Wow, so you’re telling me two of my favorite characters share themes of being Othered, the displacement of the self, the abandoning of a place that would’ve killed you but was in some ways home, Transformation as both shackle and liberty dependent on their assertion of agency, silly guys with a nature theme, proximity to nobility and royalty, a relationship to bodies of water, tall men with a particular way of speaking and rather polite in conjunction with the silliness, inhuman but not monstrous yet seen as such regardless, magical and has complicated relationships to institutes of power in terms of authority & magic, can fight and scrap with the best of them, being displaced multiple times with varying degrees of wanting to he there, a propensity for getting into trouble with others of their kind, of two worlds yet rejected by both except for the few that embrace them wholeheartedly-
