counting?
