Okay now for real I'm totally out of my sleep medication. Now I'm really struggling to sleep tonight. It's midnight and I'm wide awake. Any DIY home remedies for insomnia? I haven't slept a night where I didn't take at least 17.5 mg of Thorazine in 11 years. Anytime I haven't had it, I've been up the whole night. I know eventually I'll adjust but for now, it's rough.

"Blueprints for Ghosts"
The world moves fast, but I stay still,
Trapped in the gears of a system that kills.
Chasing a purpose that shifts like the sand,
Grasping for meaning with tremoring hands.
They say, “Just work, just grind, just climb,”
But the ladder they built was never mine.
Every rung rigged with someone else’s greed,
Every step weighted with what I don’t need.
Smiles like currency, forced and fake,
A mask I wear just to tolerate.
I play the part, I know my lines,
But the script was never written right.
I scream in silence, but no one hears,
Drowned out by progress, profits, and fears.
I wish I could find a space to breathe,
But this world was never built for me.

Freddie Oversteegen, Truus Menger-Oversteegen, and Hannie Schaft were among the few women in the Dutch resistance during World War II. Raised in a leftist, anti-fascist household, Freddie and Truus were just 14 and 16 when they were recruited by the resistance. Hannie, a university student, later joined their ranks. Together, they carried out daring missions to sabotage Nazi infrastructure, such as destroying bridges and railways to hinder German troop movements. They also smuggled Jewish children to safe houses, ensuring their survival.
One of their most dangerous tactics involved seducing Nazi officers and Dutch collaborators. The young women would flirt with their targets in bars or on the street, gaining their trust before luring them into secluded areas where they were assassinated. This method, while risky, proved highly effective in eliminating key Nazi figures and traitors. Despite the constant threat of capture, they remained fearless, knowing the importance of their mission.
Hannie Schaft became particularly notorious to the Nazis, earning the nickname "the girl with the red hair." Her activities made her a high-priority target, and she was eventually captured in 1945. Despite being tortured, she refused to betray her comrades. Tragically, she was executed just weeks before the war ended. Freddie and Truus survived, later dedicating their lives to advocating for peace and sharing their story.
Their bravery disrupted Nazi operations in the Netherlands and inspired future generations. Though their heroism remained largely unrecognized for years, they were later honored for their contributions to the resistance, proving that even the youngest fighters can change history.

“Where Once There Were Heroes”
The turmoil over small things,
Eats away at my will to thrive.
Each heartbreak a new ding,
To my humanity and my pride
Where once there stood heroes,
Now there only stands regret.
Where once the knowledge flowed,
Now everyone tends to forget.
We said goodbye to peace and love,
And pushed it all away.
We broke our promises to the sky above,
Of course our end has come to stay.
May the future hear our stories true,
And know we tried to save them.
May God and nature forgive us too,
And maybe we will be healed then.

“Words That Come from Above”
My heart, my mind, they’re crying.
My body feels like it’s dying.
Pain and sadness are all I know.
Happiness acts like a foe.
I need sunshine and warmth and grace
I need praise upon my face
I need softness, I need love
I need words that come from above
Walked on, stepped on, passed on by
That’s the live I’ve lived, no lie
When will my love come to rest?
Lord knows I’ve tried my best
I need kindness and tact and skill
I need words that fill not kill
I need fullness, I need love
I need words that come from above

"Disregarding Heart"
It’s completely wild,
How predictable you are.
Always plotting something,
Like you haven’t got a heart.
Disregarding morals,
Affection thrown away.
Nothing matters after all,
Except for the games you play.
I doubt that I’m the only one,
This invitation found.
But I might be just the one,
To bring you back to the ground.
Flying ego, high above,
The heads of those who’d pray
Lost soul, gone for long,
Who never should have stayed.

“I See Who You Are”
I'm getting a bit tired of the bullshit,
This obvious go around just makes me sick.
The questions and pleading are just full of shit,
This is going down flaming in a ditch.
The attempts at bonding over commonalities,
Making it more obvious this is just a tease.
Where would the reasonable go in true disbelief?
When the circus burns the town and everybody weeps.
The echoes of laughter now sharpen like knives,
Each hollow exchange just drains my drive.
The mask is slipping, the cracks running deep,
Exposing the rot that was never asleep.
I wish i knew how to reverse the repulsion,
Find a way to cleanse my brain and cover it with delusion.
I never knew I could be hit so hard with realization,
But the first step in purifying is self dedication.

Ada Lovelace was born on December 10, 1815, in Piccadilly Terrace, Middlesex (now London). She was an English mathematician best known for working with Charles Babbage on his early design for a digital computer. In fact, she wrote what is now considered the first computer program, earning her the title of the world’s first computer programmer.
Lovelace’s life was shaped by her famous parents—poet Lord Byron and Annabella Milbanke Byron. However, she never knew her father, as her parents separated just two months after her birth, and he left Britain for good. She was privately tutored and later educated herself, though she received guidance in advanced mathematics from Augustus De Morgan, a logician and professor at the University of London. In 1835, she married William King, who later became the 1st Earl of Lovelace, making her a countess.
Her fascination with Babbage’s machines began in 1833 when she was introduced to him through their mutual friend, the author Mary Somerville. But her most significant contribution came in 1843 when she translated and extensively annotated a paper by Italian mathematician Luigi Federico Menabrea on Babbage’s Analytical Engine. In her notes, she described how the machine could be programmed to calculate Bernoulli numbers, comparing it to a Jacquard loom weaving intricate patterns.
Although Babbage never fully built the Analytical Engine, Lovelace’s work laid the foundation for modern computing. In recognition of her contributions, the programming language Ada was named in her honor, and every second Tuesday in October is celebrated as Ada Lovelace Day, a tribute to women’s achievements in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
