wgat do you have against museums :C
>I don’t have anything against museums— I think when run ethically and responsibly they serve an important purpose in both preservation and education. I just can’t stand the idea of being put IN one. Being shut off again and turned into some kind of tourist attraction for people to gawk at for who knows how long, as if my autonomy and personhood meant nothing. What if I were to wake up after all the people I’ve come to love are long gone? Would that be worse than never waking up at all? I already missed entire eras of history while sealed in the Haldera, and I didn’t feel particularly close to any of the people I outlived when I was activated again… I don’t think I could handle a repeat of those circumstances.

>Well, for starters, Nova is an individual— his kind are called clockwork stars. But no worries, that’s a very common misconception. Other than the ill-intentioned and ill-fated Access Ark he is the only clockwork star to have ever been brought to this dimension to my knowledge.
Hey how do you guys feel about the Lor Starcutter
The Lor Starcutter is a fascinating feat of technology! More advanced than any dimensional-crossing device built before or since, and the first truly sapient creation of the Ancients, she's truly a marvel of the ages. Her current captain, from what I've heard, is not entirely innocent of crimes; however I suppose I can not judge considering the past actions of myself and co. She is a gorgeous technological being, and I hope to be allowed to meet her some day.

well those tags weren’t ominous at all!
>I suppose elaborating couldn’t hurt. As I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, Starcutters— at least of my type, I’m not sure if this applies to modern models— are powered by both aether magic and soul magic. Older soul-powered beings, like clockwork stars prior to the discovery of ways of harnessing aether magic, were given an entire existing soul; this came with many benefits and some very strong drawbacks. When aether magic was finally understood enough to be utilized to do “naturally” what soul magic had once been used to brute force, switching to it was a natural step forward, however that did not account for energy needs that a soul was being used to meet in the older systems. The solution the ancients found was essentially to… Break up souls and just use fragments of them. Enough to remain stable and provide energy, but not enough to, say, give a spaceship reality bending capabilities. As long as they weren’t from the same source, they wouldn’t ever reform, and parts of souls can’t just “disappear” either. Hence the distinction that we were powered by soul magic but did not have souls ourselves.
>I was no different for a long time, and I didn’t realize that was not the case any longer until relatively recently. As I’m sure you all know by now, I was sealed under the Haldera for thousands of years. Because of that, I spent many years in close proximity to two very powerful magic sources. At least one of those magic sources, but possibly both in tandem, must have caused the soul fragments that were used in my creation to more or less fuse into a new soul. Like a composite. This would certainly help to explain some of my more anomalous experiences, but due to the fact that such an event is almost unheard of, understanding what the implications are for myself and those around me is virtually impossible. Now, to be clear, this isn’t exactly new information— I’ve just never had an opportune time to share it.
>Mainly, it just raises a lot of questions that I can’t really find definitive answers for. What constitutes a soul versus just soul magic? Do I have a mind now in addition to my AI? Would I be able to tell? When did the fragments consolidate? What exactly was it that made them do so? Does it have anything to do with some of the unexplained phenomena I experienced prior to waking up in Another Dimension? How might this affect me, given its critical nature to my existence and the fact that I was not designed with such a thing in mind?

>Technically I wasn’t the first sapient creation of the Ancients, though I suppose it depends on how you define creation in this context. I appreciate your kind words nonetheless! :>
