I'm so mad again and for what? I swear if i see any more post of heathers the musical and how people praise it as if it was a master piece I'm gonna die
Im the self proclaimed #1 biggest Heathers the musical hater, that excuse of a story is ass and it's obviously a water downed version of the movie turning a satiric nihilistic and crude teenage parody and social critique movie into a typical high school romance bullshit drama just to appeal to a bigger audience because let's be honest if the musical never existed the movie would be way more unknown and even now with the musical most people prefer the musical and ignore the movie
The musical is racist, homophobic, sexist, dumb, unfunny and disgusting
How in their minds did they saw a scene about rape and decided it was fucking funny????
It just doesn't work! The movies tone is satire and it doesn't even take itself seriously because that is fucking point, the musical tries so hard to make you sympathize with the characters, bitch no! This movie isn't a coming out of age 80s cheesy movie! Literally the movie was making fun of those 80s movies!
This isn't for you to relate to Veronica and say uggg I'm so quirky just like her and so awkard!
Veronica isn't a quirky teenager, she's a mentally ill deconstruction of a character to fit the satirical style of the movie i swear stfup
Also JD kinnies how do I even beggin
I seriously don't wanna care, but Heathers the musical fans piss me off.
If there's more Heathers movie fans out there who share the sentiment plss I'm begging
And i haven't even started on Heather Duke .. but that is just too long

the musical SUCKS cuz they dont get that the movie being deadpan is played very intentional, not only does it add to the tone of the movie to play it straight that show this is the reality for these people and they're not living a comedy like how we percieve it, but also the sincerity adds to the humor when for example veronica's mom walks in on her (fake) suicide and very sincerely says "I should have let you take that summer job", as if that was the biggest of her worries, and then Veronica casually drops down and is like "oh hey mom, what's for dinner" which is not only funny but ALSO showing the disconnect between adults and teenagers and adding to the movies themes GOOD WRITING. the ONLY TIME the musical actually achieves this and is funny is probably Meant To Be Yours where JD starts singing insane shit so sincerely which is funny but basically in every other instance the musical tries too hard and ironically removes not only the tone but humor of the writing

One of the things that I really dislike of the musical is how they completely ignore how Chandler was a victim of SA and grooming
We all hate David in this house

Willow Gooden's New Album; Everything We Know
Vulture | August 10, 2023

(photoshoot for Elle Magazine 2022)
Willow Gooden blew up this summer with her single "Risk" from her bubblegum-pop EP Blowing Smoke. Many have been surprised that 2 months after Blowing Smoke, she released another single, "Superglue". Long-time fans, however, are unmoved, because Gooden has a pattern with her releases; deluxe in the winter, EP in the spring, and album in around August. So it wasn't very surprising when earlier today she made this post on Instagram;
The lead single
"Superglue" is a poppy love ballad about sticking together (who would have guessed). Although the sound is very upbeat, the lyrics suggest this album will be a bit sadder. Lyrics like "But you don't smile anymore, you don’t greet me at the door" and "The only thing that I'm doing is never doing enough" suggest this is about her recently broken up ex, Sophie Thatcher.
The album is out September 1, 2023.

new dr???? maybe????
introducing...
ramsey's 2010s interviewer dr
berlin monroe is taking the tumblr and youtube and.. well, internet as a whole by storm as people start being fans of.. a fan herself??? monroe rose to the top with her youtube channel about music, pop culture, and everything in her life. her fans saw her as a best friend, and celebrities started to follow her. soon enough, she was hired at buzzfeed and interviewed many of her idols including her now girlfriend (or its rumored at least... but come on, we know what's going on you two), charli xcx, a rising star in the electropop sphere. soon after, she quit buzzfeed, leaking deets on members hours later, with lawsuits flying her way. this didn't faze her though, as she created a whole new youtube channel which quickly surpassed buzzfeed in subscribers in the first 4 hours! she interviews celebrities like they are close friends - which, let's be real, they probably are - every week and uploads vlogs twice a week. her vlogs show her going to music festivals, raves, and even just updating her tumblr. it's safe to say that, even if you hate her, berlin monroe is an icon for the books.

some none shall sleep incorrect quotes from here
kristen: I don’t think the therapist is supposed to say ‘wow’ that many times during their first session with a client, but here we are.
emma: Why would you do that?
travis: Because I feel guilty.
simon: Guilt is a trick emotion. It’s put there by your parents to stop you from doing things that feel good.
simon: We just ate. Why are you making pancakes?
kristen: For the dogs.
simon: Why are you making pancakes for the dogs?
kristen: They don't know how.
travis: Could you be anymore annoying?
simon: Yes.
simon: If you don't stop talking, I'm going to jump out of that window.
travis: ...We're on the ground floor.
simon: I know but I want a dramatic exit.
emma: You know, you were right.
simon: About what specifically? Because I’m right about a lot of things.
emma: You have Crayons?
simon: Yes, I have—
emma: You're— how old are you?
simon: YES I AM AN ADULT AND I HAVE CRAYONS, I HAVE A BOX OF EMERGENCY CRAYONS IN THE CABINET UNDER THE TV BECAUSE EVERYBODY NEEDS CRAYONS SOMETIMES, OKAY? EVERYBODY NEEDS CRAYONS.
simon: How would you like to live forever?
emma: I'd hate it. Shut the fuck up.
kristen: Strawberry milk doesn’t taste like strawberry OR milk.
travis: Go the fuck to sleep kristen.

Genuinely don't understand why people love the story and the engine so much. How can an episode which has the doctor being completely out of character, Belinda doing nothing, really lacking side characters, abuser apologia (she brought us food while helping our kidnapper so she's the best and we love her??), mountines of exposition, and the actual line "hurt people hurt people" be your favorite

just rewatched the eleventh hour yesterday, its one of my favorite dw eps of all time
Moffat couldn't do season openers and RTD can't do finales. It's fine. There's no reason to act like this is a new thing.

smith-capaldi was the best era argue w the wall
So weird how the BBC still treats the Capaldi era like some embarrassing failure they don't want to talk about when it was far more successful than the ones that came after it, creatively and commercially, and has really only grown in popularity since then. Their fixation on recapturing the glory days of RTD1 is one of the reasons the show is currently in the state it is.
